She then added that the Houston Health Department could walk in at any moment. Again, I was not trying to dine inside. I simply wanted to confirm patio access so I could enjoy a coffee outside. I asked if someone would be outside to take my order. She said no. So I asked if she could take my order right then so I could immediately head out to the patio. She agreed, but her tone and demeanor felt dismissive, which made the interaction uncomfortable. At that point, I decided to leave. If the patio is dog friendly, there should be a smoother process for solo customers with pets. A simple, "Yes, the patio is open. Let me take your order now so you can head outside," would have made this quick and easy. Advisory: If you are visiting with a dog, I would recommend bringing another person with you. If you are alone, the ordering process may be awkward, as you cannot remain inside with your dog while placing your order.
