Let me open by saying, I would NEVER buy another Exide battery again. ANY OTHER battery goes bad,…read morethey look at the date and would exchange if under Warranty. But not the excuse factory Exide, do not show up without a year old receipt or knowing exactly where you got it. Here is my take on Exide Batteries. My wife bought an Exide Marine Battery. It was a big one and very expensive. The battery lasted less than 1 year. Now while that in itself is not an issue, the problem is this. When I took the Battery to Exide the very first thing they ask for is a receipt or they are not willing to talk to you at all. I mentioned that it is a new battery and they can see from the Date Sticker how old it is. Did not matter. Then they proceed to tell me that it was purchased from either Gander Outdoors or Academy and still since they are the SUPPLIER - NOTHING THEY COULD DO. Well, there is NO GANDER in Pensacola no more. AND I have carried this battery around for almost 2 weeks because my wife, like many wives cannot remember where she got it and certainly after almost a year has no receipt. Since I was at the EXIDE Warehouse, you would think we can take this and trade it out. OBVIOUSLY it was under warranty and Exide from Exide is no different than Exide from Gander or Academy. SO, if you are smart buy a Battery from a source whereby you can take it anywhere that sells that Battery and they can exchange it. I took an Optima Battery I bought, store changed it out and I had no idea where I got it. Most places would, Exide -- NOPE. You just lost your money on a defective Battery.
