This was a hidden gem! We decided to stop in before a play we were seeing in the area. Food was getting good reviews so decided to try it out. It was fabulous! The elote wings were so incredibly good and the brisket tacos had some of the best barbecued brisket I've found anywhere in the Midwest. It's got a dive bar feel, pull tabs, sports on TV and a prominent bar in the center. Love this place!!! Is such a hidden gem tucked in WBL behind Hwy 61. If you haven't been here, you need to check it out! Every time I've order food, I have been very impressed and really enjoy the Peanut Butter burger. Along with 7 friends, I was at Cabin 61 on 5/15 to celebrate my birthday. Had no problem having drinks while we waited 45 minutes by the bar. Once we we seated, our server came to the table and was unnecessarily surly and rude. It was actually uncomfortable. No one dared to ask a question about the menu. May have been an off night for her, but it made for a really unpleasant night. The food was great, the drinks were good, but the service was the worst I've ever had. I doubt I'll go back. read more

We chose Cabin 61 for one main reason - they have gluten free hamburger buns (for my husband). It was not too busy on a Saturday afternoon/early evening and there were even some families there. We got the cheese curds appetizer which was delicious. The shrimp tacos were delectable! My husband enjoyed his burger and fries. It was a somewhat dim atmosphere with TVs playing sports/Olympics. The bartender makes a great Cosmopolitan. You can sit inside at the bar, tables, or outside on their expansive deck. Service is timely and always with a good attitude. Wow! I've found a new place to be on Tuesday evenings in the summer! A great patio setting and live music outside! Two of my favorite things! Combine that with tasty pub food and friendly service, how can you go wrong?! The drinks were strong (and tasty). The fish was hot, tender, flaky and fresh tasting (it hadn't been sitting in a warmer basket). Comes with the Parmesan fries which are thick and crispy! I had the BLT that had pork belly on it. Oh. My. God. So good! A few people in our group had the chicken wild rice soup and it got mixed reviews. One loved it because it was t too starchy; the other prefers it thicker. The gouda burger was delicious, juicy, and flavorful a 10/10. The brisket melt was also tasty. We did ask for some extra bbq sauce, and that was perfect. The parmesan tots are worth going back for on their own! Beverage selections are good and decently priced. We, however, were disappointed in the grilled peach cheesecake. It sounded so good, and we wanted to love it, but the peaches were hard and cold and almost flavorless, like they had been partially cooked but not finished, instead of warm grilled, sweet, soft peaches. Unfortunately, it was kind of just a bland dessert 3/10. Overall, it was still a great meal, and the patio was wonderful. We will be back! read more

Solid first experience. Happy hour with a colleague who lives in the Lindstrom area, and I was coming from Minneapolis, so equidistant for each of us. Beer selection could use some attention, but perhaps it isn't a craft beer crowd? Had two appetizers - corn dip and cheese curds. The corn dip was excellent, came with house-made chips. The curds were average, the dipping jam was pretty tasty but I'd skip those. Service was friendly and always there when we needed something. Overall a positive experience. read more

With some great creative twists on burgers and sandwiches to choose from, we don't get bored with the menu! Try the JUST TOO GOUDA TO BE TRUE BURGER. The apple-onion jam offset the rich smokiness of the gouda. Cabin 61 has a fun selection of local brews to choose from, as well as a full bar and some decent wines. I've heard great things about their Bloody Mary, so that might be included on our next trip! While we have not dined on the patio yet, we're looking forward to that on our next trip! read more

All of their food is really good but the burgers are what you'll want to come back for. The Moscow Mule with cucumber vodka is so refreshing. All of their salads with added chicken are really light and a great lunchtime meal. Their elote wings are unique and very tasty. Good selection of domestic and craft beers, the crowd is always lively and made up of all ages and backgrounds. The decor is a touch of Up North cabin chic along with White Bear historical adornments. May have to wait for a seat at times as it is always busy but you can just chill and have a cocktail while you wait in the covered hallway just outside the restaurant. Came here for a happy hour yesterday with some girlfriends, although they didn't have any happy hour menus or specials it was still a great time! Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest but have heard it's beautiful in the summer where you can sit on the patio enjoy some drinks. They had some really incredible wings that were super fresh and delicious, we also ordered d the Elote dip that was an interesting take on the elote corn. Super chunky, full of flavor, and to my delight tasted very tasty on a chip! The bar itself is quite small so it can get a bit loud at times but the staff are great, very attentive, and food comes out fast. read more

This is like going to the North Shore in your own back yard. We were able to get a roomy, round table for 2 away from the door on a bitter cold day. Around 4 the place was pretty full. On Friday we wanted the fish fry. Two nice fat pieces of fish, I could only eat one with a few of the parmesean fries. The slaw needed something so I added my tartar sauce and it was just right. A nice cup of wild rice soup was loaded with chicken. They give you a huge glass of icy cold water. Basil enjoyed an ale. I look forward to the patio in the summer. read more
