I really don't know how to begin this review cause I'm still in shock in what a fabulous hair salon my wife and I found today. We were reffered by my wife's co-worker all we knew is that BV Hair Studio was in Whittier and that it's owner Blanca was really good, so we got their phone number and we adventure ourselves to drive there which for our surprise it was only a 20 min drive from our home in San Gabriel. As we arrived we walked in the salon were we got greeted almost immediately and politely seated in the lounge area, first thing we noticed is that the salon was very clean and spotless something we both liked, there were 3 customers ahead of us so we figured we might have to wait a lot, but honestly the wait wasn't that bad at all, we probably waited for around 15 to 20 mins. Blanca (stylist & owner) gave us some really cool, hip and modern magazines (not the old, ripped, filled with hair residue and out of fashion that you usually find in hair salons) for us to pick our hairstyle, my wife rapidly found her pick eventhough she tought it would be hard since she wanted to keep her hair length. I also found mine's preety quick. Oh I almost forgot they were very kind in offering us cold drinks (soda in this case) since it was very hot outside, though the a/c temperature inside the salon was perfect. Our turn came and my wife went first, she got her hair shampooed and then Blanca begun working her magic, after probably 20 mins she was almost done and my wife looked AMAZING, very modern, trendy, glamorous and georgeous, I was really amazed in seeing how good she looked. I must say that gave me lots of confidence in Blanca cutting my hair, after this she moved my wife to a different station were her assistant (sorry I can't remember her name) started combing and touching up my wife's hair and I could see my wife feeling great and really happy. My turn came and what can I say Blanca read my mind off the back, I didn't have to say much, she hit the note with my hair. I must say she's very talented and gifted in what she does, i also liked her cutting edge style, so if you are like us who like to stay with the latest fashion, trends and looking good, Blanca is your girl!!! The prince range there is amazingly cheap, we couldn't believe it, for both of us we payed around $50 ( a hair product for me included) this was really an amazing deal. Also she takes ATM, Credit Cards, just in case you don't have cash with you! We are super happy of finding this place and such a wonderful and skilled hairstylist like Blanca and her assistant, thank God for them! I came in here recently to get a trim and have my hair texturized for extensions. Blanca (the owner) was unavailable so she asked if I could wait or have Laurie work on my hair. I decided to give Laurie a try and I am happy I did! She did a fabulous job on my hair and understood exactly what I wanted! Most hair salons in uptown charge $45+ for a simple trim but here I walked out paying $30 including tip and my hair looking fabulous! Blanca has taken me from blond strength hair, to brown curly hair, back to red short hair. Even with my hair really short, she is able to add extensions & style my hair like a celebrity. Best hair salon I have ever been!!... Based on the yelp reviews I went there and I must confess it exceeded my expectations!!... In all ways!!... The service was awesome!!... I was treated like a princess!! Also, my hair was exactly as I wanted it to be. But the best part was the price!!! I asked in 3 places in the area and they asked me $20 for straight my hair. In this place they asked me only $10. I tipped her with $5, because my hair was so beautiful!!!... At the end of the day, including the tip I spent $15 in my hair!!... I was in town passing through to my nail salon when it occurred to me to getting hair done. I took a huge risk coming here but, glad I did. Veronica and Blanca are real sweet,patient and LISTEN to you! Which I had a problem with my previous stylist: I'd say dye my hair black with red tints. Veronica was amazing! Hands down better than any stylist I've ever had! She made me feel very comfortable. I originally only went in for trim and walked out with that and a dye. Just what I always wanted. I'll start off by our son is 3 years old and very hyper. We just moved from out of state and we had been looking for a place to take our son for haircuts. Well, WE FOUND IT!!!! Staff is very friendly, the place is very clean and something I didn't see much at other places, you're acknowledged as soon as you come in. We tried out about 3-4 other local places in Whittier and La Mirada and no one had been able to make our son comfortable enough to just sit there while getting his haircut and she does an awesome job. It's not Blanca who cuts his hair it's the lady on the left chair, I think her name is Martha or Mercedes, regardless of her name she does an amazing job and she's very sweet with our son. Now even my husband started getting his haircuts there as well and he's always been a barber type of guy. I recommend this place for anyone. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!! Worst experience of my life! I do not even know where to begin. I had read the reviews on yelp thinking that this was a great place to get my hair done and made an appointment. I had chosen to do an ombré hair color and I took a picture of how I wanted my hair done. My hair was done by the owner of the salon and it ended up looking nothing like the picture and she charged me a lot. I came home, unhappy with my horrible orange,over processed hair, and I cried. The next day,I called the salon to speak with the owner and she was not there it took me a week to track her down, I had to practically stalk her everyday and constantly be calling everyday. Finally, I had was able to get a hold of her and I told her that I was unhappy with my hair and she said no problem that she would fix it. I went and she wanted to charge me to fix my hair!
