We woke up to a nightmare scenario on Christmas Eve morning - no water coming from my parents' faucets. My parents live out in the country (in Montgomery County) and thus aren't connected to any city water supply, with a ground water well that goes down ~235 feet. We had a Christmas Eve party planned for later that evening, followed by a big day with family on Christmas. But without any water, we were completely screwed - I thought we were going to have to call an audible and transfer everything over to my sister's house, which would be less than ideal. Moreover, we didn't know how bad the situation was - there was a drought over the summer of 2024, so we worried our well might have run dry. This had already happened to my parents ground water well back in 1984, forcing them to re-drill the well over 100 feet deeper (a major undertaking for anybody who's gone through this). Given that it was Christmas Eve, we didn't know if anybody would be available to help us; but fortunately, my Dad was able to get ahold of C.S. Garber & Sons in Douglassville, who sent a crew out to us immediately. Shawn and Aidan got to my parents' house around 9 AM, quickly diagnosed the problem, and got to work right away. They determined we had plenty of water in our well (i.e. it didn't go dry) but weren't getting any current from the well pump, which had finally stopped working after 48 years. They got their equipment setup and started pulling the old pump out, which got stuck halfway, leading us to wonder if the well had collapsed. Fortunately, with Aidan's strong frame pulling, they eventually got the pump jarred loose - most likely a large rock was in the way. They even had a brand new ¾ horsepower pump in their work truck, which is exactly what my father wanted to replace our old 1/2 horsepower pump with. Got the new pump hooked up, placed back down into the well and working in no time. They were done before noon and we had zero issues thereafter. Shawn and Aidan are real-life superstars that quite literally saved our Christmas! Can't recommend these guys enough if you're having water issues or an emergency at your house or business. read more

I'd been trying to get my Water Service company on the phone for two days... I called Garber and they dispatched a service truck that arrived 90 minutes after my call. They completely changed our well pumping system with NO authorization or written estimate. After a month of dealing with a manager and basically being called a liar. We were stuck paying a very large bill. read more

Awful, awful experience. Our home water pump stopped working in the morning before I had to go to work so I called Garber in a pinch while I was at work to get it working before I came home. My father went to my home to meet the tech who diagnosed the problem and said "it was an easy fix" he had the part on his truck. They were in and out in less then an hour. Everyone's happy! Until they send a bill for 300$ for less then an hour of work and a 40$ part. I spoke with the company owner and he said it's a fair rate because I have to pay for the tech's drive time and parts/ labor and equipment. I asked aren't parts and equipment the same thing and he said no you have to pay to rent "their screwdrivers and such." He said if I didn't like the price I should have asked about those things before contracting them. Who knew I would have to ask about their screwdriver rental fees? EXTORTION! Needless to say, I would avoid this company at all costs. I've never known another company to charge you for drive time and "screwdriver rental fees." read more

I've used CS Garber for the past 7years and have always been happy with their work. Their guys are always professional and polite and knowledgeable. I get a yearly service for my neutralizer and had to replace a well pump when we first moved into this house. I didn't even know where the well was outside, but workers found it under a large shrub and trimmed it so they could access it. They were amazing and determined the problem and fixed it quickly. The price was very fair and they did a terrific job. Highly recommend! read more

We purchased a home in which Garber & sons had not buried the piping below the frost line...well line froze in mid winter leaving us without water for 2 days. Not only did they fight us about reinstalling pipe properly, they damaged our septic system when they finally arrived and left before completing the job. Definitely WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. read more

My well went kaput. I needed it hydro-fracked. I called Garber on a Friday morning, they had a truck here by the next Wed. They arrived when they said they would, they were courteous, answered all my questions and worked until they finished. I was quoted an accurate estimate, and they emailed me the contract. They did an awesome job fracking my well and we could not be more pleased. We will notify our neighbors of this fine company and you would not go wrong calling them for your well issues. read more

We had C.S. Garber drill our well. While drilling they damaged our hand pump bending the shaft. They attempted to weld it back together. This is not acceptable. The installer told us he would take care of it. This was in May. I paid most of the bill leaving a approximately $700 balance until our pump is repaired. Starting June 30th we are receiving a monthly invoice with service charges for the unpaid balance. Upon receipt of the 1st bill we called and explained the situation to the person answering the phone. We were told we had to speak to Barry. We left a message for Barry. Barry came out to look at the pump and then we never heard or saw them again. Now I just received another statement with a service charge for both June and July. I again called and explained the situation to the office person. She put me through to Barry where I left a message. We will see what this brings. I would have to think twice or three times before doing business with them again. read more

My first 2 experiences with garber were fine. They installed my water softener and uv light with no problems. My last two experiences however were enough to wipe any positive memories out of my head. The last time I had called them they gave me an 8am-12pm time window. 12 o'clock came and still no one. I called and turned out they completely forgot to write down my appointment but ended up coming later in the day. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured accidents happen. I called them again recently to have my water system serviced and was given an 8-12 window of time again. Once again 12 came around with no calls to update me or anything so i called them and was told they were running late. I figured theyd be here in an hour or so but I didnt receive a call until 3:15pm asking if i could reschedule for another day. I was hoping I could have atleast worked a half day but ended up using a personal day just waiting around for them with nothing to show for it. I will be using Gehringer from now on. read more
