I stopped on a Sunday morning for take out. I just wanted coffee. I ordered outside service was quick and kind. It was around 1 and inside was super busy. Very cute location the cup colors are nice. Coffee was delicious and warm. If in the area I would stop by again

16oz Iced Latte (~$6) with Real Vanilla Syrup (+75¢)

Ordered: 16oz Iced Latte (~$6) with Real Vanilla Syrup (+75¢) Aya's take: I've always heard good things about Butler and was in the area needing a midday caffeine boost. It looks like they have plenty of pastries, sandwiches, and baked goods but I got the Iced Latte with Real Vanilla Syrup. Now the Iced Latte itself was pretty decent. The espresso was bold and balanced and the ratio of milk was just right. My only complaint is I could barely taste the Real Vanilla Syrup that I paid extra for. It was so subtle in flavor that I could've just gotten a regular Iced Latte and not known the difference. I was intrigued by the fact that they had real vanilla to begin with but unfortunately I wasn't able to really taste or enjoy it. The drinks might be hit or miss but their cups are cute and the space is bright.

Easy to find, plenty of seatings inside and one table outside. Inside is chic and lots of baked good at the counter to order right away or you can order on the menu. I was a in a rush so I didn't get to order much but the breakfast empanadas (5/5), perfectly toasted and flavor along with the awesome spicy sauce! I would definitely come to try other items.

Stopped in on a Monday morning at 10:40ish and there was a line but it moved pretty fast. Iced Honey cardamom latte was excellent, and the Petite French toast was good. Would come back for breakfast!

Cute coffee shop with pastries in Dumbo! I ordered the empanada which was good, but didn't love the pasty! I'll be back to try other items on the menu!

Fantastic coffees and friendly service. Get. The.Chocolate.Croissant. Say yes when they ask to warm it up.

A cozy brunch/breakfast spot located in the heart of dumbo. I love a place that does an iced vanilla latte well and this place does not disappoint. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich on biscuit with sausage and egg and it was super tasty. Additionally, I recommend sitting by the window so you can get cute pics of the Brooklyn bridge in the background.

I stopped into Butler when I was in Dumbo a few weeks back for a QSR breakfast, and it was a great experience! Not too busy, but never not busy, once ordered food came quickly, and the view of the Bridge is excellent, and a lovely way to start a morning if you want to sit quickly. Prices are super fair as well! Cozy inside, and kind Brooklynite staff. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which I totally recommend! it's made with truffle aioli on a scallion brioche and completed with a sunny-side egg, bacon, and cheddar. The truffle aioli plays off of the other ingredients quite effectively. On the side, I ordered the corn muffin and also had a taste of the sticky date muffin. Both of these were pretty good, though a bit more moisture in the muffin would've been preferred for my palette. Cute spot to pop into - recommend for sure!

Coffee was worth the wait. If you are trying to do tourist things come here very early order a coffee to go and take pictures here. The ice coffee hits the spot before work always, or if you have time to work from home and want a good place to enjoy an espresso with something light on the side this place is worth it.

Cute spot, front cashier service was good-- I'm lactose intolerant & just ordered the avocado toast (not having anything previously or after this) I hate giving out bad reviews but I got a really bad case of food poisoning ... I have been ill and honestly it could have been anything. The presentation of the food was really cute, I asked the cook if there was dairy and he said no so I'm not sure what it was. My friends enjoyed their food ... I however didn't .. I'm sorry

Went to this place on a whim after watching the sun rise on Brooklyn Bridge Park! You can see Brooklyn Bridge from the windows +for the location Everything Cruffin * , it's a mix of a croissant and a muffin which was both flakey and crispy, also messy. I wish it had more cream cheese and the fennel seeds were quite overpowering. However, it's a good first try

Food was good. Ambiance awesome. Minus 1 star due to not receiving complete order. Not sure if I would come here again, but definitely a cool spot

Cute bakery vibes and I liked their pastry and lunch options! The location is nice, so there's a lot of sunlight and view of Brooklyn bridge. Decent amount of seating, but will probably have to wait or grab n go during the weekends. Good food spot around dumbo!

It's rare to find a place that balances a stunning, high-design space with such warm, attentive service. We explored more of the menu this time, and everything was just as impressive. The oysters were incredibly fresh, clean, briny, and perfectly served. Another standout that I'll definitely be ordering again. When you enter there is a bar you can sit at and two large high top tables next to it. As you walk further in there is a lounge with couches and various sizes tables. The whole space is surrounded by books! Heaven! We ordered a chai, matcha and a ginger cookie. Shout out to the woman taking my order for comping me my drink for my birthday! Everyone from the staff was friendly - I really enjoyed being there. The only thing I would say is someone should come by to check on the tables more often as I had to return other people's abandoned drinks. But you know what first world problems, am I right? Maybe they can have a sign or mention to customers to return their own cups before leaving. I sort of can't imagine why people don't... It is quite popular spot so you need to be very patient and strategic if you want to grab a table, as well as sprinkled with a little bit of luck. We unfortunately got there a little late. I went there at 3pm and hunted for a table and my friend got there by 330pm. By the time we ordered and started drinking our coffees - we were informed the lounge area will be closed at 4pm to prepare for the evening wine bar. Oh right this cafe turns into a wine bar in the evenings! How cool! At 4pm we thankfully grabbed one of the high tables - sharing it with another couple but it was large enough for the 4 of us. The lights dimmed and the atmosphere changed to more intimate. We unfortunately had to leave at 5pm, but I imagined picking up a James Baldwin book, ordering some white wine and enjoying both.... Mmm definitely next time. Maybe sometimes after work - sounds like a great wind down.

We tried the melon shaved ice $22 for the large which was a bit pricy but it was quite delicious. We were worried that the large might be too much for two people but honestly we were able to finish it without a problem. The melon pieces were sweet, the ice is milk based so it was creamy and flavorful on its own. We barely used the condensed milk that it came with (and we loved how they put it on the side for us instead). At the bottom of the shaved ice was cereal pieces and mochi which gave a nice different texture. We also tried their drinks specifically their blue lemonade and mango-ade which I thought was just ok. The highlight is definitely their shaved ice. Definitely go for the large as the small seemed much smaller and for double the price, you can get almost 2-3x more. I loved seeing the plants along with hints of pink, orange, and yellow throughout the art and furniture. It's a gorgeous space. Service was good, nothing much to mention. For food, we ordered the royal chai, mango lassi, breakfast kathi-rito, and the condensed milk bun. The standouts were the royal chai and the breakfast kathi-rito. The royal chai was creamy, salty, perfect sweet, and silky. It had notes of cinnamon and saffron, paired with sea salt. I loved this drink. The breakfast kathi-rito was tasty. I loved the potatoes, cheese, egg, avocado, and whatever else was in it. The sauce on the side was delicious. Not exactly sure what it was but it was sweet with a kick. The mango lassi did not have enough mango flavor for me, I couldn't justify paying $10 for it. The condensed milk bun was good but it was similar to any other sweet bun in an asian bakery. I'd pass on both of these. Overall, I'd highly recommend checking out Fontainhas. It'd be a perfect spot to check out if you're in the area for the Brooklyn Flea, or just Dumbo.

I'm sad to say that this has turned out to be a disappointment, catering to the Matcha-drinking Alo-wearing DUMBO crowd. One Google reviewer referred to the cuisine here as "gentrified", which I'm inclined to agree with. The filter coffee was absolutely atrocious - one is not supposed to be asked "with or without milk?" when ordering filter coffee. The paneer sandwich was supposedly made with Amul butter, but any charming nostalgic aspect of this dish was removed by the dry layer of ghas-phus above the paneer bhurji. I am all for fusion as the propeler of culinary innovation, but I do not want to live in a future where Sweetgreen has infiltrated the foods that I hold near and dear to my heart.
