    Golden milk tea with cinnamon
    Christina M.

Cake by to get some tea. They have golden milk tea which used to be so hard to find however, now fortunately I can find it a few places. This cafe is really cute and quaint. On a cool day, it's perfect. The desserts looked fresh and the almond croissant I had was really good. I couldn't decide on what drink I wanted so I ordered both the matcha latte and the golden milk tea. The matcha is on ice and it tasted like most other matcha lattes, better than Starbucks and the golden milk tea was actually my favorite of the two. I will definitely come again! Such a great find. Most drinks and treats are $7 or less. They also have box meals for around $10

Around the time of my birthday earlier in the Summer, I was asked which bakery would I like to have a birthday cake ordered from on my behalf. For me, that's still kind of a tough question as the bakeries I preferred in the past no longer exist... My all time favorite bakery in the cake category was the long gone Patisserie Descours, which had a location on Wirt years ago--truly the best cake I've ever tasted in the entire country. Another bakery I really liked was Acadian Bakery, which was once located on West Alabama. These gems are irreplaceable, but I've also found, over time, that there are numerous other places to get great cake(s). Red Dessert Dive is certainly one of them. After being asked which flavor of cake I preferred, I decided on Funfetti--I really liked the name, design and how it looked. On the website, FUNFETTI is described as "Vanilla Cake with sprinkles baked in. Vanilla buttercream and covered with tons of sprinkles." The sprinkles are multicolored. I have to say I really enjoyed this delicious cake and was kind of sad when it got down to the last slice in the box. After my birthday, a family member took me by the 34th Street location in Oak Forest. If you're traveling East, it's to the left before you get to Ella. I LOVED this spot: the great service, good selection and variety, atmosphere, decor, etc. We went there at night. I wanted to get my own Valrhona Salted Chocolate Chunk Cookie as I had tried a piece of this cookie before and thought it was really good. I love that it's not super sweet--they let the chocolate do the talking. But the sweet/savory balance between the chocolate and salt is appreciated. I also enjoyed the coffee I got there. I thought the lemon poppyseed muffin and orange creamsicle cupcake I sampled were kind of on the dry side. But overall, I would still rate Red Dessert Dive a solid 5/5. Highly recommended!

    That's a TALL cake!

Review is for scheduled pick-up from this location. Note that it's the same principle as the other location in that you basically have to order ahead for full cakes, at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance. I ordered a custom 6" carrot cake. It's a shame that they can only write three words, but it makes sense because these cakes are TALL and not that big in diameter. We custom-ordered with no nuts due to my nut allergy and I was able to devour a slice of the carrot cake with no issues. Reviews of the cake were favorable from all 10 people who got a small slice each (considering the height of the cake, a "small slice" is probably about the same as a normal slice of another cake). I thought the cream was a tad sweet (which probably means it's perfect for some other people), but the carrot cake texture was fantastic. They've been advertised to me as the best cake in Houston. I'm not a cake aficionado, preferring less sweet desserts, but I could believe it. A little on the pricier side, but I'd definitely order a cake from them again.

    Kolache & quiche

Glad to see Red Dessert Dive opened up another location! It's all the same fare and great coffee and pastries as the first location. Tried it out today and was pleased with the consistency. The kolaches and croissants are always such a treat. You can't go wrong with the bacon cream cheese kolaches, and the croissants are very flaky and buttery. The quiche was also very good. Their coffee is also on par with some of the great coffee shops in the area. Another good thing about this location is it has a bigger seating area and a nice outdoor setup to enjoy your treats. Looking forward to coming back!

Very cool that we have a new, spacious location to enjoy. Came in for a morning coffee catch up with a friend and we enjoyed the bright, comfortable space. They also have a nice patio and outdoor area if the weather is cooperating. Large spread of pastries and desserts as you would expect with the name, so my coffee and dessert-loving heart was happy. Typical coffee menu, albeit a bit more on the expensive side when compared with some other local shops. Still, happy to support local and would certainly come back. Service was friendly and efficient. Parking - large private lot (yay!)

This place is adorable!! One of the best coffee shops I've ever been to... I was looking for a nice quiet place to work on a Sunday and came across this place on yelp. It was so worth giving it a try I got a cheesecake and a golden turmeric tea and it was very good too Staff was very friendly I give you this place a 1000/10

Love that this location is so big and has different seating areas. My boyfriend is HOOKED on the bread pudding and days it is even better reheated. The sticky toffee pudding is seasonal but I wish it was year round as it is the best Ive found in Houston

Thought I would give this a try. The coffee and cookies are good the service is pure attitude. I can think of several options within a mile. The place was dirty.

This is now my new favorite coffee shop. I love the ambience and the staff is super sweet! The drinks are made to perfection. I got my go to order of an iced latte with almond milk and they made it soooo well. If you're looking for a cozy, cute and well crafted coffee shop, this is the place to be.

Great place. Staff were wonderful, they were friendly, super helpful and customer focused. Latte was good with a nice espresso flavor. The espresso was not over burdensome, just enough to let you know it was there with a nice roasted flavor.

This place is super nice! The aesthetic is clean and modern, and the outdoor space is just as impressive, spacious, well-kept, and perfect for relaxing. We tried the cheesecake, and it was delicious--creamy, flavorful, and definitely a highlight. The coffee and matcha were just okay, not bad, but nothing standout. Service was definitely on point, informative, welcoming, and made the overall experience even better. Would come back for the vibes and dessert!

    Mother Earth Matcha
    Neja F.

What a charming coffee shop in The Heights! Upon entering, you'll notice a variety of boutique items scattered throughout the cafe, including graphic tees, candles, mugs, and more--definitely worth browsing. While the indoor seating is limited, the spacious backyard offers several tables and chairs, making it very dog-friendly, with complimentary dog waste bags provided. For drinks, we tried an iced Americano with vanilla bean, a cortado with oat milk, an iced oat milk mocha, and the new spring seasonal iced Mother Earth matcha. All were delicious, except for the iced oat milk mocha, which lacked a strong "chocolatey" flavor. The barista was super kind and offered to remake it extra sweet, but even after remaking it, it still didn't quite hit the mark. One thing to note: if you like your drinks on the sweeter side, you may want to ask for extra sugar in addition to any flavoring, as the drinks tend to be less sweet, especially with options like the iced mocha that seemed more cacao-forward with minimal sweetness. As for pastries, we had a chocolate croissant, almond croissant, a Biscoff cookie, and an egg sandwich. All were fantastic, with the Biscoff cookie being my personal favorite! This cafe is definitely worth a visit, and I'll be back to try more items from the menu.

Coconut cream pie I devoured and the delicious iced mocha.
    B M.

Upon entry it is decorated nicely with plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Plenty of delicious dessert options as well as beverages. We sat outside where there was ample seating on deck or grass area. Pet friendly! The coffee was strong and good. The coconut cream pie was phenomenal. Chocolate croissant could have been a tad softer. Will be back.

Step inside and you'll find a wonderfully mixed crowd: tech people typing furiously, students contemplating existential dread over a flat white, fashion-forward creatives in boots so white they defy known urban physics -- and yes, that includes me. One corner of the room is charmingly not quite tidy, as if the café itself were whispering: "Relax. Real life happens here." Industrial ducts snake overhead, large windows flood the space with natural light, and sociability seems to circulate as freely as the air. Now, the coffee: a revelation. The espresso is concentrated civilization -- exactly as it should be -- and the cappuccino is an elegant balance of foam and depth, not one of those half-liter dairy-fatigue exercises from anonymous multi-national chains-that-shall-not-be-named. The staff? Friendly, knowledgeable, and disarmingly competent -- the sort of people who know precisely why this bean tastes like citrus and chocolate instead of simply shrugging at the universe. In sum: Tenfold isn't just a café; it's a microcosm of a city that thrives on difference. A place where everyone, no matter their background, finds caffeine, community, and a seat at the table. For all of that -- the atmosphere, the humanity, the coffee artistry -- five stars, unequivocally.

The listing for this exact location says "pets welcome," so I felt confident stopping by. However, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by two customers fawning over my dog. Before any staff member greeted me or even acknowledged me as a customer, someone from behind the far counter told me that dogs were not allowed inside. I mentioned that their Google listing says pets are welcome, and the response was that it applies to a different location. That would be fine if it were clear, but the listing I checked had this location's address directly underneath "pets welcome." That is confusing and misleading. What made it more frustrating was the lack of hospitality. There was no greeting, no attempt to clarify kindly, no "We're sorry for the confusion," and no effort to offer a solution like helping me quickly order to go. It felt dismissive. Clear and accurate information matters. If pets are not welcome at this location, the listing should reflect that. I drove out of my way based on that detail, and it ended up being a waste of time and gas. Because of that experience, I chose not to patronize the this location but may try another location one day.

I believe the first time I came here. I had some breakfast tacos and an iced latte which I did really enjoy. Today I went, and I had a chorizo empanada, a Horchata doughnut, and the Neapolitan latte. The inside looks really cozy however I didn't stay and eat there since I had my pets in the car. The Horchata doughnut was interesting, was not what I was expecting, but didn't hate it. The Neapolitan latte taste like dessert, was definitely on the sweeter side which the cashier had warned me of. But overall, I really enjoyed it. My beloved Boomtown RIP…read more This pains me to write. Different is certainly not always better, especially when what you had was already working. I much prefer the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. To the people who bought this place, I know your motto is "different is better," but please stop taking that so literally. You do not have to change every aspect of this place to make it different. The best thing about getting your everyday local coffee is seeing the same baristas you've seen over and over again, familiar faces who know you by name. This was one of those places where I'd hate to admit how much money I've spent here, and I did it happily. In just three weeks, our beloved spot, one I would willingly drive out of my way for, has gone so far downhill that I barely recognize it. From the eyesore taco warmer that practically knocks you in the face while you're ordering, replacing a space that once showcased lovely things like fresh flowers and local trinkets, to the disappearance of the wonderful local treats from Sinfull Bakery that kids genuinely enjoyed. At first I thought maybe you were just out, but after three weeks it became clear that expenses were being cut across the board and those items may never come back. And where do I even begin. The new oat milk is terrible. It completely changes the look and taste of the coffee and is immediately noticeable. I won't harp on the change of hours or the change in flavor of your coffee beans, but I feel it must be mentioned because, well, it's noticeable. And now the cleanliness. Spilled taco sauce all over the floor, and when your kid points it out, you know you're in trouble at that point. Dishes piled so high they're overflowing, dirty restrooms. And to be clear, this isn't the staff's fault, there is simply not enough staff to keep up with these things. Never ever in seven years of being a frequent visitor has it been this bad. I also noticed the new coffee packaging, and it's just another reminder that the heart and thoughtfulness that once defined this place are gone. At this rate I half expect robots handing me my latte in a few weeks so you can save a few more bucks. And getting rid of Toast. Even if Toast was an expensive platform to use, it was legitimately so convenient. And dang, if you're going to do away with it, don't replace it with the worst possible ordering system ever, one that doesn't even work. Do you know how many orders I wouldn't have placed if it weren't for Toast? Toast made those orders possible when I didn't have time to wait. Without it, I simply wouldn't have ordered. I understand times are tough for many businesses, but you all were booming. The new online ordering system doesn't work. You may as well do away with it altogether because this one just isn't it. Honestly, I am devastated. You knocked it out of the park in every area, cleanliness, service, food. I never had a single bad item on the menu. The coffee was beyond. When my family moved out of the city a year and a half ago, I still drove 35 minutes one way just to get your food and coffee, over an hour round trip again and again. I don't think you understand how this new direction has driven this place into the ground in a matter of three weeks. Sadly all good things must come to an end.

Beautiful patio outside if this Texas heat wasn't so terrible! Overall I have to give it a 4.2~/5. I think their cake selection is great along with their pistachio featured items
