The patio and retaining wall look great. The project took longer than expected, but those delays were all on our side. We took longer than we should have to make various decisions about light fixtures, etc. We also changed the scope of the project a few times, adding more areas of walkways that we decided needed to be refinished with the stamped concrete. We would recommend KBR for any project that you might have. Karen was great to work with and even when we were not following through with things on our end, she never lost her cool with us and was very patient waiting for us to come to decisions on things. If I could give this contractor a negative number, I would. This contractor is a joke, liar,…read moredisrespectful and not honorable at all. The owner is good at making promises he can't keep, but continues to tell you that "he'll take care of it". I needed major renovation on a kitchen and bath and was told he'd use pressure treated sills and metal plating to protect from termites. I got a piece of foam barrier and regular pine on the sill. He charged me $900 to install two 30"x32" windows and lied about the price of the windows themselves. His workers were barely at my house working and I was told by neighbors that they would just sit in their van smoking and using the back of my shed as a bathroom. I called Tommy, the owner constantly inquiring about when the work would be done, and I continued to get one song and dance after another. They were two weeks over the contract and still wasn't even close to being finished. They took absolutely no pride in their workmanship and even chipped my brand new shower (which they denied). On several occasions when I questioned the work and the ethics of the owner, he firmly reminded me that his wife was a lawyer making me feel very threatened. After many arguments, I fired him and later found out from several other contractors and clients that I wasn't the first one to do this. If you value your money and property, I strongly suggest you not hire this company. Even my local building inspector said he'd go with me to court if I chose to file a suit. That's pretty bad in my opinion.

Danielle was extremely knowledgeable, and put us on the right path with regard to our budget, design expectations and really helping us to understand how the entire process works. Right from the beginning, we knew we had reached out to the right company. Then came the build process, in which we were fortunate enough to work with Steve Costa who not only juggled a third-floor walk-up, a building from the late 1800s, but also an extremely pregnant woman who was keen on getting this project off the ground and completed as quickly as possible. Steve led a fantastic group of NKB employees and subcontractors, but I would be remiss to not give a special shoutout to John and Mike who were our dream team carpenters, kitchen décor experts, and mental support during the project. Our dog clearly misses Steve, John and Mike as they became best friends it seems during the project.
