I had an emergency and contacted several plumbing services listed on Yelp today. Due to the winter storm, all the highly-reviewed companies were fully booked for the next 2-3 weeks. While scrolling, I came across Everlasting Plumbing, which had fewer reviews, and hoped they might have a sooner appointment. After sending a quote request, Zak declined, explaining that he was booked for the next 3 weeks as well. However, what set him apart was his next step. He requested my phone number and images of the issue, then called me to share what he would do if it were his own house. Although we couldn't execute exactly what he suggested and basically gave up, our attempts surprisingly made a difference, resolving the problem. To our delight, we hadn't experienced water pressure this high in the shower for years. Although Zak didn't physically come to our house, he generously took time out of his day to assist me, a stranger, over the phone, free of charge. Notably, our issue wasn't even his main specialty, but he wasn't hesitant to admit it and still offered valuable guidance. He also referred me to another company just in case. I was referred to Everlast Plumbing from another plumbing company for some drain work that needed to be done in our crawlspace. Another contractor found our drain to be leaking and requested we get the issue fixed with a plumber before they proceed with cleanup work. Our original plumber was not able to complete the work we needed, so I called Zak at Everlast. My call was returned promptly, and I received a quote range after providing some photos and details of the work that was needing done. Zak asked some clarifying questions in order to match the new bathtub hardware with our existing setup. Dylan came out a couple days later, lowered himself into our crawlspace, and went to work. Dylan worked on our drain for a few hours, but had set out drop cloths to avoid getting our house dirty with the fallout from the job. After completing the job, Everlast explained the work completed, reasons we had the leak in the first place, and gave me advice on another upcoming small project. Thanks! My exterior hose pipe protruded from the wall and despite insulation, started leaking after 20* weather. Given the recent freeze and so many having busted pipes and other issues involving plumbing I wasn't surprised when every plumbing company I contacted quoted1 - 2 weeks out or a flat out no for new jobs or new customers. What did surprise me was when Zak (the owner) texted me back that they had someone in the area that could come out right away. Well I missed that window because I didn't see the text in time, but Zak said he could come by a little later. And he did. And though it was simple for him to take care of our problem, my health issues stopped me from doing it. So Zak being able to come out right away, assess and take care of the problem was truly a help. He also explained what was going on and what we will no doubt be looking at down the road. We're first time homeowners who bought our house knowing that it was going to need to be completely repiped, including the line out to the street. We got bids from 6 different plumbers before deciding to go with Everlast and could not have had a better experience. I'm not usually one to write reviews, so the fact that I'm writing this at all is a testament to how great it was working with Zak and Dylan. Not only was Zak's bid one of the most competitive (I think only one other company was less expensive, and only slightly), but we got the impression that everyone else who placed a bid would be treating our house like a worksite, while Zak and co. would treat it like our home. Seems like a small thing but it really made us feel a lot more comfortable with the idea of our house getting ripped apart. Repiping the whole house is no small task and we were anxious! Zak was so incredibly patient and thorough from the very start; answering all of our questions and making sure to cover some important considerations for this kind of work that we had probably not thought of as new homeowners. It was an easy choice to go with Everlast. When the job actually started, both Zak and Dylan were amazing. Professional, friendly, efficient, communicative, personable, etc. Pick a positive adjective; they were that. I also had them replace a kitchen faucet and install an outside warm/cold water hose bib. There were tricky areas when working on the bathroom because of it being an older home - esp the tub area - things weren't level/square anymore so they had to contend with that but they took it in stride and made it all come together! Zak was fantastic. I first called him when I needed help getting the cartridge on our shower faucet to set correctly. He wasn't judgmental at all that I was attempting this minor project myself and ended up having to call for help. He was able to make it to our house within a few hours after my call. We then asked him to complete two other projects. He re-worked the plumbing under our shower and he ran new plumbing for our washing machine. Our house is over 100 years old with quirky plumbing throughout, and most plumbers basically tell us we need to redo everything. Our ancient washtub where our washing machine drains finally met its maker, a clog that couldn't be remedied. We were leaving for vacation later that week and needed the do all of our kid's laundry. Zak was great: don't hesitate to call him. I got my bathroom sink snaked this morning (not by Zak), and that caused the basement drain pipe to burst--it was paper-thin. Not the drain guy's fault, just ancient plumbing. Anyway, he recommended Zak. He was here by mid-afternoon and in two hours it was better than new, for a reasonable price. Zak did a fantastic job for us! We had a shower that wouldn't stop running. The only way to turn off the shower was to turn off water to the entire house; creating a quite urgent situation! Zak responded to my call promptly and fit us into his schedule when his referral had closed for the evening.
