First time here and I was pleasantly surprised how good the croissant was to go. It seemed like a traditional croissant very flaky very airy with a great flavor. It was a nice little place and the customer service seemed very nice and inviting. I was in a rush to get something to go today so I didn't get much time to evaluate it for this review, but my early impressions are that this is a nice place to grab a sweet French pastry. The coffee and cappuccino drinks also look quite promising. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu. Thank you for the inviting service.

We stopped by Butter & Fold on a Saturday morning and found it pretty empty. The interior had a sleek, modern vibe with both counter and table seating. I chose a Maple Latte and Strawberry Goat Cheese Danish. My latte was nice but the maple element was extremely subtle. I really liked the flavor combination of the Strawberry Goat Cheese Danish. However, it wasn't a mind-blowing pastry. Service was reasonably quick and the guy at the counter was friendly. Overall, this spot got the job done!

I stopped here for a quick hot drink before seeing my next client. I ordered a small unsweetened hot chai. The drink was okay. The thing that bothered me the most was that the Latte art was lacking which is not a huge deal if it was topped with spices or cocoa but it was a sad looking drink. I expected a prettier drink for the price I paid.

Adorable little spot. The mocha was a bit different as it wasn't super sweet, which I really liked. Great vibe here.

service was sweet & friendly. they explained the menu with patience. we ordered an iced americano and iced late with vanilla syrup. they also have an abundance of unique syrups that i can't wait to try. the americano was a bold roast and not too acidic which was pleasant. as for the pastries, i do not recall the names however the one pictured on the top right was my favorite. it was flaky and buttery while the bottom one was light & airy with lemon custard. it was also nice to see the pastry chef making them in house while we ordered. we chose to dine in and enjoy our treats. it did have that European vibe & it was a nice way to enjoy a fall weekend. will be back

It is so cute in here, but I'm unsure if it justifies the cost. For almost $9 with tip, I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and maple syrup as a sweetener, and the drink was only 12oz. I do really like that they have a pretty extensive list of sweeteners and that they have maple syrup since that's my favorite and not always available. The matcha quality was good, and the baristas working were really nice, but I probably wouldn't come back alone just due to the price. Would be such a great place with good vibes to hang out with friends though!

Such a quaint little shop. I ordered a vanilla chai and a lemon curd pastry. My chai wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting a little more spice, it was good, but I will order something else next time. I feel like my pastry was a little over baked. It was very crunchy. But the lemon curd flavor was spot on. The gentleman that helped me was super helpful with letting me know which pastry was which.

A lovely small coffee shop with delicious coffee and sweet staff! Not too much seating inside so it fills up fast especially in the mornings but if you can grab a table it's the perfect place to work from. They have free wifi, just ask the staff for the password. A good amount of charging ports but they are mainly by the window seating so if you need to plug in keep that in mind! Always come here for a quick coffee/pastry when I'm in town!

Butter & Fold gives me all of the feels, they are like a hallmark coffee shop from the movies and it just makes me feel transplanted somewhere else for day. I love the design and aesthetic of this place. It's cozy and inviting but trendy without feeling pretentious. They have really perfected the cozy little neighborhood coffee shop vibes in the best way. I'm lucky I actually found this coffee shop through a Yelp event/experience awhile back and this spot has stayed on my mind. I am not a huge coffee drinker but sometimes it does hit the spot. Came in this morning for a little pastry and coffee after the gym to keep my momentum up for the day. After a hard workout I was crashing a little and needed some coffee. I grabbed their iced pumpkin pie latte and a vanilla latte for a friend. Their coffee here is subtle and flavors aren't overdone. I am not a huge coffee drinker or expert but it always hits the spot here for me. What I truly love even more than their coffee if I am being honest is their baked good and pastries. Now these delicious bites I can get behind and would regularly come in for more often if I just lived a little closer. Their pastries here are so buttery and clearly baked with love. I've been obsessed with every bite I've ever gotten from here. This AM I tried a plum and cheese danish and oh Lordy it was a 10/10. You can't go wrong with any of their fresh baked goods here. The staff and service are always stellar! Always welcoming and just a feel good friendly vibe. Aside from the tasty bites I'll say everyone being so lovely here is what will also keep me coming back. I appreciate the service and the staff that make this place such a feel good vibe. Service is also a definite A+. My only slight critique is I find the prices to be a tad bit high. Two small iced lattes and a pasty $20. $6.50 per drink feels a little steep give the size of the cup but I understand they are a small business competing with those big name brands nearby. While I don't think my wallet will allow me to come all of the time, I recognize I'd rather put my money here then somewhere else as the goods are quality and the staff are absolutely deserving. Likely since I'm not a huge coffee gal it's just harder for me to justify $6+ a coffee than most. I just had to say it as I stay true to my reviews but overall I really do love Butter & Fold and will definitely be a repeat customer.

Cute little cafe with French pastries. The selection of pastries is not huge, but they are good. Butter croissant is buttery and flakey.

This seriously addicting coffee shop, which started in Santa Barbara, has been a Ventura favorite for quite some time now, and it's been so fun watching them grow. Nestled in a charming converted cottage, this cozy café is the perfect addition to Downtown Ventura. When I stopped by over the weekend, they were insanely busy so I wasn't able to capture much of the space itself for photos but I can promise you it's a cute spot. We opted for outside table dining and it was lovely. To order you stand in line and then order at the counter, they'll bring the food back to your table, but they will call you up to grab your drinks. We ordered a couple of iced lattes and their famous Bella Rose - iced matcha, which was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious. 10/10. Their drinks are truly little works of art and always worth ordering. To finish off brunch, we grabbed a couple of bagels. One of my favorites is their toasted bagel with tomato, avocado, and cream cheese, it's simple and so satisfying. Next time I'll be trying one of their fruit bowls. The staff here are absolute rockstars. They crank out drink after drink with a smile on their faces while keeping the atmosphere welcoming and fun. We always love stopping by, and if you haven't been yet, consider this your sign to check them out and support a fantastic local business.

What left me uncomfortable was the service. Throughout the meal, I felt singled out and dismissed in ways that were hard to ignore. Staff were outwardly polite and seemed to be making an effort to be friendly, but the interactions often felt forced and noticeably different from the way other customers were being treated. Requests seemed to be met with impatience, and I repeatedly got the sense that I wasn't being welcomed in the same way as others around me. One example was when we asked if a finished plate could be removed to make room for new dishes that had just arrived. The request was met with hesitation, and it felt as though taking the plate was an inconvenience. Later, when I asked for to-go containers, the employee handing them to me appeared visibly strained to be courteous. It was one of several interactions that left me feeling like basic requests were being tolerated rather than accommodated. I can't speak to anyone's intentions, but the overall experience left me feeling unwelcome despite the surface-level friendliness. I came away wondering whether bias played a role in how I was treated. What stood out most was the contrast between how we were treated and how some others were treated. From where we were seated, I observed other customers receiving noticeably warmer service, including more smiles, friendlier conversation, and a more welcoming attitude. My party did not experience that same level of warmth. The food itself was very good, but the service experience would make me hesitate to return.

Due to that, we switched gears on what we ordered. Iced americano: phenomenal. Very smooth yet bold and refreshing Paneer dosa: a bit of a let down for me. I was not expecting it to be a plain dosa and chutney on the side. Masala dosa: this was better since it was filled with potato. Chicken sandwich: loved this, very juicy and balanced. Side of fries was excellent. The sandwich is small, just bigger than a slider. Finished in 4 bites. Fries with gunpowder: when we got this, it looks exactly like the regular fries. We figured they mustve forgot that we asked for gunpowder seasoning. We went back to ask for more seasoning, expecting them to just sprinkle it on. They were kind enough to remake it and bring it to us, which was very thoughtful. This time we could see the seasoning, but unfortunately they didn't taste any different. Don't get me wrong, the fries themselves were great- amazing crispy texture, but adding seasoning didn't do anything for them. Overall the hits were the Americano and Chicken Sandwich. Service here is fantastic, and the vibe is awesome as well. This is somewhere I'd stop for a small bite, but not the fill up.
