Hubby and I had run an important errand, and we were hungry and hankering for Peruvian food. So we asked Google for the nearest Peruvian restaurant, and it gave us this Cabo Blanco. The place is clean and inviting with a lovely dining room that seats at least 70. The AC seemed to be on the fritz on this hot summer day, but some sort of fan kept us from perspiring. We ordered the fish ceviche, the lomo saltado, and the pollo saltado. The fish in the ceviche was big chunks. I prefer my ceviche with nice, thinly sliced pieces that soak up the marinade. After a few bites, I was not interested in the appetizer anymore. Hubby didn't mind the chunks and polished off the rest. His lomo saltado was good. The beef was a tad overcooked but still tender. I forgot to ask that my onions be well done (allergic to raw onions and these were about 20% cooked); and on receiving my plate, I scooped all the onions and some gravy into a side dish and asked (in Spanish) that it be cooked again and well done. The waitress seemed puzzled, took the plate, and a few minutes later brought me back onions that were about 60% cooked (and I could eat them). I hurriedly combined them with my chicken and tomatoes and the sauce for a delectable gravy but was a bit disappointed because the chicken was dry. (I know chicken breast is preferred, but these kind of entrees really need boneless dark meat for that succulent texture.) Our server, Eliverkis (hope I spelled that correctly), barely spoke English but was extremely nice and even offered to take a photo of us. I was craving Peruvian food (my favorite cuisine) for dinner and decided to go to Cabo Blanco for the first time. Had a good impresion upon arrival with the cute decoration. We get to pick the table which we decided to take a high top table on the side to appreciate the whole restaurant. Our server (Elias) came right away welcoming us nicely. Ordered drinks (beers) and food (aji de gallina and pollo salteado). We got everything within 5 minutes and it was delicious. Definitely I'll come back to this restaurant and I recommend it. Food: Good as always. They need to be a little more creative and have more than 2 sauces for their fried dishes like a Jalea. Service: Not great. Servers not paying attention to the tables (refills, extra dishes to share, etc...) and they were constantly on their phones. Not to mention, they automatically add 15% tip regardless of the service you receive. Ambiance: Very uncomfortable. This was about my 5th time in the last year, and the A/C has still to be fixed. That's a shame, because an uncomfortable places doesn't make me want to return. This restaurant needs to step up their game. I decided to take a quick stop at Cabo Blanco for lunch with my mom. The Decore inside the location was quite surprising, definitely not what I was expecting. I had a nice trendy vibe, that you do not usually see in this type of strip malls. The service was a little off and... Granted it was during lunch rush, but the server did not come and greeter table till 10 minutes after, luckily we knew what we wanted and put our order in ASAP. Their lunch prices look very fair, but my mom and I opted to share their dinner Chaufa de Mariscos and cancha to get started. Being as how old this is our go to dish whenever we visit Peruvian restaurants, I will say that it was a little off from the usual. They are advertising $9.99 entrees all day long, but we ordered 2 things from that advertised menu and neither were the $9.99 that they are posting to their social media pages. Sending different sauces would be a nice touch with a $55+ order each time. Also, takeout packing needs to be improved. Order leaked all over the bag each time. Ordered Tres leches but sadly, didn't get to try. Instead received the Alfajor which is a very tasty cookie delicacy (at $2.75 for one, pretty expensive) but I guess this is standard. The ceviche pescado was delicious. Mixto was also very good. Fried yucca with the green sauce is a must! Overall, I would say it's good food, reasonably priced and it was a great option for us on Doordash. We've also gone to Bravo, which was very good as well and ordered from Koustine (pricey but good.) i 'discovered' Cabo Blanco by going to my eye doctor when the former was on Oakland Park Boulevard in a shopping center just west of Dixie Highway. A few years later they moved to their new location which wasn't as convenient as the old one but after going to the Regal Cinemas which was near 62nd street we would go to Cabo Blanco. When COVID hit we stopped going to the Regal theatres and Cabo Blanco staying closer to The Gateway and AMC Coral Ridge theatres. There wasn't any movie we wanted to see and had Friday free so we decided to take the 7-mile trip there from my place and I am so glad we did. The restaurant is as good as ever. At lunchtime they serve a cup of fresh chicken soup--watch for the bones!--and I had the number 26! They have gone up a little in price but it still was loaded with Shrimp and fresh-cut vegetables, piled high on the pasta and was as delicious as ever! We ordered the " Tallarin Saltado De Carne " Seared Steak Tid Bits / Onions / Tomatoes / Served Over Linguini DELICIOUS! The linguini is amazing! It's coated with this oily sauce that has the consistency of soy sauce almost so it's not too heavy. The onions and tomatoes were perfectly cooked. They had a lot of flavor for sure. The steak was very good as well! The serving size is huuugggeee so I had a lot left over to take home. The prices here are great. I had a restaurant.com voucher so I decided to give this place a try on a Saturday night. When I arrived at 7:30pm there were two other tables being served. For awhile I was the only customer. At 8:30pm it was 30% full. The waitress was very friendly and explained the dishes very well. The menu also has pictures of some entrees. They bring you Cuban bread and pepper sauces for dipping. The green sauce is jalapeno and is extremely hot! The yellow pepper sauce is mixed with mayo so it isn't as spicy. I ordered the cheesy linguini, chicken breast, and red beans. (Tallarin a la hauncaino de pollo) This meal was delicious. The chicken was well flavored and very juicy. Since I had to spend $15, I also ordered a meal to go. (aji de gallina). It was very good with the shredded chicken, potato and creamy sauce. It came with choices of sides and I chose rice and black beans. I also had a dessert that I purchased at the register on the way out. It was two buttery cookies with a caramel filling. It was very good and cost $2.50. There is plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant in the strip mall's parking lot. The restaurant is large and the menu offers a variety of entrees. Searching through Yelp with a craving for Ceviche I found myself here at Cabo Blanco Seafood Restaurant for lunch. Super happy to find out that they have a great selection of ceviche. I went around 2pm with my Dad for lunch (thank you thanksgiving break). The restaurant was pretty empty but what can you expect in the afternoon on a Monday. We were greeted in Spanish and they realized we only spoke English so our waitress kept the Spanglish to a minimum lol. We ordered waters, Inca Kola and a Mango juice with pulp to start. Our waitress was attentive as can be. We immediately spotted the ceviche "appetizers" (the sizes could essentially be entree size for those who don't like overly huge portions). We decided on the class mix ceviche with shrimp and fish. We also each ordered a lunch special. My dad ordered a sautéed fish with tomatoes and onions and I got pork chips with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains. I wish there were words to describe how full I am. The reason I am giving this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is because after all the great service and generous portions of delicious food, I decided to use the restroom before leaving and it was very gross. Came here for lunch on break from work. I'm not too familiar with the restaurants in this area so I am trying to get acquainted with what's around here. Today I stopped into Cabo Blanco. It's located in a pretty old looking plaza, when I came in there was a decent amount of business (looked like people on break from work too) I sat down and was greeted immediately. Service seems attentive and friendly, very large menu with some decent lunch specials on the menu. You get bread to start. Pretty basic. I ordered the Tallarin Verde with a 1/4 chicken piece. It was ok, and just that. The Tallarin (which is basically pesto) tasted very strong and had a bitter taste almost like licorice. It was pretty one dimensional in flavor. The chicken was ok, skin was a little over-cooked and the meat was dry. I ordered dark meat too so it should've been moister. The good part was that my meal was incredibly cheap and they give you a lot of food!!! I barely finished it. The waitress brought a salad next, but his meal usually comes with rice and black beans. He has had this many times there and questioned it, but the waitresses although kind seemed clueless. Can you go lower than one star? Because I wouldn't even rate them 1 star. When we sat down there were only 2 other people inside so you'd figure the service would be good. Nope Particularly after a large party arrived. They never checked on us once and in order to pay our check even after trying to get their attention we finally just went up to pay our check. But wait because we used a groupon we can't use a credit card to pay our bill because it was less than 10.00. So across the street to 7-11 I go. As to the food my wife had grilled chicken that she said was pretty good. I just wish I could have said the same about my pork. Extremely dry like it had been cooked earlier and left out all day. The sides served with each dish weren't much better. Not ice cold but definitely should have been warmer. My friends (Peter and German) found this place and wanted us to check it out, on their recommendation. And I'm glad we did. To start with, Frank was coming with us. Now Frank can be a bit particular when it comes to food but when he saw that they had veal hearts on the menu, he was sold. I won't get into why anyone would eat veal heart, but Frank and his husband love them. They ordered that as their appetizer and I was amazed when I saw how much of it they got. I guess all beef hearts in the South Florida area come to Cabo Blanco so they have plenty. Frank told me that if it's not cooked properly it will have the consistency of shoe leather. This was as moist and tender as it could possibly be. I don't eat red meat as a rule but I did have a taste of it and even I enjoyed it. I'm a seafood lover but the list of choices was daunting. When the manager came over, I asked him what would be authentic Peruvian and he named something that sounded like "Seafood Macho," but I could be wrong. Anyway, I ordered it. Other friends had ceviche and others tried other dishes off the menu. They start with bread and spicy sauces for the bread, which were delicious. I like hot spices so this suited me just fine. If you don't like it hot, ask for something milder. They might have ketchup or something. Anyway, the bread was good and we all enjoyed it. The appetizers came next and everyone loved what they ordered. I generally don't get an appetizer because I don't eat that much and I wanted to save room for the entree. There was no way I was ever going to finish the amount of food that they put down in front of me. It had shrimp, calamari, mussels and I believe a few other tidbits all served over a fish fillet and in a sauce that was out of this world. I was quite happy with the recommendation. She was on top of things, I had a couple questions as far as what some items were, she took her time explaining everything . This is a Latin restaurant but dishes are mainly Peruvian, but there is a nice variety of latin staples such a cuban food for those who don't like Peruvian cuisine . I ordered pollo a la criolla. The chicken was amazing! Not only the sauce was delicious, but the chicken was seasoned and marinated as well. I really appreciated that. I cannot tell you how many restaurants rely on sauces to flavor the meat! not in this case. Hubby had the churrasco. He loved it. It looked amazing. I was also impressed by the size of the portions. I was surprised at the size of Cabo Blanco. Upon entering you find a bigger restaurant than you'd initially think, having excellent, quick, helpful attentive service. The food portions are large and, for another surprise, the wine glass comes full; all at not only a reasonable but a seemingly bargain price. It bills its cuisine as Peruvian/Cuban, but from what I had and saw others having, the food has a distinct Peruvian bias to it. Those large sized kernels of Peruvian corn on what would otherwise be a Cuban dish are somewhat of a hint. The menu is exhaustingly extensive, far larger than found in most restaurants of such size and there are pictures of their servings on the wall together with pricing to assist you in ordering. I could easily go four stars for Cabo Blanco with its neat, clean interior and friendly well run operation, but found the flavor and taste of the food not up to the standards of the similar Peruvian restaurants; lacking in balance. As an example, I ordered the Ceviche Mixto which came as a good sized portion containing fish, octopus, squid and plenty of shrimp top with onion topping and what I think was a delicious yam side. I was asked how I wanted it prepared, being mild, spicy or hot. I ordered mild and it came mild, however the strength of the citrus used to chemically cook the ingredients was overwhelming, even overwhelming enough and so pungent as to practically pickle my tongue and mouth, with the more resultant fact of overwhelming any of the flavors of the main ingredients of the dish. My wife purchase a group on for this restaurant that is close to my office. I am glad she did. I have driven by the plaza many time but never notice the place. The place has a simple but nice set up with white tables and chairs and large glass windows that look out to the parking lot. A white theme bar and about 5 TVs hanging on the walls. They play Latin music. The lunch menu has one the largest selection I have seen anywhere. Items in the lunch menu range from $5-10. The lunch special are also available during the weekend, which was a welcome surprise. Upon sitting down they bring 3 salsas to the table. The green one is a bit spicy. The white one is creamy. The yellow one appears to be currie based. Service is friendly and for the most part expeditions. Since my first visit a few weeks ago i have returned several time.
