Just don't come here, especially for service. Took my car up there after making an appointment for new tires, the tires weren't there. Rescheduled for the next week, took it, still not there. The 3rd time they were finally there. Less than 5,000 miles later, the front two tires were already completely bare on the inner half. Took it back, they said there's nothing we can do, sorry. I took it to Lowe Toyota in Warner Robins, their service manager said, "yea the front end was definitely never aligned after tires were installed". $600 down the drain. Never, ever, come here. They lost my business and everyone I'm able to tell all over 2 tires. Also if you're looking to buy a car, the sales team sits on golf carts and will drive over and start asking you about trade in value/buying a car. Very overwhelming and annoying, so if you're not into that, also don't come here. That being said, Lowe Toyota Service team is 1,000 times better and more professional than Butler's. read more

Butler Toyota Service has lost my trust. I rarely write reviews, but I am writing this one for two reasons: (1) I believe warning other customers about my experience is the right thing to do, and (2) I hope that one day Macon will have a Toyota dealership service department that operates with integrity. I have been a Butler Toyota customer for more than 10 years and have owned multiple Toyota vehicles serviced there, including a 4Runner, Tundra, and Sequoia. Over the years, I have spent thousands of dollars in their service department. I understand that dealerships charge premium prices, and I have no problem paying more for convenience, quality workmanship, and honest service. Unfortunately, honesty is where Butler Toyota failed. The final straw occurred on June 17, 2026. My wife's vehicle was brought in for service, and I was told that every lug nut on the vehicle needed to be replaced because of safety concerns and the possibility that they could not be removed in the event of a flat tire. Later that same day, I brought my truck in to repair a tire with a nail in it. Once again, I was told that all of the lug nuts needed to be replaced and that the tire could not even be removed because of their condition. What makes this difficult to believe is that Butler Toyota has been the sole service provider for both vehicles for years. They have rotated the tires numerous times on both vehicles during the past two years and never once mentioned a lug nut issue. Are we really expected to believe that all 40 lug nuts on two separate vehicles suddenly became defective at the same time? I returned to the dealership parking lot with my own impact wrench and successfully removed and reinstalled the lug nuts myself without difficulty. After I challenged their diagnosis, the explanation changed. Initially, I was told the lug nuts were "rounding off." Later, I was told they were "swollen." I was still able to remove and reinstall them with no issue. What concerns me most is that Butler Toyota originally intended to repair my tire. However, after I questioned their lug nut recommendation, they changed their position and suddenly claimed it was unsafe to repair the tire. I left the dealership with a nail still in my tire despite having purchased the tires there and despite being sold on the value of their roadside hazard warranty. The following morning, another service department repaired the tire in less than five minutes. As a result of this experience, Butler Toyota has lost our business. We have purchased tires from them, serviced multiple vehicles there for years, and spent thousands of dollars in their service department. Yet despite countless service visits, we were never told that either vehicle had lug nut issues until both vehicles were brought in on the same day. I encourage Toyota to investigate how this service department is representing the Toyota brand. Based on my experience, the service department relies on pressure sales tactics and inconsistent explanations to upsell repairs that may not be necessary. read more

9:40a.m. 5/20/26 (10a.m.appointment) Arrived for service , oil change & tire rotation . Approx 12:30p.m. I was told the truck was ready with the exception that one of the tire studs were stripped in the process and without a lugnut on it, so I could just buy more studs on my own and bring them the receipt so they will reimburse me. My other option was to wait for them to go to O'Reillys auto store to get more studs. . After they made 2 trips to the auto parts store my truck was returned to me in what was supposed to be proper working condition. Time 2:24p.m.. While driving from 2/20-2/23 almost 210 miles the vehicle began to shake , I took the truck to a shop to have it looked over , once in the air the technician could wobble the tire just by hand . i put a $1,000.00 dollar down payment on a new 2026 toyota camry and they let someone else buy it from another dearship. they didn't have the common courtesy to call me and let me know that my car was sold to somone else. i only found out about it when i called to check on my car. the saleesman was curtis mcneal very unprofessional. i wouldn't buy a car from this dearship if you paid me. when you put a down payment on a car that locks it in. but when something happens, the salesman should call you and let you know. read more

I have been reading the negative reviews about Butler Toyota and totally agree. I purchased a 2025 Toyota Camry from this dealership about 2 months ago, and it has been nothing but trouble! The car itself is a piece of junk. It rattles like a 10-year-old truck. The interior is made of very cheap material, and the seats are uncomfortable. That part is on me, as I should have given more attention to the details before purchasing. I relied on Toyota's reputation, and that was a mistake. Now, let's talk about the service department at the dealership. I have taken the car to the dealership three times in two months, complaining about the rattles. Most recently, they claimed that they had found and repaired the issue. I was not three miles from the dealer when the rattles started again! I called the service department several times yesterday and even left messages. No response! If I ever get to the point where I can trade this car without being so upside down, I will stay far away from Butler Toyota! read more

The front undercarriage was loose, was told to superglue it by MARK, my gloriously self-proclaimed "Master Certified Toyota Specialist" sales rep of ultimate POWA. The dealer wouldn't fix it (probably would've taken 10-15 mins). The sales rep tried to justify my paying for it because I was already getting "a good deal" on the price. Also, the rep tried to say it would cost them more money. The sales rep knew nothing beyond the basics of the inside car features. Commented "I'm a Certified Master Toyota Specialist" more times than I care to know. Also, told me I could look in the manual. Couldn't register the car through the Toyota app because the code/QR wouldn't pop up on the display as stated in the app. I asked the rep how we fix that, and his response was "I don't know, we're just the dealership." we then called Toyota Cust Servc. and while we were put on hold, he complained "Oh my God I don't have time for this" while sitting next to me in the car. The dude acted like he hated his job. Walked without purpose, no hustle, and didn't smile once, like I had all the time in the world. I had to go find him multiple times while doing paperwork (I drove over 3hrs one way)--no one there gave a crap. The guy at the end who bundled my paperwork + the lady at the snack station were super nice and friendly. The entire staff was very friendly and all asked if we had been helped and if we wanted water or juice. We had an appt with sales rep Wendy Hollis. Wendy was so professional and helpful. They found one that I liked at another dealership in Georgia. The salesman supervisor refused to even talk about negotiating, expected me to pay full retail and I've never paid full retail on any vehicle in my entire life and I'm 75 years old. They refused to even talk and was very rude so I told them I'd go somewhere else and they tried to tell me to not even try since no dealer will negotiate. I decided to go to McDonough where I had bought my 2010 Tumdra. They negotiated for a price that was about $5000 less than Butlers price and their truck had more features, including being a four wheel drive, Butlers wasn't but cost more. My limited experience is with Butler's "service" department. I've been a Lexus driver for eighteen years, using three dealerships and two small repair shops for our servicing needs, but these folks at Butler are the absolute WORST I have ever dealt with. My check engine light came on so I took my car to a local, trusted mom-&-pop service center in middle Georgia. The diagnostic code was something they told me that a Lexus dealership would have to address. Butler Lexus is the closest dealership to me so I called them. I was placed on hold and no one ever answered. I called back later and talked with a very pleasant, but not very knowledgeable young lady in the service department. She put me on hold while she checked with the senior technical advisor about my issue. She returned to inform me that they could not help me! I called two small repair shops in the Atlanta area that I have a history with, and where I just recently moved from, and both of them said, "No problem! Bring your car in and we'll take care of it!" They were both astonished that Butler lacked the capacity to address this issue. I thought I would try to confirm this with Butler once more. I called and was cut off when I reached the service department. I called back, and the phone rang forever before going to VM but I didn't leave a message. I called back later and asked for the service manager, and was routed to his VM. I left a courteous, detailed message. Never heard back from him. Was a repeat customer, until I bought a 2022 supposed to be certified Tacoma. Less than 12,000 miles! You know, the 170 point inspected ones (hahahaha). Beware of smiling faces. This is a very friendly dealership but their practices are shady to say the least. I bought a truck from them and almost bought an SUV from them, but the second time I walked away. Each time, here was the sales process: Once a sale price is agreed upon, they'll throw in some curve balls. 1) they'll pressure you to use Toyota financing, stating that there is no deal unless Toyota financing is used. 2) they'll insist that the deal also requires financing at a very high rate (for me they said 5% APR even though my credit score was 819). 3) If you don't agree with the high interest rate, they will strongly encourage you to take the loan and refinance later, otherwise the deal is off. They will also insist that you wait 3 payments until you refinance to avoid penalties (to the dealer) from Toyota finance. 4) they won't allow money down since they're after that interest money. If you try to make a large down payment then the deal is off. They will encourage you to take the deal and make a large payment after the loan has started. I've bought about 15 cars in my day and this place was by far the most dishonest. I walked across the street and bought a Lexus instead with no market adjustment, financing through a lender of my choosing, and my desired down payment. read more

We had every intention of giving this dealership 5 stars but unfortunately we were rubbed the wrong way after purchasing a 60K+ vehicle. We drove to the dealership at 5:30pm knowing what we wanted and closed the deal at 10 pm that same night. The salesman and finance manager stayed 2 hours past closing to make sure we took the vehicle home. No complaints here - it was a smooth process. We were told to come back the next day to get the vehicle detailed and they would fill the tank. We have bought 15+ vehicles previously so we knew this was pretty standard. We came back the next day (35 min from home) and they said we probably had to wait to get it detailed so we said can they just wipe down the windows because they were really streaky. We then waited for a different salesman to come out and follow us to the gas station to get fuel. We pulled up behind the only diesel pump (we bought a diesel). The salesman proceeded to put the credit card into the gas pump and fully intended to put gasoline in the tank until we said something. When he realized we would have to wait for the person at the diesel pump, he started cussing and was clearly upset that he had to wait a few minutes. We get to the diesel pump and he pumps $20 and walks away. We questioned it because we didn't know what was going on. He said "We only put $20 in used vehicles" I was shocked and I do not believe we were ever told that, but that wasn't why we were upset. The salesman was rude, in a hurry and disrespectful after we questioned it. We made another trip so that the salesman didn't have to stay any longer the night before (10pm) so I just assumed the trip would be worth it. Let me be clear, the dealership served its purpose with buying the vehicle and closing the deal, but they will lose future business with us after being treated like we were inconveniencing the salesman and just overall very unprofessional and rude. read more

Since I moved over a year ago I have been using Butler Toyota of Macon for all of my car needs. I have always been treated fairly and been helped by a service advisor with no headaches what so ever. This past two weeks I had made a trip out there twice. One Saturday for my oil change which included a check on an error message I received on my car screen. After 2-3hrs later I was advised this was just an error and will go away and no need for any serious diagnosis. A day later the same message popped up " EMP malfunction see your car dealer" I called Butler Toyota of Macon and made an appointment on a weekday since this type of diagnosis could only be done during the week. I dropped my car off at 7:30am. My advisor Mr. Brian H was not there to greet me for my 7:30am appointment. Another gentleman there had to take down my number and I had to sign this paper mentioning what my appointment was for and I left to work on my co workers vehicle. 5 hours later I called since I did not hear anything back from Mr. Brian H. Left him a VM....crickets. I got very anxious since I was not sure when I was getting my vehicle back. He called back a little bit after 12 and told me they have not been able to diagnose the issue and will take longer however it should be completed by the afternoon. I wait until 3 with still not phone call. I call and Ofcourse it goes to voicemail again. I leave a voicemail. My husband calls and leaves two voicemails in the meantime. I finally get a call back as I leave a work at 5pm he mentions to me that they were not able to find out the issue of this message he is unsure what this message is about and they would like to keep the car overnight and work on for another day. At this point they had my car for over 10hours. And they had no idea what the issue was period. They told me if I need a vehicle to drive home they will happily get me a rental for $42 a day. ( mind you they don't know how long I will need this rental ) no loner no accommodating transportation. He also sounds super frustrated that I am asking for any other options. I get there and he was not in the office so I waited for him. He walks in ignores me and starts clicking on his computer. I then look at him and try to get his attention and he the finally says " how can I help you" I mention to him about picking up my vehicle he then asks me to wait outside and closes the door. I wait, wait, and wait some more and finally his service manager comes out hands me the receipt and says " this is from Brian". Brian was too much of a loser to come and hand it to me himself I saw him pointing his finger at me to his service manager to let him know who I was. I felt highly offended and discriminated from his actions that day. Still to this day I have NO idea why he was that rude to me and I don't believe I have said it done anything to him. I just asked for other options than having to rent a car from them for $42. I will NEVER SET FOOT IN THAT DEALERSHIP EVER. I had the worst experience in my life. I wish I could give them a negative star. Oh and turns out the error message was due to the electric breaks being "unplugged" by Butler Toyota of Macon when they serviced my car a week ago. The shop in McDonough diagnosed and plugged it back in in no time and no more pop up messages! They couldn't even do that or figure it out in Macon what a shame! read more

Service in this place awful. We have been customers for over a year and get oil changes at Butler Toyota and Butler Lexus all the time. Today, my wife took her Toyota in for a 7:30AM appointment to get an issue with the park brake checked. She gets there and her service advisor Brian H. isn't in yet (she was told he's usually late). So she waits and eventually she told them she would be late for work and a coworker is there to pick her up so she has to go. The person says it was fine and Brian would give her a call when he comes in. Nothing until noon when she calls to check in and Brian tells her that her car will be ready early afternoon. Come 2:30PM crickets. She calls Butler and leaves Brian a voicemail. No call back. 4PM and she's about to get off work so she calls again and leaves him another voicemail. At this point she's freaking out about not having transportation to drive home all the way to Forsyth so I called Brian and left him a voicemail. Brian then calls my wife at 4:30PM to tell her they couldn't diagnose the issue so they need the car to stay and she needs to rent a car from them. I call Brian and leave him another voicemail explaining that the right thing to do is to give her a loaner since the delay is their fault. He doesn't call me back, instead he calls my wife and tells her "they can't give her things for free". She tells him that's fine I'll just take my car. Brian becomes upset and tells her "fine, wait outside for your keys". He makes her wait of course and then sends his service manager to hand her the car keys because Brian was apparently too butt-hurt about a 110 pound woman not wanting to rent a car from Butler Toyota. Brian of course never called me back because he's a coward. Well, we know we'll be taking our business elsewhere. We'll be happy to drive our 2 cars to McDonough or even Atlanta for our car service needs and we know where we are not buying our next from. read more

I purchased a used van from here. The big problem I had was service after the sale. I purchased the van and I only received one key. Negotiations of the sale included another key. I was told that the previous owner of the vehicle would return the key and then I would retrieve it. Danny the sales man stated he would work on getting me the other key. Well a month past and I spoke with Danny and he said that the other owner was probably not ever going to return the other key. So he stated that they, the dealership, would get another key made up. Well a month past and I get a call from Bob the manager who stated that they were only able to make a valet key that doesn't have the electronic key fob programmed. I told him that I was promised another real key not a valet key. He said they are $400 and they would only be able to get me a valet key. FYI another key is only $150. At no time during this key fiasco did they ever state they would get me a valet key. It was always understood during conversations that a electronic key would be what I was going to get in some form. Shame on them for not honoring their word. Also shame on Danny for not telling me himself about them screwing me. If you read another previous review you will see that Bob the manager has also screwed some one else. read more

I recently encountered one of Butler Toyota's drivers when he was moving a Black Camry down I-20 in South Carolina. The driver was operating the car in excess of 90 MPH and left the roadway while distracted. He also used his phone on the road in GA. They need to have better driver training to keep from endangering the lives of others on the highway. I haven't purchased anything from them, but would encourage them to train their drivers more effectively. read more

Very very terrible experience there !! I went there just to have a look around at what they had. A salesperson named Brooke (almost sounds like a made up name, but is what's on her business card) dealt with me. She and her boss were very unethical and rude. They forced me into showing them my vehicle to possibly trade in even though I said I was not particularly interested in trading in. She took out her phone and took pictures of my vin number tag on the inside driver door panel. I did not authorize her to do that. They asked for my keys after we got seated after that so that they could test drive my vehicle. I thought I was dealing with fairly honest people so I obliged with what they were asking. Just innocent and didn't know any better. I thought the boss was coming to get me to drive my car with me in it. Instead, while I was waiting at a strategically placed table (in retrospect) with the salesperson, the boss snuck outside without me seeing and test drove my vehicle and did whatever else in my vehicle without me having a clue. When I finally realized, what was happening and rushed outside, infuriated, he said "go drive around the block and cool off and come back." I went back inside and sat down and was livid. The saleslady sat on the other side of me and I handed her an earful. No curse words at all, just a respectful, livid talking to. She abruptly got up, went inside feeling embarrassed at their nasty unethical behavior, and lied to the manager of the dealership (a third person) that I called her a "dirty b****". The manager apologized to me and said that she didn't believe that I said that. I didn't get the name of the boss; the one who was so wretched and wicked as to go into a stranger's car unknowingly and drive it around. That was my distasteful, nauseating, almost vomit-causing experience at Toyota Butler in Macon, Georgia. Unethical and unlawful people. read more

Sometimes you have to shake hands with a lot of frogs before you meet a prince. I think I have found an honest auto sales person, Brandon Lee. He took time to find the car I wanted and spent time teaching me how to use all the gadgets in my car. I am not so sure about all the managers. The first one I spoke to was a FROG but the second one was great. (They reportedly have 9.) My male neighbor went in to talk about prices and was able to get a better price than I was originally given. I think Jerry, who works in Service is honest. He and the mechanics at Butler kept me going on my mail route for the 7 years I owned a Sion XB . Not an easy feat! If Larry is not in I like Brian Hatfield.
