I scheduled a 30k mile service and an infotainment system issue of rebooting randomly. I also asked them to look at the battery as it was slow to start and it has been 5 years on original battery. He mentioned there was a computer update and they needed to do that first but that subaru extended the warrranty to 2029 If it needed replaced. I had just gotten an oil change and tire rotation 2 weeks earlier but didn't have a few hours to do the maintenance then. The service writer told me for no oil change and tire rotation it would be 100 off, and then they gladly took my car with ease And I left for work. They called me about the battery needing replaced and throttle body needed cleaned and the price was almost 600. I said can you just do the throttle body and he said we usually do them together as they are close together. I don't think this is true. so I declined the service. When I went back to dealer to pick it up i mentioned 3 times they didn't do the oil change/tire rotation but they still wanted to charge me full price for doing the service and looked at the ticket and said they didn't use any oil so they deducted shop supplies charge but again still charged me for the service. they also didn't even look at the infotainment system or check the computer for an update. I got very angry mentioning they did not do the oil change/ rotation 3 times and they still charged me for services they didn't do, along with not doing anything at all with the infotainment system. so I got so angry I just paid and left for the parts department for the parts to do the throttle body cleaning myself as they refused unless it was bundled with the battery replacement. As I walked to my car on the lot I noticed the windows were all down on my newly detailed car collecting lot dust and it was starting to sprinkle. This is the worst experience I have ever had at this or any dealer And I have been going to them for many years now, But I will not go back. This is exactly why dealers get a bad reputation. read more

Brought my Subaru Crosstrek to service center after Discount Tire was unable to properly diagnose a tire problem. Without an appointment, the ser ice manager, Matt, had all tires checked discovered the TPMS gauge was bad. He replaced all 4 under my extended warranty for only the deductible. They didn't connect my brakes properly after flushing the brake lines, so my brakes were failing as I attempted to drive home. In 2021, I had a "70k mile service" done here. On the drive home, something was clearly wrong when I pulled up to my first red light. I had to slam my foot to the floor and my car was STILL only gliding to a stop. I pulled over and called into the service department to tell them what was happening. I was told "that's normal after your brake lines get flushed. There's probably some air in the line that will work it's way out as you keep driving." Thank god I did NOT listen to this guy, and drove it right back to the dealership where they confirmed that the brakes were not "seeded". The service advisor, Tyler, never apologized and told me "mistakes happen. We're all human." When I told him I did not want the same mechanic to fix my brakes, he said, "The mechanic that initially worked on your car is actually our master mechanic. He even teaches classes." Despite the unapologetic tone of my service advisor, the service manager, Ken, reached out to me and was very apologetic. After fixing my brakes, he wanted to make it up to me. As an apology, he offered to fix an existing crack I had in my windshield by replacing the entire windshield. When I got my car back this time, I saw that the contracted company (Discount Auto Glass) left black adhesive all over the interior and exterior of my car, and left a significant chip in my paint. Ken urgently made them repair it. Shortly after getting my car back, I noticed a big glob of clear glue underneath my rearview mirror. I was so tired of bringing my car back and forth to this dealership. I figured this was a cosmetic issue, so I let it be. A week ago, I came out to my car and the mirror was dangling off of the windshield. That "adhesive" I saw was *actually* a chunk of glass from my windshield the whole time. I figured Ken would help me get in touch with Discount Auto Glass because he was extremely helpful before. When I called in, he had zero recollection of me or the brake failure fiasco from 2021, even after I re-told all of the events. He seemed annoyed at my call, and kept telling me "I don't know what you want me to do. It's been two years. If there really was a crack 2 years ago, you shouldn't have waited this long." I told him I didn't complain about it because I thought it was glue. Even when I got a separate crack repaired at Safelite 6 months ago, they didn't acknowledge that the "glue" was actually a big broken glass chunk. I only discovered what it was when my mirror detached from the windshield. I told him I'd like to get in touch with Discount Auto Glass about their lifetime warranty against defects. He was very cold and said "Even if you call them, they'll just give you the run around and have you call us. We can't do anything except MAYBE glue your mirror back on." The whole experience was very weird, and such a stark contrast to the extremely nice Ken I met two years ago. I was stunned that he had no recollection of me nor what happened in 2021. I would not recommend the service department of this dealership. read more

I don't know. Maybe I'll give them another chance but scared to. I get that it's a car dealership and that they are going to try and get over the amount of they can but tactic wise it's definitely tiring especially when you throw in a sales person that is giving you a whole attitude. When I went to the dealership to purchase my vehicle, no one came to see if I needed any assistance. I stood in the middle of the dealership floor and watched as the dealers ran up to other individuals/families with no hesitation and asked if they needed help. I just didn't fit the description of who typically buys cars I guess It wasn't until my wife (whom is white) came in did a salesman approach us. I normally would pay cash for my cars and as I walked away to.look at vehicles my wife notified the dealer of that. Suddenly I was getting attention and they became somewhat bubbly. They were trying to sale me on some things I didn't want but when I turned them down the salesman became aggressive. I even stated that I needed to think about the possible purchase from because I saw as vehicle elsewhere I was interested in as well and wanted to check it out. The salesperson became livid and started talking down to me. I then got switched to another and he wasn't the greatest with attitude towards me but I just focused on trying to get a vehicle. Another time I went to Byers to have my wife's Atlas serviced. I was sitting in the lobby doing some work on my laptop and decided to check on the time left for the service being done to the vehicle. As I walked to the desk, a good walked up on me as tho I he was security with arms folded and stood between me and the service as to block and asked with a scowl "Is there something you need?!" The service desk person responded to him to let him know I was okay. The whole time I was sitting there this didn't happen with anyone else walking toward the service desk except for me. read more

Horrible service in parts, not one of these guys has the slightest clue. Would never buy from here again. So I go back and ask this guy how many quarts for a 2012 Subaru Forester. He told me to go ask service and come back. I'm like, is this dude for real? How do you work here and not know? So I ask him about a rearview mirror with auto dimming compass in it one. He couldn't find it to save his life and then asked me what part number do I have. Like if I'm doing your job, I'm gonna order it online and save. So they lost over $700 worth of sales right there. I needed a lot more than just transmission fluid. Everyone in service was amazing, definitely made up for the poor service in the parts department. This always happens here and it's that guy! I was in a car wreck. Root Insurance was a total disappointment and aggravation. I was left with an insurance check and a daily total running on my rental car. So I am stressing. I called dealerships. I emailed dealerships. I'm still going to get texts for probably a few more weeks from trying to find a new car lined up. I have prior experience with Byers from a few years back - but from the mazda side. This time, I was pretty set in getting a Subaru, so after my last meeting of the day, I drove down. I didn't have an appointment, I knew I had two hours to before they closed, and I had a few vehicles I wanted to check out. Greg Higgins was super helpful, and talked me down from a Forester to an Outback, and had several options to show me - and even when I thought I knew which one I wanted, he wanted to make sure I saw _all_ my choices. Buying a car - especially when you're coming off a wreck - is fucking stressful as fuck, especially when you're unhappy with your insurance company. Greg was fast, friendly, and on top of it.
