Came here to pick up some goodies for dad and to check it out. Upon entering I was impressed by the many chocolate truffles that were on display ready to be purchased. They also had a variety of pastries as well including cakes. I grabbed a bag of cookies that had different types in there. For like 6 cookies it was $7. Not bad. Dad ended up liking it. As a diabetic it's sometimes hard to find good, sugar-free goodies but this place did not disappoint! The set up is a little weird, kind of feels uninviting at first. There's a bunch of refrigerators that line the wall and at the time when I went in, nowhere to sit which was fine because I was taking everything to go anyways. There's cookies and turnovers, cakes, eclairs, lemon bars, brownies and even some chocolate. One of my favorites is German chocolate cake so when I found out this place had the sugar free version you know I had to be get it and it was phenomenal! I kept saying to my fiancé, this is sugar free?! I also shared everything with my dad (also diabetic) and he was shocked as well! The coconut cake and tiramisu were very yummy, too! I will say the tiramisu didn't have that much of a coffee flavor which was fine with me but could be an issue for others. This was a surprise birthday gift from my hubby to me. Being diabetic, it's been really hard to get a birthday cake for me. He drove an hour there and an hour and a half back just to surprise me. He bought me a banana bread and a vanilla cake with strawberry The banana bread was a little dry but the taste was still good. It was a little more solid than we were used to. The birthday cake was fantastic. It was moist and soft and the cream was delicious!!! There was a layer of strawberry jam in it. And I can't stop saying how delicious thay was. They have quite the selection of baked goods & chocolates... just like their name says, SUGAR FREE. Cannolis, cupcakes, mini 4" cakes, creme brulee, cookies, cheesecakes, eclairs & so much more. We tried their creme brulee & chocolate cake, and coming from someone that's not sugar free... you can't even tell the difference at all. They use whole wheat flour & xylitol as sweetener. Had a really pleasant experience. It's a little off putting when you first walk in due to the large refrigerators it almost seems like you're somewhere you aren't supposed to be. I picked up a few things from there and was not sure how they would taste, since it was all sugar free. I first took a bite out of Tiramisu and Carrot cake and I could not believe the flavors. I have long been searching for a bakery that sells great tasting sweets with low sugar and the search may finally be over. What's better than low sugar.....how about NO sugar! Yes, that's right the Bye Bye Sugar Bakery is a NO sugar bakery that serves tasty sweets that are diabetic friendly. Although I myself am not diabetic, I have several members of my family that are and thus this place is great. About a year ago my father in law passed away from a battle with diabetes that caused numerous health issues beforehand and really acted as an eye opener for me and my wife. This place was a great find and the prices are also quite reasonable. The Bye Bye Sugar Bakery is located in the city of Lake Forest off El Toro in a large center between Muirlands and Rockfield. The girl that works here is very friendly and will answer any questions you may have on any of the goods in house. DO NOT let the name fool you and think that the goods will be tasteless as this is far from the case. On both trips I have had to this place I opted to get a variety of tasty treats to share amongst each other. We have ordered the Fruit Tart, Creme Puff, Napoleon, Eclair, Cannoli, Tiramisu and my wife even had the iced mocha. All of the goods have been great tasting and you would not realize that all sugar had been removed and replaced by Xylitol (a diabetic friendly sugar substitute also found in dentist approved gums). The prices for a typical sweet treat are between $3-4 and they also offer larger treats such as full size cakes and pies (can also be purchased by the slice). All pies must be ordered in advance but I definitely have my heart set on trying the Blueberry Cream Pie at some point. The treats are also not small and they give you very nicely sized pieces (especially the Tiramisu). If you are health conscious and want to enjoy the sweeter things in life without having to worry about the sugar intake this maty be a place for you. I have had zero luck finding anything else like it and for the price and health benefits this will be my place going forward when I am in the area. Check this place out! read more

I am so happy with the products I purchased. First, I ordered a German Chocolate Cake for my uncle's 93rd birthday - and if you are a coconut lover, this cake is fantastic. It was moist and flavorful and we devoured the entire cake. I picked up some peanut butter cups, dark chocolate with almonds, some chocolate chip cookies, brownie and almond cookies. The almond cookies were delicious. I haven't eaten the brownie or chocolate chip cookie yet, will share with my aunt and uncle tomorrow. I'm one of those guys who believe that salt and sugar should be their own food groups which is why I love this bakery. Though someone once told me that it may be sugar free, it's not calorie free - I DON'T CARE. I don't like the idea baked goods from the area grocery stores so driving down the 405 towards Wagon Wheel, I cut over multiple lanes of traffic because I remember this bakery from one of my visits to the "adult" beverage store in the same plaza. I leave with two boxes plus a bag of cookies of sugar "free" goodies that includes: cupcakes and Cannoli's and a few other things I don't remember the names to. Extremely upset. I had planned to come here for weeks to get myself a treat on my birthday since I'm diabetic and can't have sweets. We showed up during business hours mid day to find that the store was closed. I sat outside of the store on my birthday having just drove 2 hours just to find them closed when their posted hours and online hours said they were open. No closed sign or anything just door locked with all the lights turned off. It's hard enough to find somewhere that does anything sugar free. Fix your service. I have always had a major sweet tooth and love to bake, but recently I've been trying to curb my sugar intake after reading a lot of the damning research on its adverse health effects. (Side note: After 11 days of consuming no added sugar, I had a piece of chocolate cake and - in addition to feeling hyper, jittery, and anxious immediately after eating it - I experienced a hangover-esque combination of nauseau, irritability, fatigue, and headaches. This stuff is no joke!) Honestly, the reason I visited the bakery in the first place was 90% doubt/intrigue - I didn't believe baked goods made with xylitol could taste realistic - and 10% chocolate cravings. I decided on the brownie, which was $4.60, and can happily say that my curiosity paid off! The brownie was moist, chocolatey, and also a decently sized square. As someone who's made countless batches of homemade brownies, I can confidently say that if I fed that brownie to an unsuspecting victim, they wouldn't know anything was different. The only minor difference I could observe was that the brownie was a little less dense than a fudgy-style brownie made with sugar (it was more the texture of a rich, tightly-crumbed cake).
