Stir Stir-Fried Lamb Over Noodles - "spicy" but not spicy at all
    Mattea D.

This is in the Great Wall Shopping Mall. The Now Open sign is off to the side but go in the mall to find Wild Cumin! We really wanted hand pulled noodles since they are unavailable in Tacoma, so we headed to Wild Cumin for some stir fried lamb with noodle (spicy). We also got a lamb bun to try. We enjoyed the food cooking shows on the tvs showing Uyghur food being made and some sort of host enjoying the food. Our food came quickly, it was not super spicy but also PNW sometimes that happens. We liked the balance of the noodles, meat, sauce, and cilantro, and my husband enjoyed the lamb bun. We would def go again, though I was slightly disappointed to read it's not actually Uyghur people who own/manage this, so still looking for my favorite spot.

We had a reservation for 7:15 PM on a Friday. Our server was friendly, and the restaurant was popular, with people lining up after us. It was my first time trying Uyghur cuisine, so I was excited and found the experience interesting. We ordered the Lamb Leg Meat with Bread, Braised Lamb Spine, and Lamb Skewers. The Lamb Leg Meat with Bread was a bit dry, there wasn't much meat on the Lamb Spine, and my friend thought the Lamb Skewers had a slightly sour taste. The restaurant did not serve alcohol, but I enjoyed watching videos of animals and daily life in Xinjiang on the TV. The restaurant had a warm and inviting ambiance, with traditional Uyghur decorations such as tapestry. Parking was easy, as there was a parking lot for the Great Wall Plaza.

There are no other Xinjiang restaurants in the Seattle area so Wild Cumin is a welcome addition to the food scene! My family and I tried the lamb skewers, lamb soup, naan, and dapanji. Everything was pretty good but my favorite was definitely the lamb soup as it tasted so refreshing. The space itself was also pretty nice too!

Located inside the Great Mall shopping more, this place offers delicious halal food and good service. We came early for dinner on a weekday, and are the only table upon arrival. The young waitress is very friendly, she offered my kids some house-made yogurt to sample. We all enjoyed the dishes we order, overall food deserves a solid 4 out of 5 stars: +Xinjiang Naan Bread with Lamb Leg Meat 列巴烤羊腿肉 $22 (4.5/5 stars) - diced boneless lamb cooked with onion and chunks of potato wrapped in a thin, crunchy sesame bread shell. The portion is huge, and the filling is so tasty! Our favorite dish of the night. +Stir-fried Lamb over Dry Noodle 过油羊肉拌面 $16.95 (4/5 stars) - I highly recommend the spicy version. It's like a lamb and green onion/onion stirfry, topped over al dente noodle. +Big plate chicken 大盘鸡 $32 (4/5 stars) I've had different versions of this dish, and this one is unique and tasty because of the strong peppercorn flavor, which gives this dish a savory numbness 麻辣. Even my toddler who doesn't eat spicy had a couple pieces (and drank water afterwards lol) +Lamb skewer 羊肉串 3 for $10 (4/5 stars) - nice smokey flaovor, not the most tender but small pieces of fat makes it -Lamb kidney 烤羊腰 $6.5 (2/5 stars) - I got this to try because it's rare to find lamb kidney in the US. The skewer came with 3 pieces of kidneys, which was super tough and stinky (not well-cleaned). This is the only dish I don't recommend. Based on my first experience with the food, I will definitely come back to try other dishes on the menu!

This Chinese restaurant got my friends, who typically avoid Chinese food due to halal restrictions, so excited. Their lamb dishes are exceptional - grilled, boiled, or stir fried. The spices and sauces hit the spot, intensifying the great meat flavors. Be warned that though there are veggies here, this place is heavy on the meats and breads. For 4 people, 5 dishes, it was a great meal. And we had plenty of leftovers (that fed us another 3 meals). However, some of the breads are quite dense and though the yogurt drinks sounded good on paper, they were simply too sweet.

New spot in Great Wall Shopping Mall! There was a decent wait, but they have a waitlist you're able to join. The menu was large, but items are quite repetitive (just lamb & spice) Overall it was pretty good, I loved the Dry Noodles the most! Left full & satisfied with my meal and service.

Seattle's Halal food scene just got a big boost with the arrival of Wild Cumin, a restaurant serving all Halal food inside Great Wall Mall in Kent, specializing in Xinjiang cuisine--a unique style of Chinese Muslim cooking originating from the Northwestern region of China, also known as Uyghur cuisine. While many are familiar with other Chinese culinary traditions like Sichuan, Hunan, or Cantonese etc, Wild Cumin is introducing Greater Seattle to the distinct flavors of Xinjiang for the first time. I was excited yet kept my expectations in check since not all Chinese cuisines align with my tastes, but this experience blew me away with bold flavors and mouthwatering dishes. Star of the show: Hot and Spicy Pot Steller dish! Totally won over me. I chose the chicken version, which featured bone-in chicken cooked to tender perfection in a tomato-based broth seasoned with cumin, chili, green peppers, onions, and roasted potatoes. The dish also included hand-pulled flat noodles and the chicken soaked up all the flavors beautifully. The marriage of flavor was impressive, with just the right level of heat for someone who isn't used to very spicy food. Other highlights: Lamb Skewers (Kebab) The lamb skewers were grilled to perfection with a robust cumin seasoning, delivering a deliciously smoky flavor. These tender bites were packed with taste and incredibly satisfying. Xinjiang Salad This refreshing starter included a mix of tomatoes, cucumbers, cilantro, green peppers, vinegar, sesame oil, olive oil, and a hint of sugar, making for a crisp, flavorful combination that was a perfect appetizer. Lamb Noodle Soup The Lamb Noodle Soup was a hearty large bowl filled with the rich flavors of lamb, fresh green onions, and hand-pulled thin noodles. The broth was well-seasoned and comforting, with a satisfying depth of flavor from the lamb and spices. Xinjiang stuffed Naan This dish features reshly baked Uyghur-style dough stuffed with tender, spiced lamb leg meat, onions, and potatoes. The naan dough had a crispy crust on the outside, and all the aroma from fesh baking, while the inside was moist, thanks to the juices from the meat. The combination of flavors was delicious, and the hearty filling made it a satisfying choice. I'd love it even more with slightly less lean meat for an extra juicy bite. Roasted Beef Bun The Roasted Beef Bun was another highlight, featuring freshly baked bread filled with spiced, roasted beef. This was a bit on the drier side. I would have liked it a bit softer and juicier. but seemed that it was popular among others :) Xinjiang Naan The Xinjiang Naan was a thick, freshly baked bread topped with sesame seeds. It was delicious when dipped in sauces or soups, adding a nice touch of flavor and texture to the meal. Or even with the skewer. Clear Soup The clear soup was a light, broth-based dish featuring herbs and lamb meat, offering a milder option without heavy spices. While I enjoyed it, adding chili sauce elevated the experience. Try it only if you love very mild meat soup. I also tried the exotic version of the soup with lamb offal ( stomach , kidney ). Well .... not my cup of tea, but if you are into it , give it a try. Setting and Atmosphere The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated with motifs representing Xinjiang's landscapes, mosques, camels, and traditional food. The ambiance reflected the essence of the region, and even the servers wore some signs of traditional attire. The chef has his background in Xinjiang. I visited during midday on a Sunday, and the restaurant stayed busy for hours. Final Thoughts: It's now one of my favorite spots, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Thanks to the owners for introducing the Chinese Xingjian cuisine to Seattle ! . * I can't vouch how authentic Xinjiang style they are , but whatever it is, loved it :) * It's Seattle's biggest Asian mall with ranch 99, so combine your grocery and shopping trip. also there are many other asian restaurants in the premises,

This is a Uyghur cuisine restaurant inside the Great Wall Shopping Mall in Kent. When you get here, you'd have to find parking in the mall's parking lot, which gets full during peak hours. I came here with a group of 4 on a Friday weeknight around 5pm, which seems to be an ideal time given it became a full house sometime before 6:30pm, the length of our stay here. We were greeted and seated quickly as a result and got to look at our menus. Many of the dishes on the menu have lamb in it, but there are some chicken and beef variations on some of them. The walls of this place have what seem like sceneries of the food and landscape of Xinjiang. Now to break down each of the dishes we got: - The homemade Xinjiang yogurt felt more like a dessert yet it was listed on the "Appetizers" section of their menu. This was pretty nice; it tasted like Greek yogurt with added sweetness from both the raisins and the mildly sweet honey. - We opted for the large lamb soup without noodles. It had a bunch of green onions and lamb inside, and this was a highly flavorful kind! It pairs well with the naan bread on the side by ripping some of it and putting it in your broth. - One of my favorites was the roasted lamb ribs; the meat ripped off the bone so perfectly, it had such a great salty but delicious taste, and he onions around it definitely added more to the before-taste of the dish. - The stir-fried lamb over noodles was all right; the lamb inside this one wasn't as flavorful as the other things we got but the noodles made for a nice palette cleanser when it didn't come into contact with the meat. - The Xinjiang lamb shank with naan bread was the most advertised from social media, so we got this one. I noticed there was a ton of potatoes inside ours but it was balanced by the extra lamb inside too. It was also kinda hard to cut but once we did it was very aesthetically pleasing to look at. This was a very heavy meal for all of us but it's also a pretty underrated place given its location where Ranch 99 is the more prominent business. Service was also great; they were very happy to answer any questions we had about some of the dishes we ordered, and advised us that the things here aren't too spicy. Very high recommend for a place that should have more people coming to it!

Got here at 8pm and there was a wait. The restaurant has a waitlist tablet in the front which was very convenient. We had a large party but they accommodated us very well combining a few tables. The food was good, my favorite was definitely the fried spicy fish and cucumber salad. They also have chili oil at the table for you to use. We also got the lamb hot pot and it was unfortunately a bit on the saltier side but the meat was tender. Good spot to stop by after shopping at 99 ranch!

Flavorful, authentic Xinjiang Uyghur/Chinese food located in the Great Wall Mall next to Ranch 99. The lamb skewers were seasoned very well and were delicious. The lamb noodles were nice and chewy and also good. The Lamb soup was comforting and comes with free refills of broth. The Lamb Naan was something new to me and it was also yummy. Can't wait to come back to try more.

Awesome Lamb skewers. Dip the xin-jiang naan bread in your hot pot - it stays crispy while soaking up all the yumminess.

New spot at Great Wall, bright space, lots of seating, with qr code ordering at your table. We had a very kind and attentive server help us validating what we ordered were some of her favorites. We got the lamb skewers, the lamb pot and bread. Everything was tasty, not too spicy. We will be back to try the noodles!

Great flavors at this western Chinese restaurant. The service is very fast and pricing is not bad. The menu is very lamb forward and relatively spicy, which is great for me, but if you don't like lamb it's probably not for you. I really liked the stir fried noodles and I could eat those almost every day. You order off your phone from a QR code, the menu includes photos so it's pretty easy to order even if you're u familiar with the types of food offered.
