    Entrance to the bar

Ambiance is beyond incredible- like you stepped out of downtown to a quaint little village, there was live music and curated cocktails. Very warm and inviting. The restaurant was closed for the night so we ordered some small apps at the walk up cafe - wonderful for a nightcap. Would loved to have gone back and tried the restaurant as the aromas coming from it were amazing.

Finally got to try out Nightjar/ (Mayer Ave cafe/The Coronet?) ?? [ Glad I was adamant about trying this place, because their hours posted on Google said it was closed (perhaps with different names/changes?) ... I gave em call and found they were open!!! Whoohoo!] With the very convenient parking lot outback, but not so convenient signs as to where to enter, or that there was more then one entrance, we found our way through the front.. Upon walking in, you're immediately met with a beautiful, quiet courtyard, that leads down various paths, one of which leads to the café. Inside you can find the cafe counter, as well as various gifts, treats, and goodies of all sorts, as well as a friendly great from the baristas behind the counter. The daytime menu, (8-2), is a unique, yet simple variety of food, that is appealing yet also not your standardized breakfast brunch food by any means... from granola at $13, to a more sophisticated Barrio Gravelax bagel w/ side salad at $18 - this is by far one of the more intriguing places in town for the daytime options, with a price to match. I tried what felt like a familiar, yet interesting enough southern bowl, which consisted of two fried eggs, black beans, spuds (potatoes), with warm green chili & cilantro lime crema at $15, with the option of adding Dragoon session sausage at $8, or bacon for $6 dollars more, (which I opted out of to not burn a hole in my pocket before noon). My mother splurged a bit and got the Gravelax bagel w/ side salad at $18. We also picked out two café drinks, a café Americano (hot), and an iced mocha, which came out as hot, but eventually got the right one (iced).. all very tasty!! Both dishes, we agreed, were very well prepared and plated beautifully.. mine caught me off guard a slight bit, when I realized I never specified over-easy eggs, which ultimately was a little much to stomach, but very much appreciated the presentation. My mother expressed her enjoyment of the unique nature of the Gravelax bagel w/ side salad, but unfortunately, we both felt it was a little more money then was reasonable for what it ultimately was.. which essentially, is just a bagel with fish and a small small side... perhaps because it had fish? and a small portion of salad? I guess that it validates the price.. but, felt because of the many vast breakfast/lunch spots in town to choose from at a more reasonable price, ultimately felt a bit of a stretch, especially for my wallet and for dropping big bucks all before noon. Our café experience was definitely the highlight of our experience! Very well the best coffees we've had in a while, and why I left with at least some satisfaction.. This place has so much to offer in atmosphere, quality of service, and delicious drinks, so I hope to see more diversity when it comes to menus and price points to suit all walks of life that could really appreciate this beautiful place, and really benefit this business and amplify its potential. :) Perhaps I'll come with guests for an fancy evening at (Nightjar? Coronet?), where I can justify a more pricy, sophisticated option.

    Left, sazarac; right, butlers consort!

This was such a lovely accidental find after a hockey game around the corner at TCC arena. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, more than happy to discuss what might most tickle your fancy that given evening. The room when you initially walk in is a bit cramped for my liking, but the door area definitely offers the best ambience IMHO- it was chilly, but they have very powerful heaters by each table to keep you snug as a bug in a rug. I had the butler's consort, a lovely, citrus-y gin drink that was perfectly balanced. My partner enjoyed their sazarac so much he has been ordering them everywhere we've been since- he's on a kick. Overall, 10/10 spot for late night drinks to round out your night with a well-made cocktail.

I have been wanting to go to Nightjar for awhile. Last night was date night with my wife and we took the opportunity. I love walking up to the door and seeing the candles. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who gave us multiple options to seat ourselves (they have both indoor and outdoor seating). I like to have poutine once a year and Nightjar's version was just ok compared to having it in Quebec or Ottawa. My poutine was delivered without the rabbit that I ordered and when it came out my wife was halfway done with her meal which was a little disappointing. As a former waiter, I am a big believer in writing things down to mitigate mistakes. The way the rabbit was prepared was with chicken stock and as such it tasted like chicken. I don't understand the point of having rabbit if it does not taste like rabbit. The protein itself was very high quality. There was also sparse gravy and as you can see from the picture, the fries absorbed a lot of it. The fries themselves were made from scratch (as they should be) and were very good in terms of form, texture, and taste. There is no shortage of great restaurants around us, and I applaud them for having different dishes. I think the chefs will improve over time, but for now, I am good with not having this dish for another one-to-two years. I'm still glad that I ordered it. The ambiance with the charm and character that Nightjar offers is hard to beat. I really believe that Nightjar has so much potential to improve and with some adjustments, it could become one of the very best restaurants in Tucson and the surrounding area. Perhaps rotating the menu once or twice a month is part of the solution. I look forward to coming back perhaps at the end of summer or early fall.

Late night happy hour 9-close was my favorite part about this place. They had $6 dollar house wines a red and a white and they were both delicious. We also got to try some of their more fancy drinks. If you like a refreshing sparking drink you got to get the fearie water, and if you need a little caffeine to keep up with your group you got to try the Valvet Saddle! The staff here AMAZING! They go above and beyond to ask you if you have any questions or walk you through the menu. We just felt so welcome by bartenders they were amazing, and because of them we will be BACK! Thank you for the amazing service. Ohhh and the late night cafe burger was AMAZING!

We ate at the Coronet and stopped here for a night cap. It is the same owner and connected by a cute courtyard. The ambiance is great, with small tables and table lights. The bartender was very helpful in explaining each cocktail. The food menu is very similar to the Coronet. My husband tried their version of espresso martini which is done Roth cold brew - not too sweet and the flavor was just right! I had a gin based drink which was very well balanced.

These drinks are innovative, thoughtful, and aesthetically pleasing in a way that leaves you excited for more and expands one's idea of a well-made libation. Inspired by a medley of global flavors, Juniper started off as a side project from a local brewery and unexpectedly exploded into a swanky hangout with zero seats left open on weekend nights. Yes, virtually everything on the menu is gin-based. But that shouldn't scare you away! Gin is essentially a neutral spirit infused with botanicals and/or citrus, so if you had a bad experience with one brand, there will be another out there you'll fall in love with. Elliott, the General Manager of the bar, elevates the passionate curation of his menu to perfection. Here are some examples of what you might fall in love with: Balzy Maracuya: A 'maracuya' is a passion fruit beverage originating from South America. In this drink, fruity flavors are enhanced with popping boba filled with balsamic vinegar. Botanist: Upscale gin and tonic with thyme, rosemary, and star anise. Cronus Punch: Rum punch lovers will be blown away by the rare sighting of clarified gin On special ocassions, you'll find limited edition items like gin sorbet affogatos and horchata martinis. At the turn of each new year, there's a menu rotation that may sadly remove some of my faves. But here, at Juniper I can guarantee two things: Something uniquely enjoyable, and a gracious staff that will be happy to explain the intricacies of lesser-known spirits on the shelf. In 2026, I predict it will remain one of Tucson's hottest cocktail hangouts.

It's a fun and also elegant atmosphere with the zebra theme clearly exemplified across the space. I would have to say this is one of the coziest bars I've been to, the furniture and seating is really supportive of a long-term visit. There are other levels, lower and an upper level besides the main space, but be aware that if there are parties, they can typically take up different areas. Our bartender, Sarah was fantastic! The way that she handled all of the guests and the busy field was incredible, so calm and collected, and furthermore making some really incredible drinks. Heads up that the online drink menu is not the current drink menu, I couldn't remember all the names of our drinks and put those in the photo captions, so when I checked on the website, the menu was showing something different other than what I saw at the bar. Out of several places I've been to, I'd say the mixture of flavors and details in the drinks are quite unique. I'll be back for more one day

Mine even came in a zebra mug. We also learned that this bar has both an upstairs and downstairs area. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and headed home. This place left such an impression that we have been back two times since. On another occasion we had Nate the bartender.
