Sixty feet of 2-2-2-4 cable to connect a sub-panel, wired without a ground by the previous owner, to the main panel. The entire run would be in the crawlspace of the home. We would not be replacing EITHER the main nor sub-panel, but may be interested in a replacement main-panel with disconnect - should the work to connect the sub-panel go as planned. After 30 minutes on-site, I got a call from the dispatched electrician. They wanted to charge $968 to run roughly $100 (at my retail pricing at the home-center NOT what an electrician pays in bulk) of cable. I told them I would pass. Then I get the attached chat from the owner via their website. So they get my $149 for an estimate, and I get a lesson in dealing with so-called experts.
