I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before visiting CTG. I found them on a family member's recommendation and have been so impressed. I was about to spend significantly more money for cabinets from Lowe's which were not higher quality. Cabinets to go got me slightly larger cabinets for about 30 percent less money, and more importantly I received them in about a week as opposed to 4 weeks from lowe's. I worked on a design with Brad, the store manager and found him to be very informative, helpful and not at all pushy. There was one cabinet and a couple of trim pieces on backorder and expected soon. I don't expect any problems, given that my purchase and pickup went seamlessly but I will update if anything goes wrong with that. Overall I definitely recommend this place if you're doing a remodel. I didn't use their installation services so I can't comment on that aspect. read more

We just wrapped up a great experience with Cabinets To Go. Brad took our ideas and helped us create the perfect design, even with our quirky additions. They handled the demo, cabinet install, and contracted the countertop install. Communication was great from start to finish. The demo and cabinets went so smoothly- we had a small plumbing hiccup when they removed old cabinets that had been nailed into a drain pipe, but they fixed that for us and stayed on schedule. The countertops took a few weeks to come in, but CTG had given us fair warning that would be the case with supply delays these days. Everything looks so good and we stayed right on budget. read more

I selected Aspen White, and he gave me a little sample of the door to help with decorating! Cabinets to Go has a great selection (I love that the cabinets are all wood - they're an AMAZING value), and an assortment of accessories- like roll out shelves, drawer dividers, and hardware. Our experience with Cabinets to Go was awesome from start to finish! Brad helped us figure out what kind of cabinets fit our desired uses, and how to best utilize the space in our laundry room with the right cabinets. We love our new kitchen! Brad designed our dream kitchen exactly the way we pictured it and when everything was installed it looked even better in the space. We did have a few obstacles in the kitchen (windows, doorways, walls on odd places) that made it nearly difficult to come up with a clever design that would look spacious and intentional but Cabinets To Go made the kitchen possible. Hands down one of the worst experiences of my life. Not only did they promise a three week turn around and it's going on 3 months and I still don't have all the pieces of my cabinets but when I call to figure out where they are their response every time is oh we forgot to order it will be on next weeks truck or I'm not sure where it is. The store manager Brad could care less about helping his customers just pushes you off on a 1-800 number and the installer they sent out here charged me 500 dollars extra on top of their 2000 dollar fee and installed my cabinets with nails instead of glue and they are uneven and crooked. The experience with CTG has been atrocious at the least. We are now 10 weeks into an 11 cabinet install. My countertops and floor have been delayed due to first an installer that wouldn't respond, 2nd he did an absolutely terrible job when he finally showed up, not a single cabinet of the 11 we're plumb it level, the countertop company wouldn't even template because the 5 base cabinets were so far off. CTG did let me know if I was going to be such a perfectionist I should have done them myself. He also broke several of the cabinets assembling them and tried to hide it by adjusting doors and using filler. Now we're are 3 weeks after CTG finally took ownership of the screw up and still nobody is rushing to fix anything. Would never use them again. read more

We purchased the raised panel Victoria Ivory and we love them. We had a great experience from the sells floor to having them installed. Very professional from the start to the finish. The only drawback was they do not deliver so we had to pick all the cabinets up. But we saved so much money over the big box store prices. I highly recommend them. Although they say they strive for 100% Customer Satisfaction "Customer Care" made promises to resolve my issues and get back with me before close of business today --- which they did not. Store #322 repeatedly gave me shipping dates and delivery dates that were never met. They are not on top of their orders and cannot resolve customer concerns. Measurements and Designs were faulty and had to be redone when the issues were pointed out by me-not them. Requests to get the phone number for a district or regional manager resulted in a promise to send management an email to contact me which to date I have not heard from anyone in corporate. read more

My poor rating is almost entirely due to the HORRENDOUS customer service through the national number. The in-store staff are GREAT, but if you have a problem there are limits on what issues they have the power to address and what they have to refer you to the national number for. The issue the store staff could take care of was easy - taken care of in about 2 days. However, a MONTH AND A HALF later... the national number has not resolved any of the 3 issues including getting me the 9 extra screw pins I needed (that are not sold at a hardware store - I checked multiple). I was repeatedly blown off, told I just needed to talk to the store, calls not returned, told they cannot help me at all without suggesting any solution, or told they had given the store the correct information that when I called my patient and polite store worker was clearly different from what had actually been communicated to her so yeah... Still have a giant empty hole in an expensive closet system that is sitting empty unable to be used. Apparently the closets are an uncommon item to be ordered so they have no idea how to handle it. Do NOT order a closet system from them. I luckily had no problems with my bathroom vanity order other than understanding the directions, but that is pretty standard for any unassembled furniture item these days. It looks good, but then you turn and see the empty hole of closet.... Yeah so not worth any savings. The staff that don't see you in person definitely have zero concerns about helping their customers. read more

Dovetailed drawers with soft close runners are not something you expect on cabinets at half the cost of competitors. We saved thousands and feel we got a high end result! This is an extremely unorganized and deceptive company that lacks customer service skills. We were very excited in the beginning ordering our cabinets with a great price. Then came the stress and headache attached to that great price. I will gladly pay more the next time for a company with the knowledge and customer service skills attached to this type of transaction. 3-5 weeks is their favorite statement.. Do not hold your breath! When they finally arrive, we did not receive all of the cabinets we ordered we were still missing cabinet fronts of cabinet bases we had on hand, cabinet bases to cabinet fronts we had on hand, one of the boxes was missing a cabinet back so we had to wait for them to find another one, and a cabinet that was the wrong color. What a mess we had on our hands! When all was said and done we still did not end up with what we ordered. We accepted a cabinet base with a door instead of the drawers we wanted (which by the way was $72.00 less expensive than the one we paid for). They charged our credit card the deposit when we ordered, charged our account the balance of our original order 30 days before the headache began. When we asked for a credit for the cabinet exchange of $72.00 we were told they accidently under charged our original card and we owed them more money! After many telephone calls later I received a voice mail stating it was a mistake and I did not owe them anything. Then without my consent and without my knowledge they charged my account a week later $95.81. Guess what they still owe me a refund... fat chance getting that from these jokers. Even with all of the documentation they cannot add. The cabinets themselves are cheaply made only the fronts look great! Do not be deceived! Run as fast as you can the headache is not worth it in the end. read more

-Drafting plans and setup: not bad, only person capable seemed to be TJ. -Changes, they were horrible at tracking, eventually still didn't have two things correct and had to change it at the store, during pickup. Also we were supposed to pick these up on Saturday but a couple days before they tell us they can't sort the Friday delivery and it will have to be Monday. -Measurements: we were told the cost would come off the total bill and they would need to send a contractor out for verification. The contractor took 2-3 measurements and said looks fine. -(April 24, 2017 - Monday) Picking up the cabinets seemed like a joke. Employee charged us, then printed receipt and upon review we still identified two errors, which they did correct immediately (kudos to TJ...again seemed like the only person who knew what was going on...honestly seems like he is babysitting the other employees). -Loading, I did most of the work. To add on, it was raining and I had a utility trailer, I asked for additional plastic and the employee pointed to a 5" roll of tape. Luckily I had 3 tarps in my vehicle in preparation for rain. I asked several times did we forget about anything? Did we leave anything to the side? They weren't checking the documents and I was busy loading. All responses were no, but I was still hesitant as I loaded my trailer but nobody, including my wife, checked off anything from the receipt, and at this point I was tired from loading, waterproofing and strapping. As I was about to depart the employees came running out (thanks to TJ again), and guess what, there was 6-7 more items staged somewhere else. -Opening the cabinets, not too much packaging, maybe enough to keep them safe, probably could have been better though. (Follow up...about 40% of the cabinets had dings, scrapes, scratches, etc...most of them will be hidden though, so it's bearable). -Instructions....HORRIBLE. I've been overseas and put together cabinets from everywhere in the world, these are like trying to piece together a puzzle but you only have half the picture as a go-by. (Follow up...once you figure out how to put together each type of cabinet the first time, they go together quickly after that. A decent YouTube video titled Cabinets To Go Tutorial actually is more in depth than their videos on the website, especially attaching the drawer rails. Except for the lazy Susan. Broken parts...I took the week off to install these. One cornerstone, lazy Susan, has used marks, either from the factory or a previous purchase, and they did a bad job of hiding it...obvious pre-open marks and scratches. Also lots of additional parts, I presume somebody lost count at the factory or repackage facility. Bottom line is this lazy Susan was holding us up. It was crooked, scratched, not level, etc. we needed a new cabinet. Customer service at the shop stated they didn't have an extra cabinet, the employee stated call the 1-800 cabinet number and they'll ship a replacement overnight directly to you...wrong. I called and left a message, to which they never returned my call. I continued to call for several hours and finally reached a rep. Once I contacted those reps, they seemed like they could care less. No overnight shipping, matter of fact, you have to send in your complaint, they will verify/validate if it warrants a response or replacement, then if they ship it the following day, at like 2pm, then it's another two day wait from there, which puts it leaving the warehouse Tuesday and me receiving it prob Thursday night (according to the CustSerRep on Monday). So much for that week off to install these. Additionally, as I was explaining what was wrong with the cabinet, the CustSerRep (didn't directly say this) but alluded to the fact that they quality control everything before it departs and again alluded that maybe I damaged the cabinets. [I take this personally as I would not call in my own damage, and if I was asked I would use this moral called integrity...something the company surely wasn't using with me]. So, am I happy? They say you get what you pay for. I'm wishing right now (still trying to figure out how to put each cabinet together as I go) that I'd paid more and got some elsewhere. Yeah I'm disappointed and a little bitter right now. When you spend over $5000 at a business you would think a little customer service and assistance would come with it, but now that they got my money, it feels like I'm no longer a customer. Cutting this short due to character limit... UPDATE: It is now three weeks (May 15, 2017) still no cabinet. UPDATE: June-July, still no cabinet, multiple misleading emails. UPDATE: July 23, received email stating cabinet shipped with length (90+ days later) You get what you pay for...one story before they get your money, another story once they have your money...you are not a priority. read more

Cabinets To Go has done it again!!! I am moving to a new home that needs a total kitchen revamp. It is bitter sweet for me because in 2010 I purchased cabinets from Cabinets To Go. My sale person was John and he helped me with all my cabinet needs, advised me about every detail I needed to address. The experience was great. Customer service was top notch. Now as I get ready to redo my next kitchen, I once again visited the Cabinets To Go showroom and worked with Brad Jones. He was awesome. He helped me design the kitchen space so I could get a visual of how it would look. He advised me on placement and symmetry of cabinets. The cabinets I purchased have held up beautifully. Originally my husband was skeptical about Cabinet To Go, but when I started shopping for cabinets this time.....he insisted that we purchase our cabinets from Cabinets To Go once again because of the quality and durability of our current cabinets. Buyer Beware!! Watch for hidden costs! Pros: Cabinets are great looking and work well. Cons: Everything else 1. Was given a quote for new cabinets that included installation. Well, one would think that removing the old cabinets would be apart of that, especially since Brad came out to measure and saw all the cabinets there. Nver mentioned a thing. Got a bill for $589 after the new cabinets were installed and was told that was for the removal of the old cabinets. 2. Delays - was told the cabinets would be there in 7 days - it was closer to 21 days. 3. Cabinets Plus, run by John Gilbert, was contracted by Cabinets to Go to do the removal and install. 4. They removed my Microwave, removed the receptacle and just left it on the floor. They told me that hooking it back up was not included. 5. During removal/insall, Cabinets Plus broke my dishwasher drain, but that was not discovered until everything was hooked back up. John Gilbert said that there was no way to prove that his guys did it. Well, it worked before the cabinets were removed; therefore, I would pretty much say that they did it, since they unhooked everything during the removal. His plumber, Scott and Mike's Plumbing wanted $180 to come hook up the replacement hose, since John Gilbert would not stand behind his employee's work. 6. Corners were cut. They measured all my cabinets, but the cabinets I got were smaller than those replaced. Example: to the left of my stove, they put a 12-inch wide cabinet and drawer to replace my 15-inch that had been there. Also, cabines above range were not as tall or big and hold less. Also, at the corner of the "L" shape in the back, there were huge gaps that would be covered by granite, but represented a huge loss of Sq. Feet of Storage underneath. 7. Was quoted granite for the job, but when it was time to be done, they wanted to charge me an additional $700 for extra sq feet required that they said they had not measured during the measurement. Smelling a scam, I got several other quotes, and I had EcoGranite install the same granite for $1,000 less!!! And I didn't even share quotes. 8. Brad and the rest at Cabinets to Go are nice, but I just feel that everything was not disclosed up front. 9. Make sure you get EVERYTHING detailed about the job - demolish, install, plumbing, Appliance re-install, accurate measurements, etc. Demand computer rendition of before and after with dimensions. Demand no gaps and that cabinets go all the way to the wall. 10. Request an installer other than John Gilbert and Cabinets Plus. 11. Others have had great experiences, and maybe I am the guy who expects more, but this entire process has been more than frustrating and ended up costing a LOT more than originally quoted. 12. This process has been extremely stressful and should have been handled better. Certain aspects of the installation process are not fully explained, or come to you throughout the process piece by piece. I understand that there are multiple parties involved but the process was not as smooth as promised. We didn't find out that demo and sink installation was an extra cost on top of basic installation until we were already sitting at the store ordering our cabinets. That's another several hundred, depending on what you need removed. The plumber (to come back and reconnect your water line) is another cost separate from the basic installation, we did not know this piece of info until late in the process. These things need to be laid out very clearly at the beginning, we got very vague information in this regard. We thought we did enough research, as we do with everything we buy, but for people who have never done any renovations, we did not know what questions to ask and were left feeling very in the dark and extremely confused. I did not know that delivery cost another $150 until I got the call that my cabinets were ready for pick up. I didn't find out my cabinets weren't being delivered until the morning of delivery because of a incorrect piece in the order. Installation had to be delayed a week because of this. The hardware for my cabinets did not arrive in time for installation because they come from yet another facility. No one at the store knew where the hardware was--they asked me 3 times if I received them and I said no, I was told they would check and let me know (they did not). Finally, after the cabinets were in without hardware, I called to ask again and I was told they were being overnighted to the store. Hardware showed up at my house a week later and the installer had to come back to complete the work. It took days to get back in touch with the installer. This has been a horrible experience as far as customer service. I can be easy going and understand everyone is busy, but not when it comes to my home and use of my kitchen that I just paid a lot of money for. read more

I sincerely hope that the total lack of customer service only exists in the Richmond design center. My Husband and I made an appointment and meet with one of the salesman on 10/1/18. We ordered beautiful off white shaker style cabinets. We planned to pick up the cabinets, assemble, and install them our self. The order was supposed to be in store by mid-October. When we had not heard anything about our order by 10/17/18, we called and were told that the salesman we worked with was no longer with the company. Our order was never placed. When we were questioned about the color we looked it up on their website, we told them Victoria white. Well, when we picked them up they were not shaker style. When we contacted them, we were told Victoria white was the style and color. At this point, we could not take them back. We felt we had no choice other than to install a style we did not chose, because we did not have a functional kitchen. We also ending up with a cabinet that was much to large for the space. We double checked the measurements we provided to the salesman and they were correct. We had to order a new cabinet that would fit in the space and are stuck with a $600 cabinet that we cannot use. Everyone we spoke with at the design center said all of this was due to our errors and absolutely nothing was done, not even an apology. If you choose to purchase cabinets from Cabinets To Go, go to the Norfolk design center. I will NEVER purchase or recommend Cabinets To Go to anyone. read more
