I first visited this marina 29 years ago, and I'm happy to report it's still going strong! There's something truly special about a place that stands the test of time, and this spot has done exactly that. While it has likely changed hands a few times over the decades, the charm and character that made it memorable all those years ago are clearly still alive and well. On my original visit, I enjoyed a great dinner and even rented a jet ski for a fun run out on the water -- the kind of experience that sticks with you for nearly three decades! It's rare to revisit a place from your past and find that history hasn't swallowed it up, but this marina has managed to hold onto what makes it special. If you're anywhere near this part of Georgia, this is absolutely a must-stop destination. I proved the damage to my vehicle with pictures and by immediately reporting the incident to the manager of Bubba Gumbos. It was nearly 7 at the time and the marina was closed so that is why I called him the next day. The Bubba Gumbos manager saw the beam sticking halfway out in the parking lot as shown in my picture and he is the one who pushed it back on the trailer bed. I have no idea why it was sticking out dangerously as shown on the picture. It was around 7 and the sun glare made it hard to see as shown in my pictures. You can see the attitude and extreme lack of care in the owners response. I was always polite and respectful so that is a blatant lie saying I was belligerent. I have all the texts between us and am happy to share. Their negligence damaged my vehicle and I ran in front of another vehicle that nearly hit the beam right after me preventing a second accident within just a few minutes. I even offered to split the repair costs to which I received no reply at all. I tried to work with him, but he treated me extremely unprofessionally. We were planning to eat at Bubba Gumbos that night and had been looking to take a boat out to Little Tybee while on our trip, but will never use this marina or eat here. What a great beach day! I went to the middle beach. It took a little time to find parking, which was a pain. I found a nice spot in the sand set up shop and enjoyed the waves. It's not crystal clear water, but it is clean and accessible. read more

Great Staff, wonderful restaurant on site. Best full service marina around with hoist, fuel and easy access.

Totally love this place we come done every weekend we can. Food is amazing. Lots of boating fun and dolphins nearby.

This is a great marina, large front space with restrooms, a few food places during the summer and picnic tables if you want to bring your own. And then the pier itself, relaxing walk with plenty of benches for people to sit and watch. At the end of the pier, plenty of fishing space. Love our marina! Oh and underneath some room to sit in the shade or out of the rain or take great pictures. read more

Disaster. We reserved a boat for Memorial Day weekend, 7 of us in 2 vehicles travel 1.5 hrs to get there and they tell me the boat is not available because it was acting up the day before. So I ask what's plan B? Nothing!! The whole marina only has 1 boat to rent....that's it!! No jet skis either, even though they advertise it and have signs up. He tried to call the mechanic, which for some reason on Mem Day weekend was off, but he never shows. Instead of fixing it the day before, or even having the common decency to call us so we could make other plans, he just blows it off like it's no big deal. Just ruined the day!! The whole marina was just dirty and really sketchy looking!! Beware!! read more

Tybee Island Marina is a wonderful place for transient mariners to stay. Patrick Burns is the dockmaster and his motto is "We do the work so you can have the fun." Patrick and his crew are very considerate and show so much energy to go out of their way to help the boat owners. They even wash the sides of your boat and flush out the outboard before putting it on the trailer. I WILL BE BACK TO ENJOY ALL OF THIS AGAIN. read more

Quoted one price, then charged 3 times the amount after we signed our credit card receipt.

Owner Paul and his son are very nice. We rented a pontoon boat from them and it was very nice and clean. They are hassle free to deal with. They are super flexible and accommodating. We went with our two babies. Needless to say the babies decided to have their meltdowns mid-trip. So we decided to go back in an hour early. The owners refunded our money for that hour. They were very apologetic that our trip didn't go as planned even though there was no reason for them to apologize. I would def recommend this marina to anyone looking to rent a pontoon boat. read more
