Late night drive thru for Donuts and sliders... cant beat that.. We even share with our Uber Driver, lol.

Absolutely delicious! If you like Krispy Kreme ( which we don't have in this area) then you will love them. Not quite as sweet, which was fine with me but buttery and melts in your mouth! And they are open 24 hours. Any time you have a craving you can get them... This could be dangerous!! read more

I give this place 2 stars because donuts are always hot. But there king cakes have went down hill cut into several pieces and no filling or cream cheese. Like they skip over sections. When you pay 20 for a cake you expect it to be filled. Place is always dirty also. read more

I've reviewed this place in the past and I will say the experience has improved quite a bit. It really has. The food is always good because come on, it's 24/7 and if you're hungry past 10pm, well you'll be here. Be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait going through the drive thru though. And it still, is expensive for what you get. Considering the ButterBurger Combos are basically White Castle and I can live like a king with a 4$ budget there. read more

I found this place accidentally at about 3:30-4:00 am today looking for coffee at a McDonald's ( which ironically was next door and closed! ). I was suffering from what felt like near hypothermia from camping at the Girl Scout camp nearby, and when I walked in and told them that I was merely searching for hot coffee because I was freezing to death and couldn't stop shivering , the ladies serving were super sweet and very kind!! I ended up ordering food (biscuits and sausage gravy --- which was fantastic!). I also got some donuts for a family member who was not freezing to death and still at the camp, and have not tried them yet, but they look and smell great! Really haven't eaten their food, except for the sliders, which were tasty but a little too greasy. But their doughnuts are very good, and the buttermilk doughnuts are absolutely the best I've ever eaten. Service is always friendly. read more

I give Better Krisp a 4 star because their donuts are off the CHAIN but their King Cakes are dry and hard ........like a big dried up cinnamon roll, nothng like their donunts. A fan for their donuts but not their King Cake!!!! read more

ill pick butter crisp over that nastey mcdonalds next door. Everytime i think ill go to smackdonalds i see the crisp and go and get me some bbq beef on a bun some cajun fries and a coke and maybe a breakfast in a bowl on the side and CALL that breakfast. i love it everytime never gets old. and the bluberry cake donuts are worth waiting till Saturday and Sunday. i wish they had them everyday. if that were the case there would be another star or two added to this one. read more

The Buttercrisp Diner has the best doughnuts in Covington and really great food too!!! I love the Elvis Old school theme and the incredibly nice staff where the owners even talk to the customers and have nice conversations. They joke around and create the perfect fun atmosphere to eat the perfect doughnut. read more

Butter Krisp was always the bomb over the years. Unfortunately, the last few times I bought doughnuts, they had very little filling but they were huge. The croissants and burgers are still great though. Doughnuts have gone down hill, at least the crème filled kind. read more

I am a manager of a local restaurant. Many nights I work late and want to go somewhere to grab something to eat. So I usually go to Butter Krisp. Always open late night. I have to say every experience I've had there has always been very pleasant. The food is always great and hot. The service is always very fast and polite. The glaze donuts are so delicious they melt in your mouth! Great job to the owner. Glad your on the North Shore! read more

Nothing like having a fresh hot donut, so soft, melting in u mouth. U will never want a another donut out of a box after u have these! All the girls are super nice and pretty funny when the mood strikes them. There hours are great, so if u coming home late and want breakfast for dinner, they are open. read more

If you need a greasy dinner for that rough morning this is a good hit. They are known for their donuts but the standard breakfast fair is pretty decent. Parking is tough but theirs a drive through if in a hurry. Not a first date joint by any means but if your the area and craving some good hasbrowns it's worth hitting up. read more

Butter Krisp has been a covington staple for a loooong time now. When I lived there I ate the ever loving shit out of their donuts, and only recently went back to revisit their glory. If you haven't had a good donut, I'm not sure if I can properly describe my enthusiasm about them to you. Let me put it this way though: Krispy Kreme - bottom of the barrel, these are more or less styrofoam rings glazed with what appears to be a thin mixture of powdered sugar, whale semen, and baby's tears. A step up from there is Dunkin' Donuts. Bearable indeed, and some of them are actually pretty tasty, but it isn't among my favorite places to go for a sugary breakfast. Cafe Du Monde - not donuts per se, but if you want a doughy sugar-covered snack for breakfast, this ranks right under Butter Krisp. Then of course, there is Butter Krisp. The plain glazed are fantstic, but the chocolate covered cream filled ones were always my favorite growing up. Thick, gooey bavarian cream is crammed into this donut so hard that it screams the safe word. Then half of it is dipped into a sort of chocolate fondant icing sort of thing that hardens your nipples instantly upon contact with your tongue. Their lemon and jelly filled ones are great as well. They have little burgers and stuff that are decent too, but go for the donuts. The main reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5? Donuts are highly overrated and horrible for you, and should be enjoyed in heavy moderation. Keep that in mind, you donut-porkers who hit this place up every day. read more

Butter Krisp used to have hands down the best donuts anywhere, but goodness.... something has happened there. The last several times we have been, the donuts have been AWFUL. The first time it happened, we thought, well, it's 5am, maybe it's just too early to have hot, fresh donuts. They tasted like they had been re-heated and had no sugar on them. They were glazed donuts. Yesterday, I took my 95 year old grandmother because she has been asking me for a month to take her to get donuts. We picked up a dozen through the drive-thru. I specifically asked when I ordered if they were fresh and hot and the girl said yep! My grandmother was so excited!! We got them and got all the way home and opened them up and they were awful..... again, they looked like they had been heated in the microwave. The sugar had been melted off. Not sure what has happened, but we won't be back. As a lifelong resident and small business supporter, I'm super bummed to have to find a new spot for my family. read more

donuts are good, just slow down, too many and your guts will make you regret it! only complaint are prices, theyve gone up to over $9 a dozen, it cant cost that much to make donuts.... if anything your traffic will be cut down and you wont sell as much, bad business plan on that one. read more

I came there last night for a friend and when I got to her house, it was all wrong and I called and talked to someone and she said to come back tomorrow and they will fix it and she took my name and phone number down .. Well here it is tomorrow, and I went in and ask for donuts and told the girl that someone was to leave a note. And she came back and said they could not do that, my friend can not drive and her son loves them and they live all the way in hammond. Now she said that she will never ask me to get anything. She upset and am very upset.. You should not tell ppl one thing and when there get there tell they something different.. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE :/ After being a local customer all my life, I've never had a worser expierience! I went thru the drive- thru, tried to place my order, i couldnt hear her, and hardley understood this lady. Got to the window after waiting for about 25 min, she didnt even kno wut i had, overcharged me, & told me to pull up for my drinks and milkshakes? After waiting another 10 min, i went inside. I stood at the counter for about 15 min being recognized but not acknowledged. Finally, i get to the counter, and wait some more, other ppl waiting& get the matter resolved. Had to wait still tho to get my money back and shakes, in the meantime, a guess a gentlemen saw i was upset after nearly waiting 45 min in all, and asks if everything was ok... i told him not really& he hessitates togive me the managers name and trys to talk me out of making a complaint...not after that horrible experiance. I LOVE Butter Crisp donuts, but the service sucked :(! It makes me never want to go bk. We need a full service donut shop, fully staffed, that will do just as their website states!
