I did agree to multiple add ons (not really by choice but because they said I had to) and even on top of all of those, they still had to sneak in more. Do Not Buy From This Dealership -- Learn From My Mistake I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership out of state, and it was by far the most frustrating car buying experience I've ever had. The vehicle was originally listed on AutoTrader for $36,000, but when I reached out, the price had suddenly jumped to $39,900 -- a textbook bait-and-switch. It took over two weeks just to finalize the sale due to the finance rep never returning calls or emails. I had to contact the main dealership line over 10 times just to get basic updates. The entire process felt chaotic and disorganized from the start. They did disclose that the front bumper had been damaged and said it would be professionally repaired for $800. However, the repair was clearly not professional. The bumper was cracked, filled with Bondo, and painted over without even being removed -- a low-quality fix that would never pass for proper bodywork. That wasn't the only issue. Several other problems were never disclosed: * The front camera lens was cracked -- a $1,300 repair according to BMW. * There were spider cracks on the rear bumper, likely from a previous accident. * A noticeable dent was on the door that had never been mentioned. * The car arrived dirty, with dog hair between the seats and personal items still in the center console. * A GPS tracker was still installed and powered, even though I paid for the car in full, in cash. After raising these concerns, I was told someone would follow up. That never happened, despite contacting them three separate times and being given the same excuse each time: "Someone will reach out today or tomorrow." This was a $40,000 purchase, and I absolutely overpaid for the condition the car was delivered in. Had I known about the extent of the damage and the poor quality of the repair work, I would not have paid what I did -- or may not have moved forward with the sale at all. The lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable. I waited to write this review because I wanted to give them a fair chance to make things right. I had 3 recall issues that needed fixed. Their service department was prompt and accurate with time frame! Their waiting area is wonderful! Plug ins and high top desks for computer work, big tv and seating, individual tables if you wish! They had snacks, coffee machine, and bottles of chilled water. I loved their service! They took a video of my engine and filters that needed replacing. They gave me the option to replace or keep the old one! Car maintenance is never fun... but I wasn't caught off guard! All they offered for my time off from work and gas and miles on my car was to pay the penalties for being late on tagging my car and a tank of gas. I went to KIA for a scheduled oil change. During the wait, the service sent a video (which I didn't watch because I was only getting an oil change). Eventually, a tech came to inform me of work that could be done - I said no, I was only here for the oil change. After two hours, I finally went to ask what was taking so long with the oil change and was informed that KIA decided to look over my car and keep me there for an hour longer (an oil change should have taken less than an hour). Then they tried to use "scare tactics" about my battery, which I had no problems with before my visit, nor since. I have never been so "hounded" by a car company trying to get more work from a simple visit and waste an hour of my time waiting while they did things I did not authorize or was even informed about. Very disappointing service, and even worse is the hounding to have work done that I wasn't prepared to have done during that specific visit. Now I will have someone else do that work, as I will not be going back to KIA... or to Cable Dahmer. The sales side versus the service side really reveals the company's character. This dealership advertises competitive prices but once you are willing to pay that exact price they come back and change their mind, saying "Oh yeah actually its... ". They advertise false prices on their own website aswell as through other websites like CarGurus. They will purposefully trick you to come in for a fairly priced car and then once you sit in the chair they will explain why they actually have to charge you 30% more. And that doesnt include all the fees... thats a 30% increase just on the base price. I believe this dealership to be using shady and probably ILLEGAL bait and switch strategies to influence customers to come in and fall for their trickery. I had been a loyal customer for years. My buddy had bought two Sportages from this exact dealership and I was planning on buying a new Sportage from them until what I just experienced recently. I started noticing they had began doing shotty work around early 2025 when they were not checking certain things they claimed they had done. Had brake jobs that were poorly done and they were losing lugs. The problem is that they didn't bother to tell me anything about missing lugs. They were hand tightened and losing my custom lugs I bought at Discount Tire and later repl them with cheap aluminum lugs. I didn't think to go behind them to check to see if the lugs were tightened enough after these brake jobs. On my May 2 visit I dropped the car off because they didn't have the parts in stock, so they gave me a courtesy car for the weekend. In replacing my two front rotors they way overtightened missing lugs and broke them off. This missing lugs issue has been going on since last October. While I ha the car in their care that Friday. I tried to call them on Monday but the service desk guy was out that day and I couldn't get any update. On early Tuesday during overnight hours while they left the car unlocked on their lot thieves tried to steal my car, scratched up the passenger door panel, ransacked inside, broke steering column, stole everything out of trunk. I lost booster cables, air compressor, battery charger, bag of tools, Thieves did a real number on my car all because of Canle Dahme's negligence and lack of care for the customer. Then Cable Dahmer stuck me with filing on my insurance claim and did nothing about my losses. They didn't even pick up the scattered papers and parts off the floors and in the floorboard for me. They also charged me the labor fee and for rotors whenever they should have done the initial brake work correctly in the first place. Here's the real additional insult...They even tried to charge me over $100 additional fee for use of their courtesy car. Needless to say my total losses are now around $3000 not counting my insurance claim with a $250 deductible and $421 rental car fee for over $1500 to repair the steering column damages. I just had to buy two new wheels today from Discount Tire because of Cable Dahmer's, subpar, dangerous, and lousy work. If my front wheel had came off on the interstate highway I could have been killed and/or injured someone else because of this dealership and their careless negligence. Another shop is now being forced to cut off the two front wheels that Cable Dahmer just worked on because they broke off 3 of the 5 lugs on the driver's front wheel and 1 of the 5 lugs on the left front wheel. I had four other lugs that were broken off, split and/or missing on the back two wheels but the shop was able to get those lugs replaced. The attempted theft at Cable Dahmer KIA in Lee's Summit, MO took place on 5/7/25 and I later got a call about how satisfied I was with their service. I didn't waste any time explaining how dissatisfied I was and though I was very civil, I requested my complaint go straight to the top for the owner(s). I was told my complaints would go to the owner and that I would hear back but that was around 5/8/25 and I still have not heard anything from them about my dissatisfaction. I will never, ever use or buy anything else ever again from any Cable Dahmer automobile dealership in the Kansas City Metro again! In fact they lost a sale because I just purchased a Mazda CX-5 instead as a result of how poorly I was treated and how lousy and dangerous their mechanical work was on my Forte. I figure if they are treating me so poorly they are doing the same to their other customers as well. In fact, they apparently lost their BBB membership and as of 6/2/25 show an F rating for lack of responses to complaints. I am personally telling all of my family, friends and everyone I know about how they mistreated me on their lousy, dangerous mechanical work, negligence and insulting way they did me on the vandalism and theft. I'm sure I am not the only person who has had a terrible experience with Cable Dahmer but I can vote with my dollars and I choose to go elsewhere and stay clear of their businesses from here on. Purchased a car two months ago with sales tax figured in. When we went to tag the car the check was $540 short. We called to talk with someone about it, but had to leave messages five times. It took a week to finally talk with Finance about it. They say it's just an estimated guess on the tax. The dealer is in the same county we live in and they have to guess on the sales tax. Doesn't make any sense to me. They will not fix their mistake and take no blame. We told them about the late fee that will be charged, and she said bring us the receipt and we will refund us since it's their mistake but won't fix the tax mistake. Looked at a car. Liked it enough to purchase. Cable Dahmer had it listed at $51,799.00. We countered at $50,500.00 Ast. Sales Manager Charlie Uhls countered with... wait for it.... $53,400.00 WAIT... WHAT? We had already been through this with the salesman. Uhls wanted to come in and make the process completely opaque and try to confuse the numbers by adding back in all the unnecessary crap dealers offer on cars. All the stuff we had already said to NOT include. He then said the car was worth $54K+. Price it there then. But they didn't. They priced it $51,799 and then would not negotiate in good faith, going up in price instead of down from the advertised price. We liked the car, so we went to $51,000 and he countered with... $51,999.00. Still two hundred dollars OVER their advertised price. Absolutely crazy. I offered a fair price for the car, and Cable Dahmer, instead of meeting in the middle, jacked the price up over what they had it listed for. They did not want to deal in good faith, especially when they found out we wouldn't be financing. We gladly walked. To heap a final dose of disrespect, Uhls said he would call me and he never did. Hard to believe that we were going to hand them a check for over 50K and we were still treated like trash. Give Cable Dahmer a HARD PASS. If it was possible to give less than one Star, we definitely would. Long story short, took our 2020 Kia telluride into have the sunroof diagnosed which was open about 2 inches, drop it off on June 27, guaranteed by T. and answer within five days max. At that time we knew there was going to be rain in the forecast, and he assured us that they never leave a vehicle outside that is uncovered or if they do not have appropriate covers they bring it into the service bay. Finally on July 8, we get a full diagnosis. Diagnosis is not good, and despite an ongoing issue with Kia and their sunroof, we are told this is not covered and we decide to pick up the vehicle. At that time, we checked inside and the entire console is soaked, as are the storage areas. I called to speak with a manager and twice I am sent to voicemail. We also spoke to J. in their service department and are told that "there probably shouldn't be any issues" despite all the rain. We are done with this location, although we have truly enjoyed our Kia and despite this all too common issue with the sunroof, we will most likely buy another Kia down the road. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before I took my car in here. I immediately got a call from a sales person trying to sell me a new car. I told them I'd like to get my car fixed. I then received a text from the repair shop saying that it would be $650 just to inspect the vehicle and it might be easier if I just buy a new car from them. I've been fighting with them for the last three weeks just to justify a inspection 4x any other shop. Their customer service is a call center that will not provide contacts to upper management or anyone liable to answer for this behavior. Employee stalks people using company property Nicholas Moretina likes to maliciously follow me around anywhere I go. I have been followed home, followed to other people's homes, followed to work, followed around town and into other towns, followed around on my lunch breaks, and so on. One of the times that Nicholas followed me home, I confronted him, the person who was trespassing on my property and taking photos of my home and vehicles, and I was called derogatory slurs and threatened in return. Nicholas has even stalked me around while driving what I believe to be company vehicles. I believe this because of the position Nick holds at Cable Dahmer Kia and the fact that I have been followed by him in multiple types of vehicles that have no license plates but have dealer license plate frames. Reports to the police have been made, but they say they cannot really do anything unless he actually hurts someone or something. I have also gone into the Kia dealership a couple months ago now and made a report with Tristan Chiarolanza and explained what has been going on. I was told by Tristian that the behavior this employee has displayed was not acceptable and that they would report it higher up and even "take this issue to Mr. Dahmer himself" as I recall. Yet Nicholas has still been stalking me, potentially on company time and using company property. Unfortunately when I came in to make the report, anyone "higher up" was not available at that time. I hate to have to give such a bad review for a company over one individual, but I wouldn't want to shop at or have this dealership do any work on a vehicle if they condone such behavior in any way. I have reached back out to Tristan today since Nicholas still wants to continue to check in on me and he said he is moving it up the chain of command again, hopefully these shenanigans can stop soon. read more

AVOID THIS STORE IF YOU ARE A YOUNG FEMALE!! I have a Kia Rio that has the issue with it that makes it easy to steal. Kia sent me a manufacturer recall in the mail so I visited the dealer on Colbern Road to get it fixed. Kyle Perdue was the guy at the desk that helped me- and was a complete jerk. Dropping my car off was fine, he was annoyed that I was there so I tried to get out and leave. When I dropped it off, I let him know that my name was spelled wrong on the paperwork- which he told me he would fix so I left and let them do their work. They sent me a video of the technician explaining all of these things that are wrong with my car (that I had actually just gotten replaced by another car shop) so I ignored it. When I went in to pick up my car, they ignored me for about 15 minutes while they all sat there at their desks switching from their computers to their phones. Then Kyle gave me the final paperwork for my car and I was just waiting to leave. Then, THEY PULL UP THE WRONG CAR and the tech asks Kyle if I have the red car, and he says no she has a white one. 15 more minutes of them searching for my car and they pull it up. I am literally watching it sit there, and I watched the technician get out and go up to a different service guy. I walk up to Kyle and ask him if the tech put my keys over with the other guy. By this time the tech has walked away, and Kyle is looking for my keys. They can't find them. He spends another 10 minutes looking for my keys, then goes "oh shit they're in the car" and I am fuming so I stay quiet and drive away. I get home and realized my name is spelled wrong on the paperwork, my address is incorrect, and my mileage is wrong as well. Oh and the VIN number on the paperwork isn't mine. So I went back up there and had this really nice lady fix it. Bottom line, if you're a female looking to get her car fixed, go to Oades Brothers off of Douglas. Aweful experience at Cable Dahmer Kia of Lees Summit!! Purchased a 2023 used Kia Forte and when my son went to get in the car the salesman said, "oh by the way there's only one (1) key fob." Mind you this is a car with 20,000 miles on it. The car wasn't washed until he drove it off the lot and when we got home found hail damage on the roof and side panels that weren't disclosed. I took my daughter's Jeep Compass for a simple oil change 3 weeks ago. The next day, my daughter brought it back because oil is leaking . So they changed the filter. It was still leaking so I brought it back 2 days after , they checked and cleaned and assured me that everything is fine. I brought it back last week because it is still leaking. Same thing happened, they checked, made me wait for 20 minutes to make sure nothing is leaking. Guess what, it is still leaking . My garage floor is full of oil leak. I would select 0 if possible. I know this is a lot to read but I believe it will be worth your time. I recently left an updated review about cable dahmer kia. I truly didn't believe that the customer service could be worse than it already was. However, I've been proven wrong. My husband and I got a Kia K5 back in November. Since having the car we have had multiple issues with the financing department (see previous review). Today, I was informed by my husband that someone from the financing team called our friend and told him that we would need to resign the financing documents for the 5th time now. I find it absolutely disturbing and so so unprofessional that the financing team called a friend of ours instead of us. That is personal information and it shouldn't be shared with anyone but us. Also, we have reached out to the manager of the financing team looking for information on how to make a payment on the car and how we can cancel the warranty. He has not reached back out to us and it has been a couple of weeks. But when he needed us to sign the same documents 4 times in a row because he kept making errors, we heard from him at all times of the day via call and text. But now that we need something we can't even get a response. We have tried multiple times to reach out to the GM and express our concerns and we never get and answer or call back. Kia's excuse for us having to sign the documents for a 5th time now is that the leap year messed up their system. That is the worst excuse I have ever heard in my life. Once this is all taken care of I will never step foot in a Kia dealership again. They are very unprofessional and down right not good at their jobs. There is no excuse for this situation. If anyone is looking to purchase a new car I promise you will find better service literally anywhere else. I've had two poor experiences with this dealership. My husband and I came to look at what vehicles they had on the lot. We walked around the lot for quite a while and no one approached us despite multiple employees looking at us. Typically, a salesperson approaches perspective sellers on the lot, however since the pandemic, I just assumed they must be more cautious. We decided to leave and return another day since we didn't see anything on the lot that interested us. Fast forward to today. After checking the Kia website and finding Tellurides available, I decided to go see if I could purchase one of the 2022 Tellurides. My 11 year old son accompanied me. My husband did not. My encounter with the staff at this location was dreadful. I walked in and up to the front desk. At the front desk were three employees: a tall women with blonde hair, a young man with braces who was eating a sucker, and another young, brunette woman. The blonde woman greeted me by asking how she could help me today. I asked, "Do you have any Tellurides I can take a look at." At this point she turns to the other two employees and laughs. She turns back to me and asks if I have an appointment. I confirm I do not. She asks for my name and my phone number and states, "I will go find someone to help you." She then walks back to the offices. Roughly a minute later another employee (possibly a salesman?) comes out of the offices, walks up to the front desk and stands for a moment, then says with a laugh to the young man with braces, "What are you doing?" The young man with braces shrugs and the employee circles around the desk back toward the offices. Roughly another minute passes before the blonde woman comes back out to say she can't help me with "what I'm looking for today" and that "the only Telluride she has is in service." She does not offer me a card or a time in which I could return for potential assistance. So to be clear, I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO SPEAK WITH A SALESPERSON. ONLY THE RECEPTIONIST. I say thank you and walk out. The young man with braces follows us out and points to a car parked in the ADA Accessible Parking spot and says we can look inside this one as this is the one that "is in service". I declined, stating I had located the new 2022 Telluride online at this dealership and that was the only reason I came over. I'll admit that I did not come to the dealership wearing a diamond tiara and pearls, rather a pullover, yoga pants, and a baseball cap. In my defense however, after spending the last 2 years as a frontline healthcare worker, I chose to enjoy some lounge wear on my day off. The entire interaction was oddly reminiscent of the scene from Pretty Woman in which Julia Robert's character is shamed out of the clothing store because it is presumed she doesn't have the funds to purchase the items advertised. However in my case, I am not a prostitute, nor was I dressed like one. If you would like to be judged based solely on your appearance, please proceed to Cable Dahmer Kia of Lee's Summit. If you would like to be treated like a human being, choose literally any other dealership in the KC area. read more

I have to 1st say, nothing wrong with the oil changes I have gotten there. The rest of the experiences have been HORRIBLE! 1st visit after buying my 2021 Stinger, in for an oil change, 4000 miles. They do the oil change and tell my I owe for that and a tire rotation!?!? I didn't request a tire rotation (it ONLY has 4000 miles on it) and you can't rotate the tires on this car due to it having different size wheels/tires front to back! I checked to make sure they didn't, and they didn't, so basically was trying to charge for something they didn't even do!!! so they took that off. 2nd visit - oil change. all was Ok except I had just detailed the car before i went in so the car was spotless.. they washed it anyway. I asked them to please note my account to NOT wash my car, I detail it myself. 3rd visit - oil change. they did the oil change and tried to charge me 20.00+ more than previous 2 times, I asked about it and they noticed that was right so they fixed that. 4th (last) visit - oil change. They did the oil change, I paid the bill, i walked out to the car with the service advisor and immediately seen my front license plate bent 6 different ways!! i pointed it out to him and he said "courtesy of our car wash" and bent down and bent it around a little bit. I explained my account has on it to not wash this car. "oh I didn't see that" I started to straighten the front plate and then he decided to "help"?!? I stood up, told him never mind (upset) and he started walking away "Thank you"1 as he was 1/2 way back in the building. May sound petty but I paid over $43k for my car, and I take care of it like it's a show car, I hand wash it, hand dry it, polish it, detail it.. all with professional equipment, not auto parts store stuff. I don't need them taking it thru a automatic car wash with harsh chemicals and leaving water spots and streaks on a freshly cleaned car.. only reason they get 2 stars is the oil change quality, they do that part OK.. the rest of the service ruins it.. read more

Bought my second suv here. Traded in my old Kia for a Chevy. They staff were helpful upon getting approved for a new suv. A few I was shown had cosmetic damage to them that weren't brought up. Otherwise, a quick and easy buying experience. read more

Never will I even drive past here let alone purchase another vehicle. I purchased my car along with the powertrain warranty, now that I have problems they want to send me to the Cable Dahmer on Noland because they don't work on GM's, that was never mentioned in the purchase They said in order to read the sensor, pull in and don't turn off your car so we can get the sensor read, I did what I was instructed and then the next day they tell me to come pickup my car and take it to the noland road location after the car does it again, I said well didnt you get the sensor read when I left the car running, they said yes but we turned it off to try to get the car to do it again and it didnt so theres no issues with the car now.Make it make sense please, you tell me not to turn off the car but then you turn it off and tell me you don't work on GM cars. Well I said can you call noland road to tell them we are coming there, well no we can't because the issue isnt showing up now since the car is turned off. Sad thing is we were just thinking about purchasing a new car but I know where we won't be going and I will make sure non of my friends or family go either!!! What a frustrating experience, so many times taking off work just to be in the same position as I started with this issue!!! Poor service and no empathy what so ever, just about making a buck, not about keeping a good relationship. read more

Went to buy a new car - salesman was Rickey Nichols. He seemed nice enough, but their appraisal and financing are a joke. Tried to lowball me on my trade-in going almost $4,500 under Kelley Blue Book. Then when I made it clear I wasn't going to accept the offer and asked for my license and keys back so I could leave, they came back with the 'real' offer. I told them I was already offended by the initial offer and that I wouldn't be doing business with them. read more

Me and my husband have had a horrible experience with horrible service. Do not recommend anyone that wants to buy a vehicle to not do business there. A week ago, I decided to purchase a 2023 Kia Sportage. I contacted two dealerships and Cable Dahmer contacted me the next day. I specifically requested Christina because based on her reviews, she was a good salesperson. I specifically wanted to test drive the Hybrid model, however I knew there was a shortage, based on my experience with Shawnee Mission Kia, a year ago. Fortunately, I was able to test drive a personal vehicle of an employee, so I could see what the Hybrid was like. Christina answered all of my questions, until we figured out I should drive the gas powered Sportage because I needed a comfortable ride. The third vehicle I drove fit the bill. It had the features and the comfort/handling I needed. Everything was great until, I went to the finance office to begin the paperwork process. It was 9:30 P.M. and after being there since 4:45 P.M., it had been a long evening without food or snacks. When the process started with Nick, he began the process of trying to sell the various packages of warranties for many things. Mind you, the vehicle had two dealer ad-ons, listed in the price of the vehicle. He attempted to sell me the same thing twice. All of those packages can send the price of the car and the payment through the roof. With today's interest rates, it makes the car buying process treacherous. His wife called twice, only to hang up on him the second time, with one of the kids screaming in the background. He said he had five kids with another on the way in December. I kept saying no to everything he offered, except the oil change package, which he asked me to "at least buy" because the oil changes are so expensive. Once that process was over, I left at 10.PM. Unfortunately, there were three others behind me. Then today, (6.12.23) at 4:00, I received a call from Nick. He said he was having issues with getting the loan completed, so he needed to know if I could text a copy of my social security card. And I said no. Then he said it would be deleted from his phone. I said no. He asked if I was going through a divorce, and I said no. He asked for a passport and I said I didn't have one. I called Christina today, and explained the situation. She's currently out on bereavement but started the process of trying to find out what's going on with the loan. I am an experienced car buyer and I've never had to present my social security card to anyone. Furthermore, the Kia brand has some of the best vehicles out there today and I don't see the dealerships as a reflection of the current business model or image. The cars are very nice but the dealerships have to stop acting like second rate car dealers. There are some good videos on the vision of Kia and the future of where they're going. Unfortunately, the stores and the brand are polar opposites. And it's destroying the reputation of what they're doing. The five star rating is for Christina Dennis, not the finance department. She's made a longterm career selling cars, and takes her job seriously, with the customer as her focus. She reflects the brand and the product. Finally, nobody turns over their SSN to anyone, in the current times we live in and certainly not to buy a car. read more
