We employed Century Builders for an…read moreextensive whole-house interior remodel, which involved removing some walls and reconfiguring the layout of the bathrooms and kitchen, in addition to the usual new cabinets, countertops, and fixtures. In fact, both bathrooms and the kitchen were stripped down to the studs. We even had him repair some extensive plumbing issues that required digging up concrete in both bathrooms. They also added a skylight, canned lights throughout the house, resurfaced our fireplace, replaced all the flooring with hardwood and tile, added a linen closet, crown molding, replaced doors, blew in insulation, repaired texture on walls, and other items too lengthy to list here. Because of the scope of the project and the fact that we had to move our family and animals out during the remodel, we were pretty nervous about hiring an unknown contractor just based on reviews. We interviewed several other contractors and even though they also had good reviews, we didn't feel completely at ease with them. Ultimately, after meeting with Al a second time, we really felt that he exhibited professionalism, honesty, and a sincere desire to listen to us, so we decided to turn the full project over to him. We are certainly glad we followed this impression. The house is beautiful, and we were continually impressed with Al's workmanship and willingness to point out to us items he had caught that needed attention. Overall, we stuck fairly closely to the allowances in our bid, but we did end up adding a few additional items, which raised the cost somewhat. There were times when digging up the concrete or removing a wall would reveal more problems to be fixed. We felt that we were charged fairly for these additional costs, and Al was very good at anticipating extra cost that might appear and warning us beforehand if possible. Remodeling is by nature a stressful process, but our contractor, thankfully, was a solution to our stress and not the cause. Even though we tried to visit the house daily, it was good to be able to trust that the work would be done well, and that if any problems were noticed, that Al would make sure they were taken care of quickly. My husband works in the construction industry and has considerable experience with many aspects of construction, and he came to trust and respect Al and his workers. We both highly recommend Century Builders and we will continue to do so when friends or family need a contractor.

The owner, Mark, is a good guy who enjoys his job and has lots of good ideas. He worked closely with us, checked in frequently, and was always willing to help. We did have some issues along the way, but Mark always made it right. His team was friendly and helpful too, they were all guys that worked well together. We had an excellent Project Manager and Carpenter. I think the best thing I can say is that they wanted to help me after they had my money, not just before! I will work with them again.

I have gorgeous hardwood acacia floors, custom kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, travertine backsplashes in my kitchen as well as travertine tile on my some of my floors. My home is gorgeous! While we are very happy with the final results, getting to the so-called "finish line" proved to be…read morea bit of a challenge. That is the reason for this update. This remodeling project was begun around July 21, 2022. About three and one-half weeks later, the job was listed as complete and we were once again able to use this bathroom. However, during the following week, we had to have someone come out again to make repairs: hot/cold water in the shower was flipped; hole along the tile and baseboard discovered; silicone was coming off the niche area in the shower; caulking was incomplete around the perimeter of the shower floor. Once those repairs were made, we thought that finally we were done. Nope. The paint on the ceiling started to peel above the shower. A lot. Finally had the painter return to repair that and we thought, once again, we were done. Apparently not, since we were told the ceiling was "fixed," but something different was evidently told to Roberto. After another week, the entire ceiling showed pieces of paint peeling off. Called for another repair. This time, Roberto came out and told us that the ceiling hadn't been done right in the first place and our only option was to tear out the entire ceiling and start over at an additional cost of $450. That did not sound like a reasonable idea, so it was then suggested that the ceiling texture be redone instead and painting would be done with eggshell (semi-gloss) paint rather than latex paint. We accepted that solution and waited for it to be fixed, finally. Painter came out and did the work at the end of September, but in total we were once again out of that bathroom for 5 days waiting for texture, primer and paint to dry. However, this seems to have truly repaired the problem - thank goodness. Then I get emailed an invoice for $350 for the ceiling repair. Wow. Paid that invoice on September 27, 2022: almost 10 weeks after the job was begun. Unfortunately for Roberto and his crews, though, he was what you can call "penny wise and pound foolish." We had informed every contractor that gave us a bid for this bathroom that based on our experience, we would then move forward for the really big job -- a complete remodel of the master bathroom -- a much larger and more expensive project. Because of the 6-week drag after "completion" and delay due to the ceiling repairs (along with other fixes) and the $350 invoice we received, we did not even consider a bid from Kitchen & Bath Remodeling for our master bathroom. Chose another contractor instead.

My wife and I are very pleased with Roberto's technical team. We had a bath tub removed and replaced with a walk-in shower. We picked out the new material with the help of Doris (Robert s wife and store manager). All new materials were selected from their showroom. They replaced the countertop with great stone top and all plumbing faucets were replaced. Two years ago, we remodeled our master bathroom and we loved the job these guys did. If you have a remodel job, you should give Robert and Doris a call before hiring anyone else. Reasonable price and first class personal service from job requirements quote to final job completion.

This email was sent twice in July and August. No response has been received…read more Mr. Wahbeh, Your company did my tile and wood floor installation in 2018. As you may recall, we made several complaints about the poor quality of work done. The grout was not applied properly and was streaking on the tile surface. The tile did not look clean and was smudged terribly. Leveling clips were not used, which caused our tile to be uneven. 12 x 24 tile is supposed t have leveling clips, but ours did not. We had over 40 loose tiles, many of which are cracked. Our tile professional is removing the tile and we discovered the following mistakes made. 1. The adhesive is not evenly applied. Tile of this size is supposed to be buttered on both sides to insure proper adhesion. See the attached photos. 2. No flexible substrate was used, even though we are on a pier and beam foundation. I was told that the backerboard would prevent movement when your company did the work. This was not correct; a flexible substrate should have been used according to tile professionals. 3. Flexible grout was not used. This is necessary with large format tile and specifically where installation is on pier and beam. The grout used was Fusion Pro which is specifically not to be used where there can be movement in the subfloor. Given the poor workmanship, we have now spent over $3,500 repairing and replacing tile. This is simply wrong on many fronts. I am hereby requesting reimbursement for $3,500 for our tile repair and replacement. I would like to hear from you by July 31st so that I can decide my next course of action. If you are unwilling to reimburse my cost of repairing the poor workmanship your company did, I will have to resort to a collection effort and advise others of our situation as appropriate.

In comparing the two companies, Superior is really head and shoulders above the others. If you have a project that you want done at a fair price, with high quality on a reasonable schedule, I highly recommend Superior. Quote Process: -Superior was able to come out quickly -They included everything I asked for in the quote (this is a big deal-- I got lower quotes from 2 other companies and it turns out they "forgot" to include key elements of what I asked for. This makes their quote look lower which ultimately isn't the case) -The pricing was competitive and easy to understand. Any change requests that caused a change in pricing were discussed before anything was updated Customer Service: -Superior is a small company so you're usually dealing directly with one of the owners. This is huge since I found with my other company that it can be really annoying and a time suck to have to deal with 2 or 3 middle men. -The owners came out to check on our project at least once a week if not more. It was super obvious that they cared about us being happy with the end result. Sub-contractors: -They use quality subs and have a pretty good handle on them. This is super critical-- other companies use the cheapest subs they can find. -They manage their subs-- they give clear direction and don't expect the home owner to provide this on their behalf. Quality: -They care about the quality. The tile we picked turned out to be really tricky to install and took a lot longer than anyone anticipated. They made sure it was done right and it turned out looking amazing. -They weren't happy with some finish work that was done by the plumber so had it fixed with out my even asking (I don't know that I would have even noticed it because it was behind the bathtub). Timeline: -They stuck pretty close to the timeline that we agreed on and actually completed all elements of the project with out my having to follow up. This is huge.... our kitchen renovation from more than 18 months ago still has outstanding punch list items that the large contractor hasn't closed.
