I absolutely love this place! My cousin Dan always takes me to a unique spot when I'm visiting from California. As for ambiance this is a dive bar however they have a huge outdoor patio with a stage and picnic tables and bands on Tuesday I think? Next, I get to the menu. Very unique, creative and hard to choose from. I decided I had to go with the peanut butter hamburger because I love peanut butter. I didn't know what to expect but it was really delicious. Just a few bites you would taste peanut butter, and the Lingon berry was a little spicy , very light but flavorful I would order it again. The food was flying out of the kitchen. They are very, very busy and on a Monday evening were packed at 6 o'clock. The service was excellent. This is a very well run establishment, with a fun inventive menu and a reasonable budget. We also got the corn appetizer with homemade chips. It was delicious. You can tell the chips are made there. Also, the potato chips with the burger were excellent. Hashbrowns super good. Did not try the fries. One party got a BLT and said it was just OK. Another had the mushroom Swiss burger and loved it and ate every bite. Okay we can start out by saying this place is so far out that I no longer had a radio signal. That said, great Bloody Mary, if you enjoy horseradish , and I do! They have a fairly decent beer selection for WBL, however they were out if a few selections. Now for the food: we had cheese curds which were good, but too salty. We tried the biscuits and gravy, which was good! Eggs perfectly poached, delicious gravy and biscuits, crispy potatoes. I liked! The brisket Mac and cheese was not good. If you ever want to enjoy watching a good sports game while eating a juicy delicious burger, this is the place to be! It's a cozy little sports bar and grill. It's slightly crowded but that's only due to how many people are there! I got the Campfire burger which consist of a 7oz angus beef, peanut butter, smoked Gouda, bacon, spicy lingonberry jam and honey brioche bun. With a side of chips or fries. I thought it was a little strange to have peanut better in a burger but it worked so well together. The honey brioche bun was to die for! Their Ellsworth Cheese Curds were perfectly cooked. It wasn't too over done and the cheese, ugh the cheese was perfect! I felt like I was pulling the cheese curds apart for days! Their servers were very nice and even gave me their opinions on their favorite burgers since I was unsure what to order. The serves were fantastic about filling up your water without you even having to say anything. They're constantly asking if everything was ok, which I loved! It made me and my fiancé feel like they were really trying to cater for us along with the other customers. I've only been here once but they'll see me more often. A few of us girls met for lunch at Cabin 61. Today was our 2nd time eating there. We have had their Fish & Chips, Cabin Cobb Salad and the Brisket Melt. Everyone really enjoyed their food. The flavor of the food was great, it was served hot and it was top notch! We had a Tap Beer, White Claw and a Violet Beauregard. We had Angie as our server the first time and she was great, and so was the food which is why we came back a 2nd time. This time we had Jaye as our server, and the same thing, great service and great food! Today we sat outside on their patio, which is so relaxing by the lake. We had both Carrie and David for bartenders and both were fun! I definitely recommend you giving this place a try if you have never been there. read more

We waited a LONG time to get in here, literally on the verge of walking out when she came and said we could go to a table with 5 out of the 6 seats we needed. There was another group there finished just talking for 20 minutes or more. The hostess was doing the best she could and I really think she wasn't sure what to do. Once this group realized there were people waiting they happily gave up the spot. The menu here is limited. We ordered the special which was the tater tot hotdish, this was actually quite good. We also ordered 5 burgers, one a kids burger. The waiter was excellent and super informative and attentive. The burgers were just okay as were the cheese curds. It seems that this place is a local favorite. Maybe if we didn't wait over an hour to get in I would have felt better about our experience. I recommend to use the Yelp feature to add yourself to the waitlist and honestly to not come here if you have a group over 4. There is 2 places where groups that large can sit and if someone is there just talking you will wait all night. This may be a different story if the outside seating area is open, I'm not sure. But if it's cooler weather and you have a large group I don't recommend coming here at a popular time. read more

These guys are pretty good! Met some friends here for happy hour and dinner. I ordered the cabin punch which definitely had some punch! Mixed good and strong. Decent bar menu with plenty of choices. I ended up ordering the chicken club sandwich with parmesan tots. All in all, the food was pretty good (although not extraordinary). My friend ordered the bacon bourbon ice cream and let me eat some. I loved the combo of salty bacon on top of yummy izzy's icecream. I would order that again for sure. I think next time I would like to try a burger. The tots were awesome. Lots of parking. Our waiter was great. He came back plenty of times and was super friendly. The music was kind of loud but after a while became white noise to me. Plenty of seating and we could choose wherever we wanted to sit. What really blew me away was how quickly the food came out. It had to be less than 10 minutes. Dropped in for the first time. Nice back patio on a pond. It was hot so we stayed inside. The social distancing was acceptable. Tried a few appetizers. The homemade chips with dill dip. The dip was tasty and the chips were good. The menu indicated that they were salt and malt vinegar chips. I tasted no malt vinegar? We also had the truffle deviled eggs, which we enjoyed. We stopped into Cabin 61 on a Monday night for dinner with some friends. We got there right at the end of happy hour and it was dead (it was snowing in April so that may have had something to do with it). As the night went on it started to get a bit busier in spite of the less than ideal conditions. The menu is fairly small but has a pretty wide variety of dishes. Happy hour was not very impressive with just $1 off drinks and no food specials. We tried the steak bites appetizer, which was delicious. They were cooked perfectly, very tender, and well seasoned. We also had a burger that was pretty good but not overly memorable. The star of the show were the Parmesan tater tots. We ordered them with the burger and ordered another side of them immediately after tasting them. Very addicting. Overall, I think it was pretty good. We'll be back at some point as it's nice to have variety in White Bear, but I'm not dying to go back tomorrow. read more

Went there about 6 on a Friday night to meet some friends for dinner. Great place and ambiance - kind of like being up north but not driving very far. It is small in there but we had no trouble with the noise / had a high top table near the bar and the entrance. Everyone said their food was great. Will definitely be back. If it wasn't for social media I would have had no idea this place was renovated. The inside decor is rustic cabin I like the the old fishing lure garland across the bar. Cabin61 is a little hidden hole in the wall in White Bear Lake. Friendly staff on a Thursday. They were pretty busy at 6:00 when we were there. A few empty tables, but when we left, the place was full. Nice tap beer selection, and some yummy sounding cocktails. The menu isn't huge, but the selections range from Tater Tot Hotdish, to Lobster Mac and Cheese to a few sandwiches. To start, we had the Korean BBQ Baby Back Ribs. The flavor was really good. We prefer a little tougher rib, not a rib that you can just pull the bone out of. The meat was a little soft for us (boiled rib, maybe?), but, again, the flavor of the sauce was really good! We also had the Porkbelly stuffed Jalapenos. Those were good too. Spicy jalapeno with a flavorful filling then battered and deep fried. Served with a jam of some sort (Lingonberry I think). I ordered the Tater Tot Hotdish. Really light flavor. The winner of this dish was the crunchy, herb Tater Tots on top. This had a balanced flavor for what it is. Wasn't over-powering in any flavor. I did add a little salt to it. This is a filling dish. I ate about half of the bowl before I was stuffed. The 9 year-old kid ordered Lobster Mac and Cheese. This was probably the best dish of our entire order. Real lobster, on a cheesy elbow noodle. This definitely was not Kraft topped with lobster. There was a nice portion of lobster, in larger chunks so you could see it. Once the lobster was cut up, almost every bite had lobster in it. Again, a very filling dish, and the kid ate a little over half, but made sure to finish all lobster. The husband ordered Fish Fry. Atlantic cod, 3 decent-sized pieces. Battered and deep fried. The batter was good. Not too thick, and remained crispy. This was served with fries and tarter sauce. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with our visit. 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, 1 tap beer, 1 soda, 1 tall kiddie cocktail, and the bill was about $68. read more

Can't say anything about the food because I left before I could order. It wasn't even that busy, but no one stopped to even greet me and my mom. We stood at the entry for a little before we realized it was a seat-your-self, which was confirmed when I made eye contact with a server across the restaurant and pointed to a table. My mom and I sat our selves down and started looking at the menu. It's a pretty small menu, but everything I read sounded really tasty. The server came by and placed two waters at our table and walked away without saying anything. Then the waiting game started. The server walked past our table at least 5 times while bussing other tables, taking food orders from other tables, and bringing drinks to other tables. We never even got an acknowledgement that we were there other than the waters being abruptly placed on our table. We waited about 10 minutes before we just left. Doubt anyone even noticed. I've never felt so unseen at a restaurant. I've been a server myself and have dined at enough restaurants to know that sometimes it's busier than it looks....but I've always let the table know that it's busy...not pretend like they don't exist. read more
