So. Many. Locals.
Jon N.

A rustic and cozy pizza place that was constantly full with local Venetians - the first sign that this place served some magical pizza. When we went in, we had to wait at least 25 mins for a pizza because there were so many orders queued up by locals who had called in earlier to order. There was a constant stream of Venetians (we could tell from their very casual and also pyjamas-like clothes) waiting to order their pizza, and it felt like we had found something special. The pizzas were also amazingly priced - 6-8€ for a whole pizza, with a maxi sized pizza coating 13-16€ depending on the toppings. We were served by two very warm and friendly Venetians who did not seem to have been worn down - a sure sign that not many tourists have frequented this place. And now the review about the taste of the pizza itself - godly. Why are you still reading this. Just buy it already.

Best pizza in Venice. Mix of locals and tourists, the team there works HARD. Unless you call ahead at least an hour wait for takeaway.

Lots and lots of restaurants to choose from in Venice but this unassuming restaurant is a true gem…read more It's easy to miss as it's tucked in a corner right by a bridge. Once inside they have a couple tables with small window views of any gondolas passing by. We started off with a plate of lightly fried sardines topped with pickled white onions. The fry on the fish was super light and those vinegar-y onions were the perfect pairing. We cleaned that plate. The lasagna was well balanced with the meat, sauce, cheese. The squid ink pasta was chewy/al dente with a subtle touch of seafood flavors giving the cuttlefish. It was very umami but nothing too overbearing. Delicious! It's a Family business that was been around for many years. Grazie to the friendly staff and chef!

I am so sad to give this restaurant such a poor rating after visiting many times during the last 20…read moreyears and loving it before. The jovial mood with the waiters with big personalities is gone. The menu you can find online is no longer available so you get a very limited menu to choose from--nearly entirely seafood. So if you have anyone in your party that just wants pasta with a red meat sauce or a non seafood lasagne, not available. We were a party of 8. Two people ordered the scallop appetizers. Pretty presentation on shells. 3 tiny scallops in the shells. More like an amuse bouche. Totally disappointing. The linguine with clams as an entree had clams so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. Couldn't taste the clams and annoying to try to eat something so tiny , and just try to eat the pasta with all those tiny shells. The baby shrimp on polenta was actually good. But again the shrimp were like tiny hatchlings tempura battered. Tasted okay except for those that were soggy from the polenta that was very soupy. I wanted the gnocchi with crab which was on the very limited menu but no longer available. The alternative was gnocchi with a sea bass sauce which I chose but didn't like at all. The gnocchi were good but the sauce wasn't at all for me. We had to continue to ask for side dishes for the bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. We will not return. Poor value for your money. Plus there is a cover charge and service included in your bill which was a surprise. Very sad to see our favorite Venetian restaurant decline so much.
