I arranged reservations with the manager, Tyler, a couple weeks before. They were very accommodating for our party of 13 which had 3 birthday celebrants and the time switching that occurred. We were split into 2 groups and we were fine with it. In the future, I would probably limit a reservation to 6. My table ordered 1 of everything on the menu. My faves were the coco nido wings (wings with coconut rum glaze), the Stoner fried rice, and the ahi wonton tacos (cucumber, jalapeno, soy ginger, Chubasco aioli, wasabi peas). For my drink, I ordered the Fogcutter (vintage favorite combines a blend of light rum, cognac, gin, orgeat, fresh orange and lemon juice, and is finished with a port float), refreshing and not too sweet. We implemented the 'take 1 and pass left" maneuver to share all the dishes amongst us. We had a great time eating and comparing notes. There were 2 bartenders and 1 dude running food. it's not a place to eat fast. You have to be willing to chill and take in the vibe. Half the people in our party had just arrived to town so it was the perfect, festive yet low key, speakeasy setting for our party. I got a lot of in-law family points picking this place. Best speakeasy in town! There's so many amazing things to look at. Hours went by and it felt like minutes. The service was excellent. The cocktails were refreshing and very well done. I had the veggie rolls and coconut shrimp and they were delicious. Highly recommend. The ambience is lively and upbeat. I came here with a group of six ladies on a Saturday night around 9. We immediately were able to grab seats. We ordered a bunch of different cocktails so we could all share and try different things. I was shocked how strong the Mai tai was. All the drinks were vastly different and we only had one that was terrible. I recommend telling the bartender what kind of drink you're after since some were light and refreshing while others were heavy and smoky. There's something for everyone, but just based on the cocktail descriptions, you could easily order wrong. The food was amazing though - all of it! Stopped by this weekend with friends because I heard they had some mocktails on their menu. The tiki vibe is done tastefully. There's plenty of seating for a speakeasy and all the drink options sounded so good. The bar tender was busy and was getting drinks out quickly and was friendly. I ordered a mocktail which was $10. The flavor was great. It reminded me of a pineapple mojito. The only downfall was that it had a ton of ice in it so I'm not sure it was worth $10. However with the flavor I'd be willing to try it again and see if less ice is used in other drinks. I also ordered a side of fries and they were very good! The bar is really cute but the drinks weren't great. The Junglebird was pretty bad. The painkiller was ok but too sweet. I love the Painkiller at Elliot's downtown for comparison. When we got there at 8:30pm-ish on Saturday night, it was standing room only. It's interesting to see a place on the northwest side so packed. The decor and music are awesome. I love all the tiki touches, the space is very beautiful, and I enjoyed the wide collection of tiki mugs throughout the place. Unlike others, I didn't think it was hard at all to find the entrance. The signage directed us to the back of the building, and it wasn't difficult to find the door (possibly because there was still daylight when we came and we found the door handle right away?) but I liked the extra effort to get there that's proper to speakeasies. Plenty of parking available in the plaza on a Saturday late afternoon, and plenty of open seating inside the bar as well. Service was a bit on the slow side considering there weren't that many patrons, but the bartender was friendly. Food and drinks tasted decent but were a bit on the pricey side. My Husband and I went here for a date night in April. What a cool new speakeasy in Oro Valley! We initially had some trouble finding it which made it more of an adventure. I loved the tiki bar decor and mugs displayed throughout! The ambiance makes you feel like you're underwater/below deck! For food we had the spam sliders and coconut shrimp and both were delicious. I had a Mai tai which was very strong and I had to have the bartender make it sweeter. It didn't taste like other Mai Tais i've had in the past it was more of a rum on the rocks. Normally one visits tiki or speakeasy bars for the exquisite cocktail offerings. I have to say that this establishment really shines for its food menu. Not only is it a well curated eclectic mix for a tiki bar, everything we've tried has been absolutely delicious. If I were writing a restaurant only review I would not hesitate to award Cabali's with a five star rating. Sadly, their beverages are average at best, and I am being generous as their MaiTai was one of the most abysmally awful versions of this cocktail I had ever been served, where an "artificial sweetness" dominated every sip. (I'd had a similar experience on my last visit, where a manager had correctly interpreted the disgusted expression on my face and had remade my Fog Cutter into something drinkable.) In conclusion, ambiance, service and food were all excellent, though in sharp contrast to beverage quality. I do continue to recommend this business, though in lieu of cocktails I would urge visitors to instead try their delicious Jamaican rum flight, with 4 one ounce pours for $40. Wow! An interesting place finally opened in Oro Valley! You don't see that much in the town, much less a tiki bar. I really like tiki bars, and have long been a fan of Kon Tiki, so wanting to try Cabali was a natural itch I wanted to scratch. What a cool little place! Walking in from around the back of the tiny strip mall, yeah... it's a tiki bar!!! The detailing and the overall design of the place is impressive. The music they play is quite good as well. One can tell they really did their homework. Not only is it cool, BUT, it's a speakeasy-style tiki bar--no exterior signage and no front entry. You completely forget you're escaping reality right next to an Enterprise Rent-a-Car. Drink menu consisted of usual tiki mainstays with some interesting additions. I had the desertcomber, which was sort of like an old-fashioned, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I saw other reviews stating that the drinks sucked. I can't speak for the other ones, but I thought the one I had was very good. The food menu is more-or-less what you would expect, but if you're expecting a Kon-Tiki-style, full-fledged menu with appetizers AND lunch and dinner entrees, you might be disappointed. Cabali has a limited menu of Polynesian-style finger foods and appetizers. I had the Spam sliders, and they were absolutely incredible. It consisted of Spam, cole slaw, and pineapple, in Hawaiian buns. I had never had Spam, so this was a great first for me. Bartenders and servers were really attentive, and I thought they did a good job with drinks. Where I feel this place struggles is with price. I got one drink, and one thing from the kitchen, and the bill was well over $30 before tax and tip. I think that's a bit excessive. When I inquired about the tiki mugs for sale, they were willing to sell me one for $130+!! I love tiki mugs, but I'm sure I could pick one up on eBay, or from Bali Hai on my next trip to San Diego for much less. Try Cabali! So excited to have a new tiki bar in my hometown. They did a good job designing the small bar that allows for three large seating areas tucked into the corners if you are bringing a group. I've been to "tiki bars" that play loud and modern music which ruins the atmosphere, but this place had soft tiki music in the background. From floor to ceiling the decor and design was well done. We had a large group so we tried several different drinks. We got the Zombie bowl which had a nice kick to it, but was very absinthe forward. I requested to get the most sour beverage they had which was the Fog Cutter. I thought the drink was good and my group had several of the other drinks and liked them as well. I'm not going to say they were fantastic, because I do hope the owners work on their bar menu a bit, but none of these drinks were terrible like people have commented in previous reviews. This is a new bar that has some kinks to work out with their menu, but I am excited we finally have an adorably decorated clean tiki bar in Tucson. I met a new acquaintance here yesterday for after-dinner drinks. We shared an order of veggie spring rolls ($8) and we each ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail ($10 each). It's almost impossible to find the entrance, but a guy out front escorted me in. It's very dark inside, and there are hundreds of tiki mugs on display throughout the bar, which is adjacent to The Landing restaurant. Service was good and we enjoyed the spring rolls. The drinks were overpriced, and mine, called Sandy Cheeks, was mostly ice. Her drink, Shoreline Spritz, at least had some liquid in it. Since I don't drink alcohol, I probably won't be back, but it is a cute and unique place. It was crowded. read more

I went to Cabali on a Friday night and it was definitely packed but we fortunately were able to secure a good spot. The atmosphere was wonderful and the decorations and details were top notch. Everything would have been perfect if it wasn't for our server who was also the bartender. When we first sat down at the table the server Kelly rolled his eyes at us for sitting down. From the moment he started taking care of us he was very dry and made us feel like we were a bother for him. I am very understanding with servers and fully understand how stressful a busy Friday night is, however he completely ruined our night. It was very unfortunate because we were extremely excited to try this place out for the first time. Whenever we tried to order something else he would respond with "what do you want." We asked another server if we could order from the Landing and she was letting us know we could order food from their menu and brought us over menus (everyone else who helped us was very lovely and helpful). When we tried to order something from that menu his response was "i don't know what that is but I'll figure it out" in a very condescending manner. It was the only grilled fish on the menu and the person ordering was gluten intolerant so it was very important for her to receive the correct order. We tried showing him the item on the menu to make sure he understood to make it easier for him but he could have cared less. It felt very awkward and it made us not even want to continue ordering anything else to the point where we had to leave. What started as a fun Friday night with friends ended in a time cut short because of the poor service. I would love to give this place another try if we had a different server. read more

It's speakeasy style, with a nondescript entrance door. The bar dominates the space with alcove seating in the 4 corners. It's an intimate space maybe seating 3 dozen at the most. Decorated in a Moana meets Captain Nemo vibe. The tiki mugs on display are part of the owners personal collection. Interesting and unique. We sat at the bar. Limited tiki drink menu with full bar for "regular" drinks with beer and wine available. I had the Tandoori Express" Smoky and savory. My dining partner had a Painkiller. As good as any Painkiller she's had in the past. We shared veggie springs rolls. She got the Coco Nido wings and I got the Spam Sliders. All the food was tasty and well prepared. The staff while busy, was attentive and took the time to explain the menus and answer questions. We'll need to return and sample the rest of the food and drink menu. All bad reviews aside, this place was awesome IMO. I got the Tandoori Express, a drink that had a slight spice of Curry with Tumeric and Cinnamon. Was told it tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and it does!! Hubby got The Painkiller which was also awesome, had Orangeat flavor, very fresh and tasty. The Ambience is remarkable with the Tiki designs/mugs. And the staff was knowledgeable beyond our expectations. Will definitely hunt for the entrance again and be back! read more

LOVED the Cabali speakeasy bar. My husband and I went on a Saturday night, after eating at The Landing. Our server directed us on where to find the bar and offered to walk us over, but we found the bar easily. I loved the "hidden" door handle, which looked like twigs. From the moment you open the door, you are immediately transported to a tropical speakeasy. There is so much to take in, while the space is small, there are lots of seating areas at the bar, in corner pockets, as well as an underwater bunker room. The bar is tastefully decorated, with tiki mugs, tiki heads, and lighting fixtures which compliment the tiki theme while still maintaining the speakeasy vibe. Loved just walking around the bar and admiring all of the meticulously selected items that make this bar so unique and fun. Aside from the amazing environment, we had amazing service as well. Upon entering we were immediately welcomed by CJ the bartender who talked about the drinks and helped us both select the best drink based on our preferences. I had the tandoori express and my husband had the desertcomber. Both drinks were very unique and we both loved the presentation and how yummy they were. We didn't order food, but we will definitely be back and will order food the next time. As we were leaving, the bar owner checked in with us and gave us some fun facts about the bar.
