September 19, 2022 with a reservation our group of 7 went for dinner. I emphasize, with a reservation, because there was another group there that was unhappy that we got seated first. The difference between our group and their group was that we made a reservation ahead of time. We sat in the back room. And we started off with a couple bottles of wine and a cocktails. The wine list is well thought out and they have numerous specialty cocktails. Let me start by saying that dinner rolls are wonderful. We ultimately ended up ordering five grouper entrées. We had the entrées prepared several different ways. They were all absolutely delicious! And we also had a huge variety of sides. The truffle potatoes were a hit, they're delicious and can be ordered loaded as well (go for it)! The collards were good, the brussels sprouts even better. For dessert we ordered the peanut butter pie, Keylime pie and the fried Oreos. Every one of them was really good and looks like the plates been licked clean. We were served by the owner himself and visited the restaurant with another couple who had been there just the day before with a group and liked it so much they wanted to eat there again! One of the better places I have eaten recently. We got the grouper bites, crab queso dip, and I ordered the filet with sweet potato fries and the Yukon potatoes. To me, the steak had a slight balsamic taste which I'm not a huge fan of but it was subtle and didn't take away much from the steak that was cooked perfectly. The apps and sides were amazing. The service was very good until we got desserts and there was an unusual delay in receiving those after the food arrived so quickly. Oh not to mention they bring bread for the table which are these sweet rolls that are were super soft! After I ate, I ordered 3 of the 4 dessert options because I felt they would be amazing. To me, they were not as impressive as the entrees but solid choices. My favorite was the peanut butter pie. Key like was very tart and strong in key lime flavor. Cheesecake was a subtle and very soft cheesecake with sour cream something layer on top. Normally comes with raspberry glaze but I asked for it on the side so I could try just the cheesecake. The AC was turned up so high the chairs were freezing the whole time we were there, kids were not happy. We ordered crab dip, kids cheeseburger, sirloin, mahi mahi, and famous prime rib. The crab dip was ok and the cheeseburger bun was mushy. The sirloin was supposed to be medium but came out rare with a large chewy sinew (silver skin) down the middle, very cheap cut and kids didn't like it. Prime rib was ok, a little salty. The asparagus was thicker than my thumbs and the stems were hard to chew. The mahi mahi was very dry, almost had to send it back. This place was recommended by a local Lyft driver. All dishes were very good and met expectations. It was very busy and there isn't a lot of privacy in regard to where we sat. Restaurant was suggested by a coworker. Party of 4 and seated immediately. We each got something different but the highlights were Mahi Tacos, Brussels deep fried with Bacon, New Potatoes, and the Ribeye. As you can see by the picture the Mahi tacos were STUFFED with goodness. We couldn't get enough of the Brussels as they were perfectly glazed and the new potatoes were done right with simply salt and pepper. There was NOTHING left of that Ribeye when the meal was complete. That sums that experience up nicely. Also a noteworthy side comment that I did not take pictures of were the quality of drinks. My understanding is the bartender is a Mixologist with numerous awards. Delish! And the cheesecake with strawberry couai was made by a 19 year old staff member. Hats off to this young man. Upon arrival we were greeted very warmly. We were seated in a booth. The restaurant is very nicely decorated inside. Our waitress name was Rachel. She was kind, attentive, professional. I ordered shrimp and grits, two people from my party got grouper, another got a shrimp dinner, child got chicken and fries. We also ordered fried pickles. When the food arrived our table was quiet. All of the food was beautifully plated. My meal was outstanding with flavor and creaminess from the grits. I actually ate slowly because I wanted to savor it. They were generous with how many shrimp they gave in that meal as well. Everyone else in my party was pleased with their food. We also ordered peanut butter pie for dessert. Delicious! Everyone that worked there was nice from the hostess to the waitress to the other employees who passed our table who smiled. I wish we would have eaten there twice during our trip!!! Side note that you should be aware of: when using a credit card-they do tack on the 3% fee to your bill. It's a credit card processing fee. That's the first business we've seen do that. As you would expect - and hope - for any place befitting the moniker "best foodie" restaurant, C Level is busy. I had a to call a good half dozen times to get through. Not to be deterred I finally reached a never pleasant person who took my oder over the phone and allowed me to pay with a credit card. The report from my Mother and her close friend - heavenly. They both thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the decadent deserts. The next time I am on the panhandle, and COVID numbers taken into account allow for safe dining, we will try to eat in vivo at C Level . . . or at minimum make sure we get take out again. He explained that a cup was plenty and since we were leaving in the morning we're very appreciative of the advice. My wife and I decided to split the wedge salad as it is a favorite of ours when we are out. This was the best one we have had, and we have had a lot. It was enough for four to have a nice portion but since on vacation, we devoured it ourselves. I orders the fish and chips as I really wanted fresh grouper. Only do fried on vacation. It was wonderful and the homemade tartar sauce was a great addition. My wife opted for the crab cakes which were huge and delicious. I must say the portion sizes were very nice. The girls split a ribeye and the cooks were very nice to divide equally. The flavor was perfect. They ordered medium well and it was still juicy. Cannot tell you how much I wanted to get a second steak medium rare. :-). The sides were standouts. I had the coleslaw and the depth of flavor was fantastic. The waiter suggested this and the fontina grits that my wife chose. Best grits in the south as far as I'm concerned. It was a very nice evening out and everything was wonderful. When we first entered the restaurant, my eyes were immediately drawn to the aquarium images that were above the bar. They looked like screen savers! Pretty awesome. The bar was very nicely lit up as well, creating a display that also caught my attention. The food was very good. The grouper bites as an appetizer...great! And so much food...one person in our party had the platter, which was crab legs, shrimp and two sides. It was a lot of food and the crabs legs were about 11 inches...pretty good sized. The drinks were good and were made consistently, meaning that the hurricane that I ordered twice tasted the same each time. Kudos to the bartender! Our server, Haley, was absolutely awesome! She paid attention to our needs, and she was very responsive. In addition to our table, she was also taking care of a much larger party of about ten people, but she made it a point to always check on us, made sure that we were enjoying ourselves and just making the dining experience a very pleasant one. Our sever messed up our table of just 8 people and charged one of us $50 over than what his check should have been. However, the manager was very helpful in fixing that while our server would've let us leave and let her have the 20% extra gratuity when his check should have only been $90 in total. I use to love this place. When it was on Thomas Drive, the owner would go table to table to make sure all was good. The food was always great, no complaints. It's def a cute place, I'll give it that. I was just recently there after not being there for 18 months. The food was unimpressionable. NO seasoning on the fish or prime rib sandwich. The shrimp and grits had some weird sauce - not like it use to be. The fries were good! The prices were above and beyond what was deserved for what was served. To top it off, we had a party of 6, the bills were split amongst 3 couples and the server STILL automatically added the gratuity to each ticket. Like seriously? You don't think we will tip you?
