I am a healthcare provider that is actively taking care of COVID positive patients and have requested a cancelation of my membership given that I cannot workout with a mask on and the risk of spreading a respiratory disease is very likely. I do not want to take away from the safety of the other patrons at the gym and requested a cancellation of the 6 months prepaid membership I had paid. Instead, the response I got back from management was that they could push my membership back to Dec 2022. However, there is no telling when an effective vaccine will come. I am trying to protect the other members that come to the gym and not put them at greater risk. I wanted to make sure that the other people coming to the gym understand that I am trying to minimize the risk to others but ownership is not letting me do so.

It's clear they are always watching everyone in the gym, in the best and most well intentioned ways. Mike is great and has offered good tips and suggestions for better form, etc. everyone who I've met here has been very kind. The gym is dog friendly and while I don't have a dog of my own to bring, it's always nice to see "the regulars" there. The dogs are friendly too and don't get in the way of those working out. There seems to be a few options for group/individual trainers. There is also preset workout for members to do if group training isn't your thing. I can't wait to try out some of their fun events and community events that they put on.

My experience at Sphere…read more A couple of years ago I took up the sport of Soccer. The doctor had just diagnosed me with Type 2 Diabetes and High Blood Pressure weighing 325lbs. This on its own should basically tell you where my journey starts. With surrounding myself around amazing people I was able to lose my first 50lbs. I was not trying to look better to say I was skinny. I just wanted off blood pressure and blood sugar meds. I started to feel a stall in my weightloss. I was healthier but I was not ready for stop my journey. I was part of a soccer league and heard a mention of Sphere. I reached out and asked. One of their members reached out to me and asked me to go try them out. I was terrified, I'm still a bigger woman I was afraid of not being able to keep up! But I told myself you've gotten this far just do it. When I walked in I was so shy! But everyone just came in for a hug. Without having done the workout yet I knew I was home. THE EXPERIENCE! ( I'm not going to call this a workout because I personally don't see it as such.) I'm not going to lie that first class had me dying. It was the hardest "workout" I had ever experienced in my life (keep in mind at this point I'm 275lbs). After leaving that class the holidays came around so I couldn't attend since I would be out of town. The coach that found me reached out and mentioned an anonymous person had gifted me their 17 day trail. I was so humbled that I had only been to their class once and someone thought of giving me this. I couldn't disappoint them! I went to as many classes as I could pushing through the pain because being there in that environment was worth it. They have SUPERB coaches! After the 17 day trail was over. I was sad, I mean who doesn't like free stuff? I saw my need and I joined the team. After about a month at sphere I landed at the goal I had been wanting for years losing 75lbs getting to 250lbs from 325lbs is surreal. Getting off medicine and most importantly REVERSING Diabetes! Honestly the only motivation you need is the motivation to get to the Pitch on time for class. After that the coaches step in and show you the POWA that you didn't know you had all along. They have quality coaches! Quality Pitch! The classes are so amazing and different and innovative. Most importantly their fearless leader is such an amazing energetic guy and you can't help but want to surround yourself around that amazing environment. I'm happy to say I've gained many teammates and built many friendships and a supportive family! My skills have improved my endurance has improved! My mentality has gone from "um no I can't do that " to "yea I'll give it a try". Sphere deserves all the support and success in the world . I'm just happy if anyone is actually is willing to read this. m happy that I am now at a 87lbs loss because of them. My health has improved drastically and I owe my love for the sport of soccer my life. Smack in the middle that's me with the cheesy smile and glasses! I always say If I can do it and throw my beginner unfit self in with a range of experienced players then why not try it yourself?

Now, I'm excited to go to class everyday. The workout routines are insane, but fun. And we have to wipe our station with disinfectant after every class which is awesome considering what's going on. I tried several others closer to me that were intimidating and where the coaches did not pay nearly enough attention to a struggling beginner. There were other gyms where coaches would be texting and chatting with their friends during the metcon. When I arrived at Iron Oak I could tell it was different. The coaches truly care about your form and push you to accomplish things you never thought possible. The programming is difficult without being impossible. The facilities are ENORMOUS, clean, and well stocked. The owners truly care about your opinion and send a yearly survey to find ways to improve the experience. They are constantly reinvesting into the gym instead of just pocketing the money. I moved farther away and drive 20 minutes to this gym to work out and it's worth every minute.
