Do you have polybutylene pipes and a Manabloc manifold? My house in Vancouver does and I had a difficult time finding a plumber with experience to work on these systems. In fact, I contacted several companies and either didn't hear back at all or was met with confusion by the person answering the phone as if they didn't even know what a Manabloc manifold was. That is until I called Kruse Plumbing. Right from the first phone call they were so friendly and responsive and knew just what I was talking about. Cierra quickly arranged a time for their estimator, Bob, to come out to my house to inspect my system and write up an estimate. Bob showed up exactly on time to the minute and was very professional and knowledgeable about Manablocs and had the estimate to me via email the next day. Manabloc replacements aren't cheap but I thought the bid was very reasonable based on the research I had done, so I hired them right away. A few days later, Kevin was dispatched to my house to do the replacement. Kevin was great. Very confident and has replaced many Manablocs. I was told by another plumber that the drywall around the Manabloc cabinet would have to be cut back on both sides to expose the pipes and fittings. When I asked Kevin if he would need to do that he said, 'no, I've replaced Manablocs in tighter spaces than this one'! True to his word, the drywall was left intact which saved me even more money by not having to hire a drywall tradesman to put everything back together. Lastly, I was expecting this project to take up most of the day. Kevin was in and out in under 3 hours tops. Evidently this company has changed its practices and philosophy. It appears they are only doing project work and no long provide services. I had used them previously on a couple of occasions (serveral years ago) and was very happy with the experience. THINGS HAVE CHANGED. I called on the 22nd of Nov to have a plumber come out and check a leak identified in my water meter. Even though they told me they were not currently doing service calls, the person I checked with told me she would check with the manager to see if they could help me since I was a returning customer. She called me back and made an appointment for today 12/1 to determing the leak and provide an estimate if it was a main line leak. First appt of day, window of 8-10 am. 9:40 am I received a call by someone else that indicated that the appointment should not have been made (terribly sorry for the inconvenience) because they are NOT DOING SERVICE CALLS. read more

It's been several months since I had this company out to do some work and I've just had an issue come up which reminded me to write a review. The main issue I called for, a hose bib replacement, wasn't even attempted. The tech arrived a few minutes before I did and couldn't wait to tell me that although it obviously needed repair, he wouldn't touch it because the siding would need to be cut away to access the bib fully. Ok? Not only was I disappointed that the main job couldn't be done, he also didn't offer any alternatives or direction on how I should proceed. I then asked to have the hardware on my two tubs replaced. The tech had to leave to get parts which took a while, and when he returned he reeked of cigarette smoke, which was off putting. He replaced the parts, and told me that the front plastic piece for the tub handle didn't fit and another one would be needed, leading me to believe he'd ordered it and would put it on later. (The one I have is really old and yellowed.) Nope, I've never heard another peep and don't have the part. The final thing, which I didn't notice until after he'd left was the ridiculously shodding job of caulking he'd done around the new tub parts. Seriously, it looks like a child did it. When I get home tonight I'll take a photo and attach to this review. All told, I would not recommend this company based upon my experience with this tech. I paid around $500 to have some surface tub parts replaced and the work done was not up to par. By the way, another local plumbing company is taking care of the complete hose bib repair, siding and all, so again I'm not sure why that couldn't be done by CH Kruse, although given the quality of the other work done it's probably just as well. read more

I was hopeful from the many awesome reviews of this plumber, but had a less-than-awesome experience. I called on a Friday to request a bid for a decent-sized remodel project I'm doing (including adding a half-bath, replumbing a basement bath, etc.) and was told I would receive a call from the estimator, Ryan, to schedule an appointment. I knew I wouldn't hear back over the weekend, but no calls on Monday. I waited patiently until Tuesday afternoon before calling again. I was able to talk to Ryan, who apologized for dropping the ball, but said they're really busy and it would be had to do a bid. But then he tried to do right and scheduled an appointment for two days later to do a walkthrough for the scope of work, so I thought all was good. Until he no-showed at the appointment. So if you can get them to actually do the work, it's probably great. Getting to that point was the hard part for me and I've since moved on. The moral of this story is that if you say you're going to do something, then do it. Don't string someone along when you really don't have the time to follow through. read more

After the big freeze in Dec 2013, he not only dealt with the insurance, he re-designed the piping in my floathome and handled two separate bills, one for the insured damage and one to re-pipe the house. The crew replaced all the PVC with PEX, and realigned the piping from under the home (where one would normally have need a diver) up into the house so it wouldn't happen again. They were courteous, cleaned up every time and fun to have here. He even arranged to have the drywall repaired for me. Complete service with complete satisfaction. So, I thought I could replace the junky old spigot on the outside of my house myself, and I tried doing it on the friday before Memorial Day weekend. Long story short, I broke the shit out of that spigot but I could NOT get it unscrewed, and it doesn't have a shut off valve, which meant that I couldn't turn the water to my house back on until it was fixed. I called up C.H. Kruse Plumbing, and after a sob story about potentially having to spend the 3 day weekend festering in a house with no water, they agreed to swing by that afternoon, despite not really having official availability that day. I got some work done in March of 2014 and today my faucet started squirting water when I went to put on the new trim piece. I'm a single mom with two kids and having to turn my water off for any extended period of time is disastrous... they had someone to my house in less than a half hour the faucet fixed in less than 20 minutes and didn't charge me anything. We needed a plumber when our generalist contractor ended up unable to to install new shower fixtures during a bathroom remodel. I called the owner Ryan at the recommendation of an employee. I received excellent customer service from start to finish. Ryan personally came out and assessed the situation and was able to promptly locate missing parts for the project. A couple days later, an employee named Donny came out to the house and completed the job. He was fast, and kept the work area clean. Even though he needed to cut through a bedroom wall to access plumbing behind the shower, he did it in such a clean, professional way that patching the sheetrock after he was done was a piece of cake. I came home from a week-long trip to find that I had a leak under my kitchen sink. I have so much dread when it comes to hiring someone to do work on my home. I own an 80 year-old home and have had at least five different plumbing companies come out to do various repairs or installations. Each time I felt like I was ripped off or taken advantage of. Seriously, you should not have to ask your plumber to do work that is up to code! That should be their standard. This time I searched yelp and read some company reviews. I gave C.H. Kruse a call and Jen told me she could send someone out that afternoon to take a look. Kirk came out to take a look, and within less than five minutes he was able to diagnose the problem, which was the faucet itself. I worked with Jen to schedule someone to come out the very next day to install a new kitchen faucet. A different guy, also named Kirk, came out today to do the installation. I am so impressed with both Kirks! Both of them are knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and trustworthy. Kirk #2 replaced the faucet quickly and without any issues. He assured me he would be out promptly should anything come up, and to not hesitate to call. After this experience I will not hesitate to call C.H. Kruse for any future plumbing needs. Our kitchen sink had been backing up off and on for a few months when suddenly the problem became more like, "Oh, the sink WON'T drain now." Great.... We chose CH Kruse because of all these awesome reviews on Yelp and we're now pleased to throw our positive review out there as well.
