I didn't think it was worth the effort. No parking. Very Small. Hard to find. Basically just a little hole in the wall set on a private Christian retreat center. Kind of got the impression they don't really want anyone who's not a guest of the retreat center as customers. Also they have very arbitrary hours and days of operation.

Came for the views, stayed for the caffeine. A perfect hole-in-the-wall-style coffee shop that requires some work to get to. I was the first customer at 2pm on Labor Day and had a lovely chat with the barista as well as some tasty chai. I also took a sip of my partner's iced coffee and equally as tasty. My new favorite spot I hope to come back for years to come. Details of location: Within the Zephyr Point Conference Center property. Limited parking on-site; I was told to park at the top of the hill and walk over. You will need to climb ~30 stairs to access building. It's recommended to access the area via Hwy 50 from South to make a right-hand turn (much safer!). Outdoor patio heated - good opportunity for a beer/wine/mocktail hangout in future. Accepts credit card.

Usually only 1 worker. Small but cute menu. Not a lot of seating inside the shop but there was good views outside the cabin.

As of the writing of this review, Google thinks Cabin 28 is closed. The rumors of its closure are greatly exaggerated and we should all count our blessings. This is a diamond in the rough, a jewel in the Nile, a needle in a haystack, pick your metaphor. Cabin 28 Coffee is a wee bit off the trail, but so very worth it. Cabin 28 is located on the grounds of Zephyr Point Conference Center, but don't let the location deter you. There is parking and seating a-plenty, so, unless you hate good coffee, warm cinnamon rolls, fresh mountain air, and a delightful partial view of the lake, you should definitely stop by. When you get there take a moment to notice the building itself. It is a converted cabin and with some very cool markings from the previous owners. Past generations signed parts of the walls, there are some sweet pictures and some other things that will help you get a feel for the history of Zephry Point. I grew up coming here as a child and it was NOT this fancy :-) but it is all so much more suited for folks to come by for a morning or a weekend and simply inhale the setting. Cabin 28 makes it that much more special.

    Cutest little shop!

Super rude workers! I'm never coming back again. Coffee was alright, nothing special. My family and I felt very unwelcome.

Where do you park? If you're staying in a cabin near by, but for the rest of us we can't get there.

Stopping into Clyde's transports you to a cozy winter lodge, yet still offers a beautiful deck space for the warm Tahoe days. The staff was very kind, answering any questions we had, and drinks were served up quickly. The pastries here looked absolutely insane! It took everything I had to pass up on them- but next time, I have already decided I am getting the apple streusel. The drinks are a bit pricey here, but the portions are large. Most iced/blended drinks are around $7.50, but they are 16-oz servings. The Green Monkey (blended matcha, almond milk, and banana) was so creamy and sweet, and delicious. The smoothies are soft serve-based and offer a perfect sweetness level while still being fresh from the fruit and creamy like a milkshake. I also enjoyed a double shot to sample their espresso game- very tasty stuff. They have lots of merch for sale, including their coffee varieties, which I thought were priced well. I will be back to Clyde's Coffee Roasting. It may even be my new favorite South Lake Tahoe coffee house, even if it means I have to drive out of the way a few minutes. Absolutely love this little gem in South Lake Tahoe!…read more Stumbled upon The Free Bird (aka Free Bird Chai) on a snowy day in Tahoe, and it was exactly the cozy, healthy spot I needed. This adorable green cabin-like cafe with the "Goodness on the Fly" vibe is packed with charm--wooden interiors, string lights, and the friendliest staff behind a shiny espresso machine. I grabbed two superfood smoothies: a thick, vibrant purple acai-based one (probably the Acai or Goddess--loaded with berries and superfoods) and a rich chocolatey Cacao Bliss. Both were incredibly flavorful, not too sweet, and packed with organic ingredients like spirulina, hemp, and goji. Perfect post-ski fuel! The menu has tons of options--simple fruit smoothies, green machines, power greens, plus homemade chais (I've heard the dirty chai is legendary) and wellness lattes with mushrooms or adaptogens. It's tiny, so grab-and-go is the way, but everything feels fresh and thoughtfully made. Prices are fair for the quality in Tahoe. If you're craving organic, nourishing drinks and bites (bagels, pastries, bowls), this is a must-stop. Already planning my next visit--highly recommend!

I love a good açaí bowl but I needed something that didn't require a spoon lol So I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and one of their seasonal drinks, a 12oz iced strawberry shortcake latte with soy milk. I have to say; I thought my drink was good and the bagel itself was nice and crispy. Service- the lady that took my order was nice. The one thing I can say because it's a small little shop, it can feel a little overwhelming with the amount of people, and trying to see what's on the menu. Other than that, it's a solid small cafe shop.

This place is tucked away maybe a minute from Highway 50 on Kingsbury grade. They have a plethora of breakfast and veggies options, with a good selection of bagels. They have matcha, seasonal latte options, different cream cheese flavors, and a decent selection of juice, sodas, and tea. I came in HUNGRY and tried the Goombah sando with added turkey. It was crispy, delicious, and HOT. Oh my. Basically, a glorified caprese salad on a bagel. It was oily, messy, and wonderful. I got help ordering from Shannon, and she was a great help! The seating area is a tad limited for the lunch time rush I was here for. They have a couple couches in the middle that are nice and cozy, and a mix of tables that can fit 2 up to 6 people. It seems to have a good flow, but I wonder if there's a different or better way to accommodate more people to dine in. It seemed like most to half the people that came in got their orders to go, and had there been room to accommodate them, if they would have stayed. Overall, a friendly and high energy place that makes bomb bagel sandos. I wish this was closer to my stomping grounds in Reno, so it makes a special trip worth it to the Tahoe Bagel Co!

Our other two drinks were serviceable, but nothing stood out as reasons to visit again. The interior was cute with counter seating and some smaller tables by the windows, which looked out to the street and let in a lot on natural light.
