Oh my!!! Delicious place to eat! Now, I must admit I haven't made my way upstairs yet. I don't live in Pella but I visit family often but this past week when I visited, they had closed the upstairs I suppose for private events. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So that's a little disappointing but I will keep an eye out for any changes because I would love to update my review.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I always hear great things about the rooftop![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, I will talk about the downstairs part where they offer sandwiches: YUM. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quick service, plenty of seating, and I love the brick walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very neat place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The white wrapped thing in my picture is a pickle. I thought it was a fork at first. Surprise lol!

Ambiance good. Building very cool. Multi level was nice. Service a bit slow but they were busy. Had to ask for silverware. That should t ever happen. Pretzel and cheese was great. Cesar salad with chicken was disappointing. Chicken not bueno. Sometimes I was concerned the small diced pieces weren't cooked enough. They were sketchy. Cesar dressing seemed watered down and thin. Mom liked her fries ok but just ok. Nothing to rave about. Husband liked his smashburger burger.

What a fun afternoon we spent in Pella. Toured the windmill, watched the klokkenspiel show, got pastries from not one but two Dutch bakeries! Then we had delicious burgers for dinner on the second floor of the Brewhuis. Looked out over the main square where they had a farmer's market going on. Tried the "Dutch Avalanche" burger with Pella bologna (made next door at Int Veld's butcher shop), smoked ham and melted gouda cheese. So unique and delicious!

Everything I had at Butcher's Brewhuis was exceptional. I had the daily special, Huis Bowl, and the dish looked so simple but the flavor was so unique. I'm usually can't eat bread alone, but their bread was so soft and kind of sweet. It made me love Dutch food! If you're ever take a random trip to Pella, come to Butcher's Brewhuis. You won't be disappointed.

    Alcove over the square

Fabulous cocktails and a great environment. Try the smoked maple old fashioned. Delicious! This even though the regular bartender was out. Friendly service. If you're just nipping in for a drink, sit in the alcove to watch the activity on the square below!

No mask wearing by employees. Particularly bad when the man leans over the fresh meat case.

I love the sandwiches and are a nice small shop with a great lunch menu. Worth the stop for a bite.

Are we having fun yet? You should be!…read more Stopped here again to get my helping of karaoke singers and pop culture. Street or lot parking. As you walk in, the bar is right in from of you. If you look right the small stage is where you can have the spotlight and sing your heart out. Get in your song choice cause it is hoppin tonight. There is a decent selection of drinks on tap. You can grab your drink and hang or you can make your way around to the other rooms where video games are a plenty. Take your quarters. Grab your drink. Play your hearts desire. Some fantastic old pinball to some more current games. They even have a small kitchen if you get the munchies. If you need to get a shipping fix. There is even a small store that sells unique gifts. The bartenders were on point tonight, and no one was ignored. We all had fun and I really like the place.

6/13/26 11:00 p.m…read more What a fun concept!!! I love all of the retro games! There are a ton to choose from, but only one pool table. The games are separate from the bar and karaoke area, which is nice when you're there for the games lol. Overall, it was clean inside and outside, and even the bathrooms were really well maintained. They provide a quarter machine in the game area for convenience. We didn't try the food, but it smelled good and came out for others pretty quickly. Drink prices aren't too high either. Only one of three bartenders paid is any kind though, even when the other two weren't with other people. The one bartender that did help us was pleasant and had a smile every time. One of the other bartenders looked like he didn't want to be there, and the third never even looked up at us. Outback, they have a smoking area, and it was a decent size. Unfortunately, it has no cover, so when it rains, all of the chairs get wet, so you can't sit down. All in all, this is a fun place with plenty of room to bring friends and have a good time.
