Then when I got home I looked at the receipt and saw that they charged me for 500 before tax instead of 475 even though I specifically said I was quoted for 475 and he told me it was 475 plus tax!!! WTF Its that kind of dishonesty that really makes me upset about taking my truck to any kind of shop. If this could be fixed I would write a 5 star maybe it was a genuine mistake. I hate to assume the worst and yeah 25 bucks isn't a huge deal but it's the way it went that kind of ticked me. Looking at the receipt after i was already home really ticked me.

I came in politely asking for help with a car part, and instead of assisting me, the employee just yelled "aisle 5." When I asked for clarification, he repeated the same thing without any effort to help. I specifically asked if they could look up my vehicle to ensure I was buying the correct part, and he flatly said, "Nope, we can't." I tried to figure it out on my own, but there were so many parts it was overwhelming. When I asked another employee, he behaved the same way rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help. When I pointed out that AutoZone's own website asks for make and model, they shrugged and said, "We just don't." What was even more frustrating is that while I was struggling, I noticed them being attentive and helpful to other customers but not me. It felt like the difference in treatment came down to a complexion, which was deeply upsetting. I left and went to O'Reilly's on 9th Avenue instead, where the employees immediately looked up my vehicle, helped me find the right part, and went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed.Please avoid the AutoZone on 9th Avenue. I got the impression they'd just rather not have to deal with customers at all, and that they really didn't give a damn once they'd gotten the money. If you walk in to their building, inspect each part for yourself & understand ahead of time what "caveat emptor" means, you might be OK with UAR. Otherwise, I'd stay far, far away.

I've been frequenting this place for 20 years, and honestly it's gone so far downhill. I did the honest thing, and placed parts on the counter that could've EASILY been slipped into my pocket without any suspicion, and was met with 1) a ridiculous price for what it was and 2) a refusal to take my card because it had my wife's name on it, despite it being a joint account and my face being on the card itself. The excuse given was "we have people file disputes after using a card not in their name". What was the amount she was worried about me disputing? $7. Paid the rest in cash, and $7 was the rest. For two connectors and two pieces of half-dollar sized rubber. This place will lie to you about when a car is available, what vehicles are actually in the lot, and apparently are doing so poorly that worrying about a $7 disputed charge will make or break their business. Just go with Butler's Auto Parts, or Pensacola Auto Parts, both of them are right down the street and are equal in price. Lost a customer for life, man. Over $7. If they're gonna do this over a $7 part, imagine how badly they'll screw you on an engine or thousands of $$$ worth of parts.
