We were very fortunate that Brandon, one of their drivers, happened to be towing another vehicle nearby. I walked over, and right off the bat, he was warm, approachable, and truly listened to our situation. He asked smart, thoughtful questions to see if he could safely tow both cars at once and he made it happen seamlessly and quickly. When we got back to the shop in Chester, we met Thor, who was incredible. He was extremely empathetic, clear, and upfront about pricing. Knowing our insurance wasn't going to cover it, he generously knocked some money off the bill to help us out. When I mentioned we were entertaining buying a new car, Thor brought up the option of being towed to Redding where there are more dealerships. It was fantastic advice, and Brandon drove us and the vehicle the entire way to Redding. Brandon's hospitality during the drive was second to none. He offered us water, let our girls eat in his truck, was happy to roll down the windows when one of my daughters was motion sick, pointed out interesting things in the landscape, and even accommodated a bathroom break for the kids. When we finally dropped the car off in Redding, he even let my 7-year-old daughter operate the tow truck hydraulics (safely, with his close supervision, of course), which completely lit up her face after a very long and stressful day. Spending that time in the truck made it clear that Brandon is a hardworking, genuine person who loves what he does and truly cares about helping people. I spoke to a really kind and tall guy there. He was super nice. My insurance company had me go back and take photos, making me relive the trauma. The next time they made me go back and retrieve the license plates. This time, the same tall guy told me I didn't have to do that, and couldn't have done it because the car had been removed by the insurance company. I was extremely happy with my experience. I have purchased fuel from them before but never needed any mechanical work.....until now! My truck battery died while I was staying in Sierra City. Called the Chevron station and Josh answered. He was positive and kind. He said that he had my battery in stock and asked if I could be up there before 3:30. I got a jump and drove straight to Graeagle, about a 30 minute drive. Josh checked both batteries and I decided to replace them both. About 25 minutes later they were installed. Josh explained the Interstate warranty to me. He was positive, upbeat and we had a nice conversation. The main mechanic was in and out and he was a helluva nice guy. I used the restroom and it was clean. The pumps have always been clean when I've used them. This is an exceptional business and that small community has a winner there.
