On April 24th, we finally managed to have the shoot after a month of unfavorable weather, as we were planning an outdoor shoot. Stacey came on time and we had an amazing time! But that was the end of the fairy tale, the rest is a horror story! We paid Stacey her retainer before the shoot, and were told to pay the remaining after the shoot, which we did. We paid her the total amount for a full family shot, and she promised to deliver the photos in 7-10 days. Two weeks later, as I never heard back from her, I tried calling her and emailing her, I was unable to leave a voice mail and she didn't respond to my texts. She got back to me a few days later apologizing and asking me to pay the balance minus a rebate as she was late in delivery, and promising to post the photos the next day. I was surprised as we had already paid this woman the total amount. I emailed her back with a copy of my card statement showing that we paid her the full amount already. And since that day we never ever heard back from her. Never. I first thought something happened to her, and I was genuinely worried. Even my husband thought the same. I realized we had common Facebook friends, so I tried to find out if she was fine, after getting a confirmation that she was fine and her family was fine too, I decided enough was enough and I will let everyone know what she has done to us. We emailed and called and texted, but never got a response, and I left her several voice messages as well. This woman has disappeared with our photos and the money from our session. I am horrified that someone so highly praised in the industry in the area can risk her reputation and behave in this way. Not only we couldn't get our photos, she took our time and money. We really wanted to have photos with our son, before he outgrows his baby chubbiness. Stacey knew this very well. This woman is an absolute fraud and do not trust her!! She stole our memories, the one thing we paid her for. Don't trust her, you have been warned!

She worked with him 10+ years ago when she modeled. She raved to me about how great he was and said his were the best photos she ever took. I had seen her model photos years before, but it had been some years. She sends me a sample of her past work with him to prove his skill, I'm impressed. So, I look him up on both Facebook and Instagram. I do a glance over of his work posted and also view his studio. I like. I really like. I then go to his website and schedule my consult. At the telephone consult, I briefly explain my project. I fear my request is out of his scope. It's not, he reassures me there's more to his portfolio than what's posted. He is very clear and business focused. We discuss his rate and services offered. I decline the need for hair & makeup assistance. Given the goals of the project, I opt to handle both on my own. We text a bit after the consult and that's what solidified things. My project would require professionalism, comfort, transparency and positive energy. The call & text convo confirmed that's exactly what he projects and I was in good hands. Within 48hrs of the consult, we schedule the shoot. 50% of the session rate is due prior and the final 50% due the day of the shoot. He emailed me an invoice that allows credit card and pay pal transactions. He suggests that we create a private post so that we can communicate ideas. The night before the shoot, he inquired of my preferences so that he can further personalize my session. He reinforces that he wants it to be fun. (NOTE: I'm dedacting specific details of his prep. I feel these are keys to his greatness and for you to know the specifics to his methods, you should just hire him and see for yourself). Our remote interactions ease my nervousness & assist in establishing a baseline of rapport & comfort. I'm now excited. Day of shoot, we both arrive and it's all smiles. No awkwardness. He meets me at my car and walks me to his studio on the 2nd floor. As he sets up the studio, I apply my make up. We are now in person, and it is clear our interaction is organic. I watch him as he perfects the setting, lighting & angles in prep for the shoot. The shoot itself was no pressure & fun. It was interesting watching him because once behind the camera, regardless of distraction, his face loses all emotion & he falls quiet. He's in artist mode. It's almost like a puzzle or a formula and he's trying to come up with the best way to execute to get the desired result. Similar to that of a mastermind. I found it fascinating to personally witness. I may have gawked. In fact, I'm almost certain I did. After the shoot concludes, he discusses the follow up process and expectations. Again, I'm impressed by his presentation of things. Fancy & very professional. He allows me to take pics of the studio as I previously explained how I Yelp everything. Upon review of my lil rinkydink iphone pics vs his online pics of the studio, his are far better and photography is meant for the professionals. Him, definitely not me. I thank him for taking on my project, and he thanks me for choosing him to execute it. It says a lot for my friend to trust me enough to refer me to someone she regards so highly and it says a lot when, 10+ yrs later he made such an impression that she would choose to refer him over all others she worked with. We part with nothing less than respect. Given my personality, I hop on flights for food so I would most definitely travel to another state for a photographer who is mastery with a friendly professional demeanor. I purchased a LivingSocial for a photo session before my daughter was born to do photos. We emailed a few times and set up a date, 3 weeks after she was born and he picked the location, citing that he had been there before and it was really pretty. He confirmed the Glenview Mansion in Rockville as the location, 2 pm time and even said all we had to bring were big smiles. Our shoot was 10 days later on July 20. We get there and he is late...I see another family there and wonder if that may be him because no one else is at the location. I can't reach him via phone and email him at 3:04 pm asking where he is as we have arrived. Eventually he shows up and greets the other family. We go up and introduce ourselves, ready for our session as well. Peter stares at me, blankly, then back at the other family. I remind him that he picked this location, date and time, I show him the emails and the only paltry excuse he could come up with is "..I guess I double-booked". Ok...well, what do you think his corrective steps were or even his logic for next steps? He decides to go with the other family because they paid full-price. I asked if he could maybe alternate...shooting them and then shooting us...I asked if he could at least get a few shots of just my newborn...(mind you she is three weeks old and it is outdoors in July so it was so hot) a refund, opportunity to shoot some other time...anything to demonstrate that he messed up and wanted to correct it. This man didn't do a single thing. I get it, the people who paid more are worth more to you but if you aren't organized enough to manage your bookings, don't use outside services to book them like LivingSocial! I still see him pop up here and there on the coupon websites and I am disgusted. He walked away from us, leaving us with a "go f-ck yourself because not my problem" attitude and made no attempt to rectify it. He sent me an email afterwards where he offered up this explanation: "I can't offer anything but my deepest apologies this does not happen often but yes it happens. We only double booked twice from 507 vouchers redeemed and I know it's not an excuse. Somewhere along the way the communication got lost. I also apologize for being to firm and couldn't take you on.
