Was craving Viet rice dishes and I wanted to try this place again and it was definitely a better experience! I had their C11 (Pork chop, shrimp cake, broken rice) and it was pretty good! The pork was seasoned well and was cooked nicely. The bad part was the sizing. I definitely wished I had meat pork, as it was a bit on the smaller side. That being said, the shrimp cake was pretty good. There was a bit too much batter for me though. The fish sauce and broken rice were tasty! The service was good! Server was nice, very helpful, and accommodating. The food didn't take long to make as well. The pricing of the foods is fair which is always nice. The ambiance is okay. I've been to almost every pho place in kent and renton and this might be one of my favorites already. The server was nice and let me sub chicken instead of shrimp in the spring rolls, which were way more affordable than some places! An appetizer should be exactly the price of these appetizers, I'm pleasantly surprised at the prices here. I truly hope they don't go up anytime soon. The chicken pho was also delicious. So good! We stopped by Cat Sang for some of their famous rice dish! What I ordered was the special combination with the beef short ribs. All that food and the price is just right! This was about $16 and you get lots of food. Let me also add that they do not charge you for the soup!!! This place has become very popular and much busier from what I can remember. CÁT SANG @ KENT Came to this place on a Sunday morning with my parents and grandparents. They seated us fairly quick. Parking is free and available out front. Table and seats were perfectly clean, and the ambiance was bright and lovely. There were lots of people coming in as well. The service could've been worked a bit better, we didn't have a server for like 10 minutes. My mom had to grab someone from the counter. We ended ordering a couple dishes, including the M4. Yellow Noodles with shrimp, pork, and squid. It was pretty delicious, and it came out within a couple minutes. The flavor was there, it was the right amount of salty, and it also came with bean sprouts, lettuce, and a lime slice. My dad ended up getting a rice bowl BD, which was a combination with means, shrimp, and egg rolls. Delicious! Another just ok pho spot (but still better than most Eastside spots I've put up with). Came here since a coworker recommended it. Prices are a bit lower for pho, but honestly l wasn't able to distinguish the difference between the small vs large pho for noodle quantity. The order came out very quickly; broth hot, brisket lean and abundant enough. The beef broth was good (sensing some MSG in there?), but depth of flavor lacking. Skip the chicken pho, flavorless broth and not traditional, but at least it was only my son's kid's meal. I'd probably come back just for the spring rolls (cha gio) alone. Me and my sisters would come here on almost every weekend, it's kinda like our weekly hangout spot! You can sit whenever and the place is always on top of things, the servers are super nice and they'll make sure your food comes out right away. Me and my sisters will either get their kids pho, p1, P3, p10, or their rice plate c10, I personally love their rice plate which is like a short ribs with fried eggs. For appetizers we like their gyoza's or their spring rolls, those are always a good choice. The pho and bun bo hue is not bad. It's $13.75 for a small. We also ordered a small steak and flank pho. All the sides it came with - bean sprouts, basil, japaleno was fresh. However there was a misunderstanding when I wanted extra noodles. I assumed the extra noodles would be on the side in a broth like how most pho restaurants are. But the noodles came right in the soup and sadly, it was a bummer I had to pay $2 extra for the pho. Also the menu's not up to date with prices so I've included it. It's hard to find $11 pho anymore. We're from Bellevue and even in Kent, a pho place like this can be over $15. I was going to give 3 stars but since the manager compted the extra noodles for me because of the misunderstanding I bumped it up to a 4. I probably wouldn't come here again for the price and value reasons. Also their old menu used to say 3 spring rolls for the price. Now they only give you 2 for like $6. First time trying this place today. We had pho with fatty gland and tendon and Bun Bo Hue. The Bon Bo Hue smelled a little too fishy for my standards, but the taste was good and not too fishy. Broth of the pho was ok, but didn't seem exceptional. We got a too go order and the broth had cooled down a bit, so I'm sure it would have been better in restaurant. Prices seem average, and servings were plenty big for us. They were busy. Service was efficient. read more

I don't know where to begin. I used to frequent this spot on a regular before covid and a few years after. It was reasonable with prices, but most importantly it had great customer service. That's not the case anymore. I will say maybe the last few years things began to decline, in my perspective. I don't know if they switched owners, but nobody absolutely acknowledges you, unlike before with the older Viet lady who used to welcome you in. Now you have some teen working the counter coughing all over handling food. The price is just ridiculous. I get things have gone up, but from a plate of about $9 from 2020 to now at $15 at 67%... wow. Not even that, if the customer service and experience when picking up an order had value, I'd feel better. The problem is they do well on volume with delivery orders, the experience a customer has is less of a focus. It's not just a problem here, but in the restaurant industry. Came here twice and got a few different items for take out. A family-run restaurant with cordial service, good food and great for a homemade meal when you don't want to cook. First time was a weekend around lunch time and restaurant was about 80% full, a lot of locals and Vietnamese families which I took to be a good sign :) B3 Bún Thịt Nướng Chả Giò - rice noodles with grilled pork and egg roll - fresh salad and pickled radish/carrots, tasty marinated and grilled pork. I really like their eggs rolls, crispy on the outside and well seasoned meat inside. Kinda sad there was only one! Next time I'm ordering a plate of these. B1 Bún Tôm Thịt Nướng - grilled pork with shrimp - similar to above but with 3pc grilled shrimp instead of the egg roll. Good grill flavor on the shrimp. C7. Com Tam Suon Nuong Tom - pork Chops, shrimp with broken Rice - I ordered P7 pho w/tendon and flank but I think they heard wrong and gave us C7 instead. Thinly sliced pork chop pieces with 3pc grilled shrimp. Similar marinade and flavors to B1 above, tasty. S1. Bun Bo Hue - beef noodle soup - this is a combo of house-made beef balls, slices of beef, and what I think was fish cake, with thick rice noodles and beef broth w/a hint of spiciness (a tiny dab of heat). Maybe bc this wasn't as warm by the time I brought it home, or maybe bc I was more excited to try this having seen other reviewers' praise, but I thought this was just ok. Personally I wasn't as big a fan of the thicker rice noodles (bc less flavor seeps into them), and also felt the broth flavor could be a bit more robust. I want to start off by saying that this is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the south end. Their service has always been to me pretty good and they always seem to remember me when I haven't been there in a while. Quit going for a bit due to less work in the area and the times I have tried to go it was on a closed day. I guess that they are back to 7 days a week now. I've never gone there with the wife or family. Always the odd white guy getting lunch during the week by myself but the young guy that tends to greet and serve you always remembers that I like their egg noodle soup with pickled jalapeños. This is a very good dish here but honestly there is one other place I won't name here locally that does it even better. This time I elected for the Dac Diet Pho which is my pho usual after he asked me if I wanted the egg noodles. I got a small which is still a good helping size. It came quickly via a runner and was very generous with meat. The tripe was not cut up very well which I don't prefer but didn't want to bother them for the scissors like I was a child. The noodles however were way overdone and couldn't be eaten whole with chopsticks easily. Boo. The broth for some reason seemed less flavorful than usual too like they were either developing it too fast or going stingy on the aromatics in the cooking process. This broth thing plagues most every Pho restaurant in the north end and east side where I am at most of the time. This is why I prefer pho in the south end and ID of Seattle. I think that this restaurant can and probably will do better but there are no half stars in yelp so my recent visit was just a 3! read more

Pho is gluten free and shellfish free. Chicken and tofu are marinated in advance with soy sauce(wheat) and sesame so it's not for those with allergies. Pho is the only item on the menu for people with allergies. The staff were very helpful and well informed with the ingredients and let me know what was safe to eat and what wasn't. Here I am, at Cat Sang Restaurant located in Kent, WA trying their BBH. The broth was super flavorful and had a lot of pieces of Cha (Vietnamese style pork ham roll). I wish it had more slices of beef though like they do it back at home. Overall, it was delicious, which I do recommend. Dumplings is a bit small but the broth was really good and doesn't taste like there's msg in it, or maybe they didn't add alot of it lol. Kids pho brisket was so lean and tender. For $8.99 it comes with pho and soda. My husband ordered pork chop with rice. Really thin slice but flavorful chops. He loves the broken rice with sunny side up eggs.
