Purchased goods from 76 mini mart. A manufacturer coupon came with the product purchased. The owner refuses to accept the coupon! No where on coupon print does it say limited to participating locations or something akin to such loop hole stipulations. Won't plenty of other gas stations to patron all within walking distance. Stopped in for breakfast. Was impressed with service and food quality and value. The service is a one person operation for cooking and some backup from the other person on the register. They hand you coffee cups and you fill them whilst the make your food. Lots of follow up and great diner style food. Stopped in again today. They have daily breakfast specials. Today was the omlette and it was tasty. Tomorrow is the Beacon breakfast. I had that yesterday and would get it again. Friday is chicken fried and if I'm here I'm getting it. The best food we ate throughout the entire week we were there! The bacon was nice and thick cut! Nice juicy hamburger hand shaped, Definitely NOT frozen patties!!! French fries were nice and crisp. had heard nothing but good things from a friend of mine about the hamburgers she gets at the little restaurant there in the gas station turns out oh we recognize the Coke from another shop ordered our food from one guy paid another guy and then this guy Phil Cheney was the cook they said they needed 10 minutes I came back in 10 minutes they lost the order I asked him do you need another 10 minutes he exploded yelling at me that he didn't even know what I had wanted the foreign gentleman that was working there acted like he didn't know what to do he's the one who took my money nobody took any responsibility So my husband went in and got the food. They didn't give him his french fries, and on the way out, they told him to calm down, and when he turned his back phil keenly called him a cocksucker. I am furious at the whole incident we got our food. My husband turned around and gave it to the dog because he didn't trust him after that so that's 10 bucks out of my pocket down the drain for damn plain hamburger and plain order fries I'll never go back there again it was my first time trying them in the last I would not recommend them and they really should consider getting rid of that dope. read more

This place really does have the best burger in town, and you can get one with a soda and fries for $3.99! The service is friendly, if a little bit gruff at times and the food is pretty damn good considering that it is a gas station. I can attest to the truth of all of the above. 1) best burger? Hell yes. Burger depot is only there as a back-up for when the Beacon is closed. 2) Smoking by the gas pumps? Apparently, some of us think this is completely safe. I am not one of those, but it's worth the risk to enjoy the food. Aside from burgers and other assorted lunch staples, the beacon serves a mean breakfast. Don't be fooled, things are better tasting and more consistent that at the Kopper Kettle. (don't get me wrong, there is a special place in my heart for the KK, which I will describe in that review. I'm just saying the Beacon has better food.) For breakfast, the Chicken Fried Steak is, maybe, the best I've ever had. (I know, I know... that's a one meal day. I only visit Chester twice a year!) The breakfast burrito is pretty good, and even the small one is filling. Don't expect authentic Mexican, though. I have yet to dislike anything from Beacon's cafe. And I don't know anyone else who hasn't been fully satisfied. I've been there with a couple huge groups, and it was smiles and full bellies all around. If you drive through Chester for any reason, you'd be making a mistake by not stopping for a bite to eat. They are closed sometimes at strange times, Try not to cry. read more

This place is great! The prices, the hours, the unexpected dining room on the side where you can enjoy your made to order food!!! I love to come here when Mike is cooking, he is a great guy and makes the best burgers (not everyone understands my strange dietary needs- I have a lot of allergies and he is so great with my food!!!). I eat at a lot of restaurants and burgers are one of my favorite foods, if you are also a burger person...go to the Beacon and have a Beacon Burger, they are tasty and a great value and you might just get to know one of their friendly cashiers or cooks...great people! read more

Just imagine if instead of that little machine that keeps the hot dogs constantly a-turnin at your neighborhood AM/PM, there were two surly women with odd hair flipping greasy burgers on a greasy grill? As for claims of being "the best burger in town" I cannot say. I have yet to eat at Burger Depot just down the road to compare, but I can say that the folks at Beacon do have a tasty burger. And the fries! So crispy and delicious! Seriously some of the best fries ever. The milkshakes are of the fast food variety (mmm, strawberry Quick flavored!), but hit the spot when you're really in the mood to pig out. Onion rings were delish as well. A word to the wise. If you try to remove the odd and almost flourescent yellow stuff from your bun (both sides of course), your burger will turn into mush and you will look and feel like the biggest pig in the world as it squishes and oozes between your fingers.
