My review will cover Stefani's barre class. I was first introduced to barre in 2019 and I've fallen in love with the practice. Stefani's barre class at Facet Seven Heights is my absolute favorite! Stefani is very upbeat, personable, fun, and extremely energetic! Her class is great for beginners and those who are advanced in the practice! She always has a fun playlist to rock out to and it makes the class even more fun! If you visit this gym, I definitely recommend checking out Stefani's barre class. She teaches on Mondays at 7:10pm, Thursdays at 6:20 or 6:35pm (sorry I can't remember), Saturdays at 10:35am, and Sundays at 9:45am.

Instantly when I started taking classes at Facet Seven I appreciated the community and friendliness at the front desk, members, and the instructors as well. I mainly take Stefani's barre, yoga, and ABC class but also have enjoyed HIIT and strengthcon with Emma. Stefani is a bright light and makes working out so fun but also challenging. Emma similarly looks to challenge but is also motivating and provided me modifications when needed with an injury, looking out for me when I didn't realize I could re-injure something without even knowing. The gym has a variety of equipment but is on the smaller side, so it's easier to see and get to know regulars in your class but also meet new people. Highly recommend!

I joined Mean Green when I first moved to Houston for two reasons: 1) I needed a fitness regime…read morethat would help me balance the rich food of the South and 2) the group I stumbled across in Herman Park one evening looked like they were having a lot of fun. The workouts are challenging and always different. The results themselves are sustainable. I am not one of those who lost tons of weight after a few months (unfortunately); rather, I'm the person who wakes up in the morning and is pleasantly surprised by how toned my arms have become or how my pants seem to slack comfortably around my waist. Even more satisfying is my improvement in strength and endurance. Mountain climbers are no longer dreaded (well, they are, but my heart can now keep up without feeling like it will burst from exhaustion) and push-ups are doable (we're working on increasing the number of reps). And, to be honest, I think this may be all I need. The Mean Green family has become a part of my extended family. I have made some great friends in the classes and am always humbled by how easy we make it for new members to fit in. The trainers all make an effort to get to know you as a person, despite how large their classes are. And when we all get together, it feels more like we're a group of students gathered for field day rather than members of a fitness class. My only criticism is that, because the sessions occur outdoors in public parks, you need to bring your own weights and mats and find a place to change beforehand. This may make it difficult for people who want to workout and shower before work. Regardless, I highly recommend Mean Green Training. There are always special discounts, so don't hesitate to ask for a trial period.

I thought, why exercise alone, when I can meet such a nice group. Mean Green has a wonderful atmosphere, with Houston's friendliest exercise enthusiasts and instructors. Classes are always punctual and organized, and I have lost 30 pounds already this past year, which has helped make me feel physically much better. Workouts are playful and challening, scenery is beautiful!

It is truly addicting, you will not want to miss even one day of class. For $60 a month you get unlimited classes, which are held Tuesday through Thursday at 6am, 5:30pm, and 6:30pm - that's only $5 a class. She will push you to your limits and then some, and you will do more in her class than you ever dreamed possible. And each class is completely different, you will always be challenged by the diversity. She runs the class in a way that all fitness levels are welcomed and are able to complete the class, and there are some extremely fit people in class as well who are also challenged by the workout. She is emphatic about all classmates treating each other with respect and encouragement. Believe me, you will appreciate the encouragement, since some days when you get home from class it will be a tough decision, whether you want to eat dinner or puke. :) Dawne goes above and beyond the role of trainer, is extremely supportive of all her boot campers, and is a great person at heart and a great friend. She sends out a monthly newsletter that has nutrition information, race information, fun profiles of your classmates, and all kinds of inspirational quotes and sayings. There are lots of other boot camps out there (and lots of others at Spotts Park where we meet), but believe me when I tell you this is THE BEST ONE IN HOUSTON!!

Dawne is great at mixing it up and keeping you on your toes. This is the only bootcamp I would personally recommend.

Fast forward to now, when I renewed my ClassPass for a month trial, RYDE was the very first class I booked because it was my favorite. I've tried other cycling establishments, but RYDE reigns superior. The studio is clean and modern. And the bathrooms are equipped with everything a girl will need, and they have Aesop soap! That's all that I need to say. I am a regular rock climber, but once I phase out of that, I can definitely see myself being a RYDE regular. The classes are high-energy, and the instructors are fantastic at keeping you motivated. I thoroughly enjoyed my classes with Gustavo and Leon. If you are on the fence about giving cycling here a chance, please do yourself a favor and try it out. It is like a party, but you're putting your energy into biking. I'm not sure when I will be back because I currently cannot justify paying almost $300 a month for a membership, but I look forward to my next visit to RYDE!

I've taken multiple teachers, and all have been great. Be warned, this is the type of cycling class where you'll be doing arm choreography, but that's what makes it so fun!
