I cannot believe we found a place with sugar-free pastries and cookies! Most importantly, they taste amazing! OMG *dream come true* The locale is not what you'd call pretty nor would you want to hang out there because it's "cozy" but they succeed at their daily mission: create sugar free delicacies. And the staff is very helpful! Granted, they use the sugar alcohol xylitol so they don't take away ALL the calories but it sure helps. We saw their nutrition facts chart and it truly is amazing how the calories in these pastries are significantly reduced! So far, we have tried the Thumbprint Raspberry Cookies, Fruit Tart, Apple Strudel, and the Napoleon. They all far-exceeded our expectations! I'm not going to say you won't be able to tell the difference because you will... but it's a good difference: you won't get that super bloated feeling you get from eating full-sugar pastries! We've driven by this place several times & finally decide to stop. Picked up some cookies, a brownie, cake, and some chocolates to try. Not sure what to think... it seems a bit pricey. The girl helping us had quite an attitude - clearly not at all suited to customer service today. The chocolates were quite tasty, though. Found this location which is a bit of drive from where I'm from. The pictures looked appetizing but when I arrived it was very underwhelming. The selection on a Saturday was a bit limited. The items were mediocre at best. I could have easily found the same items in my local grocery store under the sugar free section and would be much more fresh. Honestly, the items were a bit stale and a bit over priced. The eclair (bite size-$5.50) was very stale as if it was sitting in the fridge left-over from the Christmas holiday. Cute little bakery we randomly stopped in after our wonderful brunch meal at Break of Dawn in Laguna Hills. Brad C. Yelped a bakery close by. I was craving a cream puff or slice of cake of some sort. Maria N. was also craving a cream puff. All 3 of us got our of the car and the signs in front of this bakery says "No Sugar Added" all over the place, hence the name "Bye Bye Sugar Bakery"...DUH! Haha. We walked in and were kindly greeted by 2 girls behind the counter. They have a plethora of baked goodies. And I asked what type of sweetener they used for their goods and she said, "Splenda". Not the best, but it'll do. I would have preferred her saying something like natural sweeteners aka "Stevia in the Raw". Brad C. got himself a nice slice of cheesecake. And both Maria N. and I enjoyed a HUGE cream puff. I'd have to say the cream in my puff (hehe) was very delicious. Whipped to perfection. Not too overpowering w/ sweetness and you couldn't really tell if there was any Splenda in it. The pastry part of the puff was a bit dry and bland for my taste. But the star of a cream puff is basically the CREAM. So if it's creamy and yummy, then it's a winner in my book. This bakery also carries Walden Farms sauces, dips and spreads. I'm a HUGE fan of Walden Farms Apple Butter spread (zero calories, zero sugar!). I used to eat it all the time with my multigrain toast in the morning back when I was in precontest mode for my first fitness competition. My review is for the fruit tart: For a sugar-free tart that uses stevia as the substitute sweetener, it was pretty good! The after-taste I normally get from eating stevia was masked and blended well in the cream, so even as a sugar fanatic, I couldn't tell a difference in the lack thereof. My only complaint was that the crust around the edges of the tart tasted burnt and overall was rather hard and dry. Will come back again to try the other creations. :) read more

Not having heard about this place I read 100% sugar free on the window and had to stop in to see what it was all about. They have a descent selection of pastries and pies, priced fairly at around $4 each. I went with an eclair not wanting to go overboard in case I didn't love it. It was good, not the best ever, but for the fact that it was sweetened with sweetener instead of sugar it was pretty good. I think it is great that they came up with a bakery like this for people with diabetes or those wanting to eat less sugar and for that I give them 4 stars instead of 3. We were planning a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend's Dad & were asked to bring the birthday cake. I immediately checked yelp for reviews. First a community page came up & someone mentioned this bakery so we decided to check it out. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw 3 cases off sugar-free items that all looked super yummy. The girl at the counter was nice and eager to help. We decided to go with the Bavarian cake and what a good choice that was! We told the girl everything we wanted on the cake "Happy Birthday Dad!" with some balloons, green lettering, & white frosting. We asked her to have it ready between 1-1:30PM on Sunday, got there and it was ready and just what we had mind. After having a nice dinner we all sat down to watch a film and about half way through my boyfriend's brother brings out the cake. OMG we could all not believe how delicious the cake was and that it was sugar free. The bread was moist, frosting was light and fluffy, everything was sweet enough, but not too sweet. Another thing is that there was no bitter after taste from whatever substitute was used. This place was awesome! I can't wait to try more of their goodies! read more

The prices are suprisely reasonable for a shop that cater solely to sugar free desserts. Delicious treats with zero sugar!! The owners try to keep their ingredients as organic and fresh as possible. I was referred here by a Mother's market supervisor for a 12 inch coconut birthday cake. No sugar crashes, and best of all, it's probably my most favorite bakery of SoCal. We ordered cupcakes, and we were all very impressed with how tasty they were. We weren't expecting the cupcakes to be great, but they were very well done. I love the concept of this bakery. I discovered it while shopping in LA at Whole Foods. The cookies are very good. The chocolate chip for my favorite but don't expect many chocolate chips. The sugar cookies are also very good. You cannot tell that they are sugar free!! I also tried the brownie, which tastes like very light, sponge cake. I would not get that again. I also tried the lemon bar which was phenomenal!! The reason for three stars is because it is extremely extremely expensive! Five dollars for a tiny 3 x 3 square of brownie or lemon bar is very expensive. And the cannoli was inedible. The cannoli cookie was soggy, the middle was bland and did not taste good at all and then it was dipped in chocolate which was flavorless. I will probably not be back because the cookies are the same exact price at Whole Foods and Whole Foods offers a satisfaction guarantee. I grabbed a Strawberry (White cake, strawberry filling, fluffy, 'whipped-like' frosting and light sprinkles around the top edge) and went on my way. Cutting into the cake I was nervous that we would all have the traditional, sugar-free experience..... The dreaded Splenda aftertaste. Of course for my dad, he was used to it. Google steered me here, as I did not want to go to a dinner empty handed, so I thought I would give it a try and was I pleasantly surprised. I'm not a fan of sugary deserts so this place was right up my alley. I had an chocolate eclair, napoleon, and some tiramisu. All of them where just the perfect sweetness, for me anyway. The tiramisu was especially good. Next time I need a desert I will defiantly come back. Call ahead if you want a whole desert as they only had small servings of there tirmaisu and fruit tarts and pretty much everything else. I thought the pricing was a little high but if something is good the price does not bother me to much. They also had an assortment of chocolates and other candies. They also make smoothies and frozen yogurt, which for a bakery seems a little odd but I won't knock it until I try it. All I can say is - wow, you gotta go here! I'm picky about my sweets, because I have a sensitivity to sugar. Most times after eating some pie or a tasty cupcake, I feel nauseous, dizzy, or thirsty. This is normally due to too much sugar or preservatives. But, after randomly walking in after picking up some stuff at Home Depot, I think I might become a regular! I ordered a slice of carrot cake (one of my all-time favs), as was prepared for it to taste synthetic, like a diet soda... but this was far from true. The taste was creamy, smooth, delicate, and above-all, no nauseous side effect! It had just enough sweetness to satisfy the palette and wasn't overpowering. I've had vegan desserts before (can't remember if any were carrot cake), and wasn't too impressed with them; there were too dry, and just didn't have the right "expectation" for what a dessert taste like. This on the other hand was the complete opposite. Yes, it's pricey ($32 for a cake), but heck, it's worth it! Just get it with some friends for a special occasion, and you'll have many pleasant memories. The funny thing is, I just ate it about 4-5 hours ago, and I can still taste it in my mouth! So for $4.50 a slice, that's a ~$1/hr for taste - sounds like a deal to me! :) Go get a slice of cake or the whole thing, and please support them. I've been recently put on a strict diabetic/GI diet because I'm insulin resistant and it's been a really emotional rollercoaster for me mainly because I have the biggest sweet tooth ever.
