Wife and I went in May 18 to look at a VStrom 800. I was going to purchase the vehicle but the finance person (male) tired to up sell me and I told him I did not want to listen to it. I just wanted to know what the motorcycle came with in warranty. He complained that he had to up sell me or he would get fired or fined. After, a brief round about. I took my motorcycle there because the clutch went bad on me. Asked them to try and figure out what was going wrong. They quoted me almost $500 just for the "clutch diagnostic". They said it could be an almost $2000 repair by the end. Ended up taking it to D&A cycles down the road and they diagnosed it and fixed it for $500. Don't get scammed by these guys. I've owned 25 motorcycles and have never taken a bike to a shop in my life. After my experience at the Byron Super Store, I will never take a bike to any shop again. My current bike is too heavy to jack up properly on a standard bike lift, so I took my motorcycle in to have new tires installed. That was a huge mistake. The mechanic made three errors working on the rear wheel. The bolts holding the pipes to the frame were stripped. I believe an impact driver was used instead of hand tightening and then using a socket wrench. There were 13 wheel weights added because the mechanic was too lazy to rotate the wheel on the rim again to get a better balance. The factory only needed four weights to balance the tire. Finally, the drive belt was not adjusted. It was flopping around when I got home. I will never go there again. I would give a zero rating if I could. read more

I live in Washington State and I had to get the bike transported up here from Georgia a very long trip. Only rated one star because that's as low as it will allow. If you want to buy a unit here and spend your money they are more than happy to help. However if you want something worked on, you'd be better off just setting it on fire because that's how much you'll be paying anyway. I had to have a major repair on my only 2 year old bike that I bought new from them. After telling me that it's going to cost half the price that the bike cost new to get it repaired, they didn't even want to tell me what was wrong with it. Then they tell you they don't know what happened and offer you 1 free key at no charge to make it right because I been waiting and they forgot to place my order and I have to wait a couple more days to get the 2 keys I pay for but the free key was a lie, when the day comes no call or part I call and get the runarounds and lie too ask about my order, they tell you my order will be there on a certain day and they lie again they tell you they going to call back and find out what happened and they don't. Let me say this before you continue: WE HAVE PURCHASED TWO BIKES FROM YOU WITHIN THE LAST YEAR! Left here Sept 24,2015 at about 11:00am. If i could give this company 0 stars - i definitely would. This is the worst experience i have EVER had in a motorcycle shop. I work at one and know how service should go. We were treated like the scum of the earth. Completely ignored. Laughed at by the owner, Tom. We took my husbands bike in for warranty work and recall (took three weeks... meh) and upon dropping it off, noted that to leave carbon fiber panels off and that rear tire was soaked in oil and that the oil was leaking when bike was off and cold (therefore no need to test ride to "replicate the issue"). After being contacted that 100% is done, we ask about recall of which the other person in service had no idea about even though it was on the work order. He then had to call the service manager to find out when he could have simply looked on the computer he was on when we dropped it off. THEN we find out tire is not replaced. ALSO find out that the kid that told us it was 100% done, when asked about the tire, he responds with "OH MAN I WISH I WOULDVE KNOWN THAT - I TOOK YOUR BIKE THROUGH TURNS!" WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS ALLOWS JOY RIDES ON BIKES?! Owner claims it wasnt joy ride yet when we looked at the tires and rotors, THEY WERE FREAKING BLUE! BLUEEEEEE!!!!!! NOT SILVER - NOT BLACK---- BLUE! YOU GUYS THREW WAY TOO MUCH HEAT INTO HIS BIKE! Not only that, but you "test rode it" TWO FREAKING DAYS IN A ROW! (adding 30 more miles onto my husbands bike, getting it covered in dirt/mud AND wasting all the gas he had in there to get home). When speaking with the owner, he said "im not gonna sit here and make excuses" then continued to make excuses. When stating we would ride the bike back, he laughed in our faces KNOWING DAMN WELL IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. Needless to say, i was not happy at all with how ANY of this was handled and i hate knowing a "well trusted company" treats its source of income like complete crap. NEVER WILL GO BACK HERE! We will take our time and gas to go to augusta for warranty work. POOR, POOR SERVICE. Shame on you, Tom. If you get paid by the hour and you go on "test rides" aka JOY RIDES LIKE YOUR COMPANY HAS SHOWN US YOU DO YOU DO IN FACT GET PAID TO RIDE MOTORCYCLES. triumph of america has been informed of our experience. (also, your bikes are covered in cobwebs and dust. not appealing to a buyer) I ALSO will say that ron has indeed helped us when purchasing bikes and is by far the only reason we have had good experiences in the past. Keep it up, Ron! NOTE: after returning home and rechecking bike, tool marks on almost all bolts and nuts showing excessive tightening and some bolts not even tight at all!!!! Not only were you about to let my husband leave on the tire we told you was bad, but his bike had every ability to fall to pieces on his ride home that your MECHANIC who is supposedly a "certified mechanic" should have noticed and tightened to manufacturer specifications. The more we look over your work, the worse it gets. MUD ON THE RADIATOR AND TRIPLE TREE?! How in the world do you even pull that off and think it's okay to hand back to us? We didn't hand it to you in any condition remotely close to how you handed it back. I'm EXTREMELY dissatisfied. Not only is your business attitude totally unprofessional but you're proving your work to be unprofessional too. CHECK OVER YOUR BIKE BEFORE YOU LEAVE! We had to take it back down to show him the marks in the exhaust from the jack. Went to Byron Powersports on May 5th excited to buy a helmet and look at bikes while there, after spending 20 min browsing, the employees working there avoided eye contact, never asked if we needed help (we had mask on). It was not busy. We decided to go shop at the Harley dealer where we purchased a helmet within 15 minutes of arriving as they had a awesome Bell on clearance. Byron Powersports missed out on $250 helmet sale. In the future at least acknowledge customers when they come in the store and ask them if they have any questions. read more

Just endured a nightmare at Byron Powersports. I have never been treated so unfairly in my life. Briefly, I was traveling from Tennessee to Florida when my Pirelli Route MT66 tire blew out - after less than 3000 miles! Called AAA and after over three hot hours they finally showed up. The driver said there was a dealer just a few miles away so he took me there, to Byron Powersports. I called them as we were loading my bike and they said bring it to them, they could do it in the morning. They were just closing so they took my bike into the shop and told me they don't work on old bikes (83 Gold Wing). I said how about I come back in the morning and remove the rear wheel and they could just put a new tire on. The service writer said yes. I got a motel, returned the next morning, anxious to get on the road to make it to my father's 96th birthday in Florida. When I got there service manager Bobby Hootman asked me what I was doing there and I told him about my predicament, and that I would get the wheel off myself. (He also asked my why I was riding such an old bike, indicating that if I broke down I couldn't get parts for it. I told him I could get parts and he argued with me. Been riding this bike forever, and have no problem getting parts. He was like putting me down for riding this great old motorcycle). He then said ok but I couldn't do it in the shop. I said sure, could you help me push the 800 pound bike outside and help me get it up on the centerstand (tough to do alone with a flat tire). He said wait here a minute and I sensed something was amiss. He came out and said they couldn't help me, and that I'd have to get my bike off their property. I tried my best to get them to let me just take the wheel off and have them put on a new tire. Nothing doing. It's a lot longer story, and after practically begging and arguing I knew I was screwed. 400 miles from home, with a flat tire, AT A BIKE SHOP THAT HAD THE TIRE IN STOCK and I had to get towed out of there. He said his boss said it was an insurance issue. I paid a wrecker $88 to bring it about ten miles to Capital Cycle, where they cordially did the whole job for me. I'm sure Byron has some alternative slant on this, but in my 52 years of riding I've never encountered anything like this. It's pretty grim when a motorcycle shop won't help a rider in distress. read more

They did a front brake pad change on my 2013 HD with ABS. They didn't do the required ABS brake bleed because they don't have the equipment, and didn't tell me they didn't do it. 1000 miles later my front brakes malfunctioned, they wouldn't release properly, until the tire locked up. Fortunately this occurred on straight and dry conditions instead of a turn on wet roads. I would have gone down. Took the bike to a HD dealer who performed the required service. I have had no problems since. Those are the facts. Do I KNOW that not bleeding the brake system caused the malfunction? No, but there seems to be a connection. The fact that Yamaha of Byron knew of the required service, but didn't tell me about it pissed me off. They should have said, "Your pads need changed, but we don't have the equipment to do it right, take it to a HD dealer" instead of trying to make an extra $50 off me and putting me at risk. read more

Never made a "big" purchase here but do buy spark plugs, etc. The people are very nice. Can be a little intimidating because the sales desk is right where you walk in. So people are looking at you before you even come in the door. But the parts sales department staff are great. If they don't have the part then they get it in stock really fast. If you're looking to purchase a Yamaha, I HIGHLY recommend shopping at this dealership. I've had a Yamaha Silverado since 2004. I recently sold that bike to purchase a 2012 1300 Tourer. Not having a dealership with 60 minute drive, I decided to get quotes from all dealerships within 90 minutes from my home. This was a rather eye-opening experience, frankly. 3 weeks later I've still yet to receive quotes from 1/2 of them, even after multiple calls and emails. Of the 1/2 that did respond, 3 of them quoted straight MSRP's plus dealer prep (I'm not feeling the love). 3 were very reasonable in price. Byron was not only the lowest, most reasonably priced of all the dealerships, the sales staff were friendly, accurate, probably the most knowledge of Yamaha's, and very responsive. In the purchase I also required a few add-ons. Yamaha of Byron sales staff worked well with their parts & service department because the quote coming back was accurate on those parts and very competitive on the installation charges too. Bought tires for my Stryker from them on Friday and was told that they would be in on Wednesday. Due to shipping delays, they did not get there until Friday. Up to this point, not so much their fault. They advertise same day service on tires and oil changes. With my tires coming in on Friday, I called them then and was told the bike would be ready by 5:30. When I came to pick the bike up, the old tires were still on. I was told that I would have to wait in line behind other bikes, so no telling when they would get to it. So no same day service? I finally decided to go somewhere else for service and parts, but was told they could not refund me on the tires and that I was getting a great deal. I told the service technician I could get the tires online for the same price, free shipping and no tax and they would have been delivered on time. The only reason I purchased the tires here was to support local and have them do the maintenance. This was the second time I've had a bad experience at this business and I don't intend to give them a third chance. I will go elsewhere for my next purchase and maintenance needs. read more
