DINE OUT 2019 Decided to come here because it was on the list of "best value for your money". And I have to say I was pretty surprised how tasty and filling everything was. I came with a group of 8 and it was actually quite dead on a Friday night. I'm not complaining since our food came out pretty fast. $35 for a 3 course meal was totally worth it! We first got served some baguette with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The first course: Calamari | Salt & pepper Squid + Lemon Aioli. Man this was so good. Perfectly crisp and the aioli wasn't overpowering. Second course: Squash Gnocchi + Truffle-Porcini Cream. I was the only person that didn't get Wagyu as my second course but I'm so glad I chose this! The gnocchi was packed with flavour, super soft and light. The cream sauce made the dish even more delicious. It was more than I expected so I ended up sharing with my table. Dessert: Chocolate Mousse Cake + Salted Caramel + Bourbon Gelato. This really made my whole meal. A bit too sweet for me but I didn't let it go to waste. It was so good!! Our dinner was fantastic! We came to CPrime after reading all the wonderful things that have been said about the chef and the restaurant and to enjoy a great meal. The 8 oz Wagyu steak was prepared perfectly and it was seasoned perfectly, tender and flavorful. The side dishes of Macaroni and Cheese and Braised Rapini were generous and delicious. I went there on Christmas Day 2023 with a Meetup group that have weekly brunch around Vancouver. Before I give a full blown review of their service and food, I will make it clear that I don't want to be customer from hell, especially on a Christmas day!! I recognize that: 1. it is Christmas Day so they will be short of staff. And the staff who had to work may not be in a good mood. 2. the food from the restaurant may not be your best. 3. because of lack of staff, food can be delayed Our group had 14 people in it. We got there at 11:30. At that time, eggs were still being served but it was at close to switching over to lunch menu. I originally wanted their Century Eggs, basically your basic, eggs-sausage-toast-hashbrown dish. Nothing fancy, I just want the eggs poached. One of other persons in the group got their late and want something else off the menu. I decided to order something else too and asked for the menu back. I looked it over and decided the eggs dish probably was my best bet. I mentioned to the server I want the original dish. At this stage, we had sit down for 20 minutes already so i figured it was my fault that it was late. Another 15 minutes passed and all the other group members except the me and the member that got there late got their food. Another 15 minutes and they all finished. At this point, it is at one hour mark. I and the other group member had no food. I had a tea and hot water was never refilled. At this point, I was told you folks had comp the meals of the other people. My fellow group members was asking on my behalf where was my meal. I didn't wanted to cause a scene so I kept quiet. Despite promised numerous times that it will come shortly it NEVER came! By 1:15 or so the other member left in a fit. I was still hoping for some food and waited for another 5 minutes until another server informed me that my food had been cancelled! At this stage it was close to 2 hours that I had been there. I understand that you comp the other people in our group so you probably wasn't happy about that but such is life. I understand that you may not be able to serve any eggs after 11:30 but I was not inform of it until very late. C-Prime is a nice restaurant located on the ground floor of Century Plaza Hotel. My partner and I came for the $28 weekend buffet Brunch after our workout at the YMCA down the street. The vast variety available here will satisfy all tastes. Additionally, the buffet is vegetarian friwndly. A lot of tasty seafood options (smoked salmon, seared tuna, etc) were featured the day of our meal. The lounge itself is very comfy and service staff were attentive to our needs. On Valentines day my gf and I couldn't find any places but somehow there were some spots at C prime. We went back for our aniversary because it was that good. By far one of the greatest places. Shout out to Sam because he remembered us from our first visit and made this second visit even more enjoyable. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was very classy/elegant. Looking forward to taking my brother out for his birthday before our cruise. There where five of us, including my 91year old mother. This server took our dinner order and then asked us if we wanted a cocktail. We ordered cocktails and a bottle of wine for dinner. The wine came out prior to the cocktails. Four steaks were ordered and they were so tough, they should've been served with a saw. Service was extremely slow at best. In fact, we were there for 2 1/2 hours. The chef sat with the table behind us for over an hour, chitchatting while food continued coming out to them. Our server assured one of our guest that her ribeye would not be bleeding. Even after she sent it back, it came back, still bleeding all over the plate. The sides were cold, the risotto was good. At the end for guest order gelato, which we have never tasted gelato quite like that. They also brought us a complementary Limoncello . Please call Limoncello's in Prescott Arizona and find out how to make it. I can also recommend Steak 44 in Phoenix to learn how to cook a steak. $500 later I would say, I will never be back. read more

UGGH. That is my first reaction when thinking about this place. The food and atmosphere are great, however the food comes in super small portions and at regular price is really expensive for what you get. And the service - was HORRIBLE. I came here to try out the restaurant with a group of friends for dine out. Our reservation was at 7:30, so I made plans for the rest of the night at around 9:30. Surely we'd be done our meal by then right? Wrong. Let me clarify that the restaurant wasn't even very full when we were there. The waitress didn't even come to take our order until half an hour in - and it wasn't until at least another half hour until we got the first course out of 3 (1 hour after we sat down). She forgot to bring our friends their wine pairings multiple times, so we had to wait for her to come by again (which she did rarely) to ask her to bring the wine that they were supposed to drink with their meal. By the time we got our dessert it was already 10 (think about that, 2.5 hours after we initially sat down). I told the waitress to bring the check for us as she brought us our dessert because we were IN A HURRY. I didn't even have time to enjoy the dessert - I just wolfed it down and had to book it because I'm now late for my other plans. The waitress dropped our bill on the table - UNSEPARATED because she didn't even ask. We were all looking for the waitress to come back. 10 minutes, no waitress. After I had told her we were in a hurry. Eventually we took our bill to the front, and the waitress finally got us the machine - then couldn't figure out how to separate the bill for the table so we had to wait for that too. If we hadn't been so adamant that we were in a hurry and had to leave, we would've been there for 3 hours at least. I shudder to imagine what it would've been like had the place been actually full. 3 HOURS to finish our dinner with the waitress constantly forgetting about us?? I feel that the higher pricing is not warranted. I rate this restaurant 2 stars based on the value for my dollar. Good Happy Hour. This is all I can attest to, as I am never here for a lunch or diner setting. Mostly there after work on Fridays with a handful of colleagues. They serve $5 beer and wine, including Prosecco, which seems to always be a hit when trying to unwind. The Happy Hour ranges in price from $6-$10, i'm partial to their Parmesan Truffle Fries, great to share because you eat them piping hot. They have fancy Wagyu Sliders and Tempura Shrimp at the top end of the price scale. This restaurant is in a hotel, so its hit or miss on how busy it gets. For our first Dine Out adventure this year, I picked C | Prime, which is an Italian restaurant located inside Century Plaza Hotel in downtown Vancouver. They offered a $30 3-course menu with an optional $20 (for 9oz) wine pairing. We were started with some Foccacia bread with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and olives. The bread was fluffy, light and moist, quite enjoyable to begin with as we waited for our food. I was super excited about their baked clams appetizer, but due to the recent news regarding multiple people experiencing food poisoning-like conditions with oysters, they decided to pull that option from the menu for safety measures and offered a Grilled Calimari Steak on Arugula Salad instead. Adorables ordered this and it was clear that this was a last-minute change to the menu, since the squid was not seasoned all the way through. Texture was chewy and overall an enjoyable dish. I opted for the Mediterranean Octopus with Heirloom Tomatoes and Fingerling Potatoes. This was another surprise, since originally it was octopus with eggplant and roasted pepper puree, I didn't mind the change though. The octopus was soft and tender, nicely marinated with flavors deep into the meat. Tomatoes burst in my mouth and the potatoes were cooked well. To try everything on the menu, MaCherie ordered the Twice Baked Asiago Cheese with Hazelnut Salad. Aesthetically this was the most pleasing of the trio of appetizer options. It looked like a little cookie on the salad! The texture of the cheese reminded me of quiche, and paired nicely with the salad. A little on the heavier side for appetizers though. Onto the mains, Adorables got Lamb Loin with Parmesan Risotto, Wild Mushrooms, and Rosemary Jus. The lamb portion felt a little small, but the flavors were deliciously marinated into the meat. The risotto was creamy and rice melted in my mouth nicely. Mushrooms added a nice touch to the flavors dancing in my mouth. ChezWil, being a chef himself opted for a medium rare variation of the dish, and it looked beautiful. He explained that this allowed him to taste the gaminess of the lamb better. I got the Arctic Char with Chickpea and Chorizo. The char was almost white in color, which suggests to me that it might be farmed, since the color of the meat depends on the feed that is given to the fish and can be controlled to suit the purchasers' needs. Nonetheless, this was perfectly cooked, the fish was moist and the skin was crispy. I felt disconnection between the chickpea, chorizo and fish though. It felt like they just happened on the same dish and had little interaction as a dish. It was underwhelming. Being the trooper, MaCherie opted for the vegetarian option of Gnocchi with Wild BC Mushrooms in a Porcini Truffle Cream Sauce. This was surprisingly my favorite dish out of the three mains. The gnocchi was light, fluffy, and full of flavor. The cream sauce was rich and I could taste the mushroom which complimented the gnocchi well. This was a bit much to eat for one person, since it was so rich and creamy, but we shared it and I couldn't just stop at one piece! Onto our favorite part of the meal: desserts! Adorables got the Paniforte Siena with Almonds, Hazelnuts, and Candied Fruits, which was a baked cake consisting of the nuts and fruits. It was plated with chocolate creme and I think a salted caramel sauce (with some sort of alcohol I couldn't figure out). The cake wasn't too dry, had some crispy bits and when combined with the bitter chocolate creme and sauce-- made for a deadly combination! I loved it! I ordered the Lemon Tart with Lemon Curd and Italian Meringue, which was the highlight of dessert. The lemon curd was deliciously tangy, with bits of lemon in it and the consistency was perfect. The smooth and tart lemon curd contrasted well with the sweet crispy tart. The dish was adorned with meringue pieces and marshmallow, quite pleasing to the eye and palate! It just happened so that MaCherie ordered the heaviest of the options all meal! The Warm Spiced Pumpkin Bread Pudding with Salted Caramel Gelato although delicious, was quite filling. The bread pudding was dense but melted in my mouth. Reminded me of autumn (probably because of the pumpkin), I could taste the pumpkin strongly. Salted caramel gelato helped a little with cutting the heaviness of the bread pudding and was a great end to our meal. The staff were friendly and helpful, but don't expect fast service here. Indifferent service, bland food, but pretty and convenient. For those looking for the authentic stuck-up waiter of yore, look no further than C Prime. We were served by an older gentlemen who could barely muster the enthusiasm to discern our needs, muttering utterances in passing and leaving us to hope our wishes may have been heard within the doppler effect of his brief fly-bys. I asked to have my dirty fork replaced, and he simply reached over to the adjacent table and silently plopped the utensil down, with a look practically demanding acclaim for his ingenuity. The food was well-made, but lacked seasoning. I was thankful that our bread starter came with some kosher salt, which I applied to my butternut squash agnolotti liberally. I wanted to ask for some pepper, but was scared. The bright note? Apart from the pleasant surroundings, the hotel gives visitors a $25 voucher, which made the whole experience forgivable. To be clear: the other servers seemed cheerful and responsive (when the friendly younger man cleared my dishes, I felt like a prisoner of war being discovered, but yet, not liberated). I felt like I was in a steak house with an impressive wine selection. My oysters were fresh and delish with real grated horse radish. I ordered the duck which was very yummy - the downfall was it was cold. Like it was sitting out for a while. My friend had the salmon she said it was good but didn't like the pea purée that was mixed in the decorative sauce. She found the mint overpowering. Next was the white asparagus with croquettes. Went here for Fathers Day dinner. Wasn't very busy this night. This is a nice restaurant inside the Century Plaza Hotel. We started with some bread that they served us. Couldn't exactly remember the flavour but it tasted good. I ordered the 30oz ribeye steak which I shared with my SO. The steak was done perfectly and was one of the best steak I have tasted in Vancouver and that includes Gotham or Hys. Etc. We had mash potatoes and button mushrooms for sides. The mash potatoes were alright but I really liked the mushrooms. My dad had the 8oz Wagyu rib steak. He said it was ok but preferred our ribeye that he tried. The daily vegetable soup he had was also very tasty and the portion was big. Even though this places isn't as big or busy as Gotham. I still prefer the food here and the prices are much better. Hope this place attracts more customers cause I hate to see a good and reasonably priced steak house close. read more

These guys are terrible. I have bought / leased 5 bmws in 5 & 7 series and will not go back to Park Shore. Prices are the same at all dealers so it comes down to service. BMW pays them for all service work in the warranty period but Park Shore always looks to add costs, doesn't offer a courtesy car or even a a ride beyond a few kms. I have dealt with the BMW Store and Jessel and either is a better option. Just wish the others were closer to the North Shore. read more

C Prime was the only one that could take all of us at 7pm. We had to give it a try even the reviews weren't that good. Actually, the food quality, service, and the ambience were exceptionally good with very reasonable price. Especially the Wagyu steak. My friends highly praised it (juicy, tender, perfectly done at the pinkness we wanted). All of us couldn't understand why some of the reviews were bad but C Prime is definitely a secret gem people neglected. We will definitely go back again when we are in town next time. read more

Pretty hard to mess up carbonara but this place managed to do it. One bite, and all I tasted was plain noodles- second bite, the same. There was pancetta in it, but the pancetta was overcooked and didn't flavor the pasta. My wife had the pasta with shrimp and it was not bad, but not up to the standards of a "fine" Italian restaurant. This is a beautiful place with great potential, but it is lacking in the basics to be a good or great restaurant. The prices are high and neither the service nor the food make it to the price level. Went here for lunch today. I have fond memories at Beyond Lounge, the restaurant that was previously in this location. Note this is meant to be a high-end Italian/steak restaurant, and priced to match, so my expectations started out high. No bread was served at the outset. Perhaps only for dinner? The lunch menu features 4 pastas (spaghetti in tomato sauce, clam linguine, gnocchi and another I can't remember), 2-3 pizzas, and a few sandwiches and a steak. The half order of clam linguine was $14 and was disappointing. The pasta tasted dried, not fresh. It was al dente. However, the boiling water in which it was cooked was unsalted (or not salted enough). The burger at $14 according to my dining companions was good but, without any sides included, of questionable value. My brother ordered fries separately which were unseasoned. Maybe their steaks fare better. However, the unsalted pasta water seemed like such a basic error that I may not come here again. read more

The busboy, hostess, host, and bartender (or whomever brought the drinks over) had much more personality than the one older waiter who seemed like he'd rather be anywhere but at work. I was stating I the hotel to which this restaurant is attached and ate here several times: one lunch and several breakfasts. The service was impeccable, attentive and friendly. Nice variety in the breakfasts, with omelettes, corn beef hash (with shaved bits of meat and shredded potatoes really nicely grilled and a creamy yet light hollandaise sauce), steak and eggs, and some rather quirky dishes (I LOVE pancakes but even I wasn't up to the Nutella pancakes so early in the morning). The lunch was brilliant. All of the offerings were locally influenced and freshly made. I had the parpadelle while my dining companion had the gnocchi and both were excellently prepared and served. Went with my partner for dineout last night for date night and I just felt rushed then ignored. We barely sat down and our server was asking if we knew what we wanted to drink, I've never had three courses so quick. The food was great but we had very little interaction with our server when it came to quality checks. I think she was annoyed I asked to keep the drink menu. I heard other interactions with other tables and it was very different. We waited a solid 40minutes (an entire table behind us dine out experience) to get the bill at the end which is so odd to me. We would have happily had another drink or a coffee if anyone was around to order from. I even tried to get attention from the bartender who then hid from me then tried to find out server. I wish I could say it was busy so it was understandable but it was a slow Sunday. We walked in and we were the 3rd table there and we left and there was 3 other tables there. It's such a cool room and the food is good but I'm so confused on why our server wanted nothing to do with us. read more

Came for the Sunday Brunch buffet and it was exceptionally good. It was well worth the $28 per person, especially in downtown Vancouver. Food was plentiful but what I liked most was the fruit section with all kinds of fresh fruits; strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cantaloupe, melons, pineapples, kiwi, pears....Service was attentive and the waitress came by several times to check if we needed anything. Dine Out Vancouver 2021 Festival is on until March 7, 2021 and our restaurant community is on life supper with reduced seating. I always like to look for places during Dine Out that I have not tried before and the menu at C Prime caught my eye. This restaurant is huge and there was no trouble getting a table on a Wednesday night. Here's the highlights: great value, great quality and a very nice wine pairing option that included some ice wine with dessert. If you are ordering from the $35 dine out dinner menu I recommend the tuna tartare. We also tried the cauliflower appetizer which was well executed but we liked the tuna tartare much more. For entrees we ordered the Zuppa di Pesce and the Short Ribs and both were winners which is great when there are two of you dining and you like to share. If not sharing and you like seafood, I would recommend the Zuppa di pesce. For dessert we tried one of each: the tiramisu cheesecake and the chocolate mousse cake. I enjoyed the chocolate mousse cake and we did not share these so I can only say that based on the two empty plates, both were good. We chose the wine pairing which is a great deal for + $25. My friend and I both got the wagyu steak, but it was not wagyu, and I've had wagyu in Japan. Both my friend and I agreed it wasn't fatty enough. Went for dinner with a client at this brand new restaurant last week. I've eaten at Beyond Lounge before and they have made a giant change to the restaurant renovating the entire space to this very sleek and sophisticated space. The space is suitable for business meetings, romantic nights out or even just casual drinks. Client and I split the following: - 8 oz Snake River Waygu California Cut Rib Eye - Duck Confit Tortelli - Truffle French Fries - Sauteed Wild Mushrooms - Grilled Asparagus + Parmesan Food was excellent and very delicious all the way around. This was my first time having Waygu Beef and I was excited to get a chance to try such a treat. C Prime did not disappoint and the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the sides complemented the meal. Of particular note was the wine offered glass. C Prime has this really cool system where they use this machine that inserts an inert gas as wine is poured from the bottle keeping the wine fresh. I had a chance to chat with the Bar Manager and it looks like a great way to offer more wines by the glass. Amazing service...extremely fast..the vibe is classy and has a great little sports bar in it alongside some great tables for larger groups . I had the sea scallops as a starter..they were velvety ..perfectly cooked and pan seared with amazing seasoning. The main course was a fall apart selection of veal that melted in my mouth and was probably the best kind of meat I've ever had. The following night I came back and had the lobster Ravioli...it was a fanatic freshly made pasta with just the right amount of lobster and a nice creamy sauce..it can't imagine anyone being unhappy with this restaurant. read more

Wow! Horribly cooked steak in a great environment. The restaurant bar environment is up-scale and I would say it is the perfect "Refined Sports Bar Atmosphere". On the other hand the cook should have never risen from fry cook to chef. I ordered a $45 rare to medium-rare 22 oz. bone-in big cowboy steak... It was cooked very well done to dry. There was no moisture in the first cut so I cut this bad-boy down the middle to see what I was in for... There was nothing but dry and well done going on in that cut The waitress was there asking how my steak tasted so I sent it back. She left and came back with the same steak saying the chef disagreed. I'm sure I've eaten more steaks than this clown and without question I've purchase more steaks than he ever will... I know how a good rare to medium rare steak looks and tastes and this was not near one of them. I sent that old beef jerky back again and guess what? It came back a third time! The chef has no clue what rare means... Not a trace of dripping moisture, red appearance or taint of blood and he thinks that's rare? All I wanted was a edible steak and all I got was beef jerky. One half bite and I walked away hungry heading for the nearest acceptable meal of any kind. Don't waste time or money here if you are looking for a steak... C Prime is located inside Century Plaza Hotel on Burrard Street. There is a bus station right in front of the building. We came here for a work Christmas Party. The person in charge first offered us the crappiest appies for 30$/person. We later tweaked our appies menu a bit but it is pretty pricey; $3.75 for a dinky piece of crab cake. Appies ranges anything from $2.5 to $3.75 per piece. The place is new, looks upscale and nice with friendly staff at the bar. We ran into some issues during the whole night; we specifically requested for them to space out our appies during the 4 hour party but they basically didn't follow instructions at all. We pretty much ran out of appies an hour or so before the party ended and for those guests that had to arrive late were starving with no food. There was no communication at all. I had specifically told the staff if they can put a hold on appies until 30 mins later and they would tell me there's no food left, but brings out more food after 2 mins. i was furious at that time and i was told that the chef and manager were not being so nice about it. There was no accommodation or apologies from them. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this place at least for our next year's work Christmas party. Not at all intrusive, both servers were very aware of when to be available. Heidi was our main server. Excellent service. We were presented with bread, basalmic vinegar/oil and olives while waiting for our lunch. Very nice. I had the Zuppa Di Pesce (Seafood soup). Soup tasted deliciously perfect. Scallops, shrimps and nice size chunk of salmon. Other person had Spaghetti. The Carbonara sauce on Spaghetti Dish was somewhat okay. Would never order it again. Went here for a date night and it is an improvement over Beyond (the previous restaurant) but I was definitely expecting more. The appetizers and pastas we had were both a let down, lacking refinement which I expected from the chef's pedigree and the price point. Seasoning was uneven (some dishes were over salted, some under) and the sauces were both watery. What saved the meal were a solid, not too marked up wine list, good service and the amazing steak. Might be our new go to for that kind of splurge. But since the handmade pasta was what I was really geared up for, I have to say it was not good. read more
