You can do just as much and more, for less, at Academy and Bass Pro. Pros: almost all customers have a full set of teeth. Clean, good parking. Cons: way, way overpriced. There is nothing unique except that until the store opened, you couldn't pay more then you did at bass pro. Customer service was almost nonexistent in fact if one waited long enough my guess is that customers would've started asking me for help. You can buy the majority of this merchandise at Academy and/or bass pro of the same or equal quality for less considerably less. Gun prices were in the stratosphere and that's just speaking about the used . I was afraid to go look at new but couldn't help myself. After looking at new gun prices I realized I had found an all-time high gun price in Atlanta. If you want to pay the absolute most that you can possibly pay for typical brand names that you know everywhere, this is your place. Anything higher and you would need a loan. While the place is clean inventory is spotty and there was no apparent help the matter who you asked. My guess is that the stores so new they just have not found the right help to work there at this time. There's no real wow factor in fact bass pro has more of a wow factor than this Cabela's not sure if this is indicative of other Cabela's but this one wasn't that overwhelming in fact it was underwhelming. Save yourself some time and wait for the new bass pro opening in the same area in the near future or, simply make the voyage over to Lawrenceville. There's more inventory, better AND more help, more selection and ian easier process all the way around. If you love Cabela's just stick to their online process there's more there and you'll get more help online working through their app than you ever will within the store good luck read more

I have been in a lot of cabelas, and they usually are a very good shopping experience. I have been in this one three times, and it is pretty sad. Employees seem beat down pretty badly, and they seem to have a large turnover, as when you ask if someone you dealt with the week before is available, you are told they are no longer there. Quite a bit of grumbling under their breath about hateful acting management is what you get when you press for more info. Maybe they have gotten too big for their britches? Was in a scheels store out west, can not wait until they push further east. read more

Very good looking store and fully staffed. I was there for 30 minutes looking at boots and i was not even acknowledged by any of their staff, passed by several of them and i was fully ignored. Shopped here before in the past and there very few friendly faces. I left without making a purchase. Visited Horsetown instead. Will not recommend this store. read more

I have been a major Cabelas customer since the '80's puchasing 10s of thousands of dollars worth of their products. Although this story seems unbelievable it is true & they have lost me as a customer. Yesterday I called the store 3 different times & followed their prompts to reach customer service each time. I let the phone ring for over 4 minutes each time w no answer. On the fourth attempt a young lady picked up & transferred my call to the archery dept where I let the phone rang for 5 minutes exactly (timer on my phone) before I hung up. I then called the store a 5th time & again went thru prompts & waited for customer service to answer for another 5 min (verified by timer on my phone) before I hung up. Waited a few minutes & called again where a cutomer service representative answered after about 2 min & I asked to speak to the manager. The young lady asked in what regards? I told her what I had been through & she told me I didnt need to talk to a manager but that she would get the archery deoartment on the ohone for me herself. Then she came back on the line & told me there was only one person handling numerous departments including archery & if I wanted to leave my number she would have them call me back. I told her that my closest Cabelas in Ft Oglethorpe GA was sold out of 150 grain field tips but their system showed one pack at the Achworth GA store & I wanted to check stock & if available I would pickup tomorrow. She informed me that they could not sell to me over the phone & they would not hold them overnight. I asked her to have the archery dept call me back anyway & I still havent heard from them 24 hrs later. Seems to me they need to hire more staff & that lies directly on management. Good bye Cabekas! Terrible experience. If you want to buy a gun, do it anywhere BUT here. Waited around the guns for 15 minutes to get help and the help received was pitiful. The guy was very condescending and made me feel like I wasn't worth his time. I ended up not buying a gun at Cabelas due to their poor service and lack of advice. Also, many of the deals sent to us in the paper were either out of stock or hard to find. We asked 5 employees about some of the deals and they could not figure it out either. I would advise others to shop anywhere else but here. I hope this helps! read more

Furthering Nick C.'s review, Cabelas STILL is not prepared. On Saturday, 8/30, the web-site store hours said Sunday, 9-am opening. I drove a fair distance to be in the door at exactly 9-am on Sunday, 8/31. A great many others were also there, waiting to go-in. We met some who drove down from Chattanooga and up from Valdosta, specifically to be at Cabelas at 9-am, per the web-site, and, from what others had read and seen as we did. Guess what? The door at Cabelas said 10-am, not 9-am. Frantic, we asked several employees who stated that was wrong and it s/b 9-am. Feeling relieved, we waited 10-more minutes. At 9:10-am and no doors open, we found an employee by the name of Josh. Josh informed a bunch of us the web-site was wrong and the time was 10-am. WTF Cabelas! You've got people who've driven from some long distances and you screw-up! You don't even open the doors to allow those people in due to your mistake! Bad business. Many business' usually fess-up and would serve the customer when said business makes a mistake. Guess Cabelas is NOT a company of integrity, reputational concern, nor, care about financial impacts. Needless to say, when we left, only about 4-people remained at this so-called Outfitters store. Felt sorry for they, as well as many of us, wasted our time thinking we finally had a outfitting company on the other side of the State. Soooo, Dicks Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, heck, even Walmart, will continue to get my outfitting business, besides Amazon. Cabelas has continued to show they are UNPREPARED and unwilling to accept responsibility to mistakes they make. BTW, kinda funny that I go onto the Cabelas site just before writing this slam and see the hours are different from my printout. They now say 10-am whereas my Cabelas Acworth store hours printout has 9-am for Sunday. Way to go Cabelas. Continue the great operational edicts. And, really hope a Bass Pro shop, even a Ganders or Ramsey Outdoor, gets built nearby, 'cuz Cabelas, you've lost quite a few customers from today's screw-up, and, lack of taking responsibility. read more

The only good thing about this store is what they have. I ordered a gun on Monday that was in stock and had it to ship to the store in Acworth since I knew I would be there that weekend, even though I live in Charleston. Says that it will be in store in 5-8 business days. I looked back online and it said it would not be at the store for another two weeks. I go into the store just to see if they may have any in stock. After taking a number and waiting a while I finally got one of the guys at the gun counter to help me. I asked him if they had any in stock and he asked me if I ordered it from the store. I told him no that I ordered it online and he just started to badger me and talk down on me as if I was some sort of idiot. Apparently if they order it online they wave the shipping and handling which for me was $150. I don't get why they would not wave it anyways since I have to go pick it up in the store regardless. Anyways I kindly informed him that I do not live there anymore and that I lived in Charleston. He then badgered me on why I would come all the way to acworth to pick up a gun and I told him I was from there and due to Hurricane Mathew I was forced to evacuate my home. He should have known that if simply turning on any tv or radio because that is all they are talking about. Then he continued to badger me about why I would move to Charleston like he had gotten dumped by his first love there and had a vendetta against the city or something. Easily the most frustrating person I have ever had to deal with and really wish I had gotten his name to write a complaint. But after that I knew I would not be in town for when my gun truly gets here because they don't ship on the weekends. So I contacted cabelas to try to change my shipping address so it would be sent to Greenville which is a bit closer and I frequently visit because unlike acworth I have never had trouble at that store. I was then informed that since my purchase was processed that they can't change it. Makes no sense to me that if its not shipped yet why can't they just change which store it goes to. The person said they only have 4 hours after you submit your per chase to change the shipping location. I have always been a big fan of Cabelas even though they are over priced but after this treatment and disregard of the customer it has complete killed it for me. I hope it is just this location and I hear that bass pro is buying them out so maybe they can whip them into shape. I don't even write reviews but this has me steaming. If you are in the greater Atlanta area just take your business to Adventure Outdoors off of South Cobb Drive. Really cool place, better guns, better service and they simply know more of what they are doing. read more

Great place, definitely friendly staff, and they have a bit of a better general selection than Bass Pro Shops in my opinion, especially with firearms. My only issue with firearms at Cabela's is their gun library, which is where their used guns are. They have an awesome selection of used guns, however they're pretty bad when it comes to pricing them. They're a little to optimistic for the most part. But other than that, I love this place! read more

I called asking for someone in trolling motors to see if Cabelas had a unit in stock I wanted. After going thru the operator she put me through to the proper department. No one picked so the operator said they must be helping other customers and could she take my phone number and have an associate call me back. Well it's been over 24 hours with no call back. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!!!!!! I recently visited this store between 2:00-3:00 on a sunny Saturday. My truck was parked in the center isle and was broken into and all my clothes and two pistols were stolen. This store did nothing at all to try to help. I contacted the local police and filed a report but since the exterior camera system at Cabela's is so poor it did not help the police at all. "Joey", who I was told was in charge of theft prevention at this store, I think, explained to me I could not look at the cameras, it would have to all go through a request from the local police. I don't understand this..... The local detective assigned to my case informed me that they investigated but since the camera's were so cheap they could not get any decent information off of them. "Joey" tells me they did not contact him.....so somebody is not being truthful. I was also informed by the police that this was an ongoing problem at this Cabela's. Strange how I was informed that inside Cabela's has a state of the art system but outside it is very weak. I tried to contact corporate about the issue but they bounced me back to "Joey". The main answer I kept getting was they were not responsible for items in your vehicle in the parking lot. Well my thing is if it is an ongoing problem and IF they cared about their customers then they would have some kind of decent exterior camera system or someone to monitor the parking lot. I been a customer for 30 years and been a Club Visa Card member since 1999, but none of this matters! read more

The people working this store are good natured and helpful. Great location, right against the I-75. Probably not the nicest Cabela's I have been in, it is absolutely new. But it was the people who got this store up to three stars. First of all, this warehouse sized store has two men's toilets and three urinals. How is that good?! Employees were crowding customers to use the restroom. How are you a multi-million corporation and yet you can afford two toilets? I would have rather seen less automatic flushing systems that always seem to spray water on you, and more stalls for toilets. Terrible mens belt selection, absolutely pitiful archery selection. You know what B50 Dacron is? Fast flight? Because apparently Cabela's doesn't. And I would prefer a better selection of serving string, I am not going to shell out $30 for beefed up fishing line. My wife and I eventually bought 300 dollars of merchandise and would again. The gun counter was heavily stocked with employees which is amazing compared to other stores that I have been to. All in all I will go back, but I will make sure I don't need any ammenities. read more
