This will be my second time using Cabinet Sense. I did a bathroom with them and now a Kitchen. I worked with Steve who is phenomenal. He came to our house for a free estimate (Home depot charges for that). From the inception of our project, he had great ideas, remained hands on throughout, and was very patient when I wanted to make small changes along the way. I shopped around at Home depot/Lowes and private competitors, nobody could match Cabinet Sense and the hand holding/guidance for the project was worth every penny. Wife and I did out first ever kitchen remodel. We were directed to Cabinet Sense by our contractor so thought it would be a good bet despite their poor Yelp reviews. We visited them on a Monday and went through a bunch of designs and decided on one. Did not get the quote and rendering until 12 days later, even after we told them we were on a tight timeline. I get that you are busy but its a simple off the shelf U-shaped kitchen. We also had a difficult time contacting them. Their phones were going straight to voicemail constantly - even during business hours. When we finally got the cabinets there were numerous design issues that we were not told about. See below: - Cabinet shelves were too short (lost almost 1 inch of depth per shelf). When we told Cabinet Sense they said WE would have to pay to get new shelves! Even if it wasn't their issue, they should own up to it and pay for new shelves. - Skin colors were off. To their credit they did get a painter to come out and paint this at no cost to us. Kudos for this. - There as no skirt on the bottom of the cabinet so the entire underside was exposed. Had to complain about this also. Ultimately we got a skirt added. There are a lot of cabinet companies out there. Cabinet Sense did have a lot of nice designs but the entire process was definitely painful. read more

Was in the market for some cabinets for a remodel and overheard a woman who I assume was the owner in a verbal disagreement with a customer. It was awful. The customer was basically describing a bait and switch that had occurred on an order. Customer was asking to work with another sales associate and the owner then told her that she did not want to even sell her anything. Who jumps right to "I'm just not going to sell to you..."? Some of the product looked nice but a little deeper assessment shows a lot of particle board and cheap materials. I will take my business elsewhere after hearing how customers are treated and a business owner who does not want to do business. read more

We used Cabinet Sense for our kitchen remodel. We were using our own designer and did have to go back and forth and be pretty stern with what we wanted. Overall, I don't think you can beat the price. We did not, however, realize that the bottoms of the cabinets would not be "finished." Steve was creative with figuring out how we could utilize the cabinets to create a "built-in" oversized refrigerator. I love the way everything turned out. I purchased a bathroom vanity from Cabinet Sense two months ago. I thought the construction for the price was subpar. It looks nice in the bathroom. I was missing a piece I thought should go with the vanity -- a quarter round for the toe kick at the floor. I dropped by and talked to someone about it and was told I would get a call. No call... I called twice and asked again... they said they would call.... no call. I do not recommend them. At least they could have called me and said whatever. ??? I don't get them but would not buy anything from them again. Also, I went to Lowe's to inquire about another bathroom vanity. A specialist worked with us and the quality and style choices were superior and it only took a half hour of our time. read more

We recently had an unexpected flood in our home in Simi when a toilet broke and all of our kitchen cabinets had to be removed immediately due to mold and contamination. Cabinet Sense came to our rescue! Had great experience with them. I started planning for my kitchen 4 month prior to the actual remodel date. I needed a company who would help me arrange and coordinate for my kitchen remodel from the beginning to the end. (Demolition, wall removal, cabinet assemble, install cabinet, install appliances, etc... Since I lived in Simi Valley and Cabinet Sense is it Simi. I thought it make sense to choose them. Over the 4 months I have contacted and visited Steve at the showroom, the owner, for over 10 times about my kitchen and my concern. Each time, Steve took his time to explain in detail to me and provided some valuable recommendations. He also came out a couple time to ensure the cabinet I want would fit the footprint of my kitchen as I was not planning to replace the flooring. I finally completed this phase of my kitchen and Cathy (Owner) followed through and sent out Esteban (Finish Installer) to complete the job. This guy Esteban does great work and knows what he is doing. My semi-custom cabinets are finished and look great. I doubled my storage space and I am looking forward to adding more cabinets and a pantry that Esteban suggested would make more storage. I was at Cabinet Sense about a month ago shopping for cabinet pulls and had an extensive conversation with the salesman about purchasing pulls. I wanted to order them from a local business rather than the online company where I had found them. I returned about two weeks ago and told the owner that I was there order our pulls. She disappeared into the back room and did not return, so after waiting about five minutes I left, assuming that she was busy and I could come back another day. This morning I went in and a VERY RUDE young woman at the front desk said "What do you need?" I replied that I was there to purchase cabinet pulls. She asked if I purchased our cabinets there and I said no. She said that they do not sell just the pulls, that you MUST purchase your cabinets from them. I told her that I was there twice before and spoke to two different people who never mentioned that to me. She replied "Well you can look, but we will not sell them to you." Okay then, I guess you don't need my $1,000.00 order or a good Yelp review. I came home and ordered them online, cheaper than what they were at Cabinet Sense. So much for supporting a local business. Your staff failed at directing customers on your business process at the initial greeting. I should have been told to show myself around, rather than cluelessly wandering the showroom. I also should have been told that you were short staffed or too busy to assist us rather than wait over 20 minutes for the staff to finally come over. Your receptionist DID NOT speak with us extensively because she had no knowledge about anything, which is why she tried to find us a designer to speak with. The most extensive part of our conversation was filling out the customer information form she had. I own 3 businesses and my staff greet our customers when they walk in, and ask how they can help, or inform the customers that they'll be with them shortly and to wait in the lobby or have a look around. The customers know the staff has acknowledged them and know how to proceed from there, not left wondering. If my staff is still busy after 5-10 minutes, they let the customers know and apologize.
