This place by far hands-down has the best food. I got the chicken Marcella, yellow rice and red beans and my partner got tilapia with black beans and yellow rice phenomenal I mean I can't say anything, but it is the most delectable delicious yummy yummy in my tummy meal, I actually inhaled it. I ate it so fast I couldn't stop from eating it cause it was so yummy. Anyways, the staff is amazing. I didn't have to wait for anything and even when I finished my meal, she was ready to help me out and the portion was gigantic. So I recommend this place to anyone who will come enjoy the pictures.

Price : 5/5 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 My husband and I are of south asian descent and this is our first time trying dominican cuisine. We ordered limon chicken with yellow rice and fried plantains and a grilled chicken cesar salad. Food was excellent. Very tasty. Felt like my mom's home cooked food with love . I am definitely going back to try different dishes next time.

called at 11am for 17 lunch specials for my staff and they were able to accommodate. They were so nice! Lunch specials are really affordable. They include rice beans and plantations. The chicken was HUGE and tasted delicious. The pork and steak were okay.. The rice had a lot of flavor and the beans were thick and tasty! There was at least 2 cups of rice in my to go box. There was a ton of food, far too much for me but I'm grateful for the portion and extra lunch tomorrow. I was really surprised that they were able to accommodate us and deliver all 17 meals within the hour. I would recommend trying this place for some authentic Cuban cuisine

Since venturing out to restaurants I decided to try more small mom and pop's spots and small businesses. I had Salt & Pepper Chef in my bookmarks for some time so why not? We were the only guests there all throughout (I liked that) Tables were very spaced out. I would say they are running at 40% capacity. The menu is well varied. They have a lot of Latin staples, such as Mofongo, Lomo Saltado, Mangu, and even some Italian dishes, Chicken Piccata and others. The wait staff was wearing mask and she actually stood 6 feet away from our table when talking our order. She was very helpful as well. We ordered queso frito (I haven't seen this in restaurants a lot) it was delicious. I also ordered a glass of their house Chianti, they serve Italian wine. It was actually quite good. They don't have a wine list by any means, just house varietals. I ordered salmon as recommended by our server, it came with choice of three sides. I got tostones, moro de guandules and salad. Everything was good, the fish was perfectly cooked but it lacked seasoning flavor, I like well seasoned food. I just wish it had some sort of seasoning to it, but with a squirt of lime juice and salt it was perfectly fine. My husband got Mofongo with pork chicharron, he liked it a lot. One thing I didn't care for, but I do get why they do it, is the use of plastic plates and cutlery. It feels a little food court rather than a sit down establishment. That's just me being picky though. The also have, and this is a plus for me, a Pokestop (LOL) yeah, I still play PokémonGo so I was able to eat and play at the same tome. I thought it worth to mention, there are a lot of us (nerds) out there. Overall a nice place. I will certainly come back!

This place is In a strip mall hidden by palm trees. We were initially looking for something else but decided to give Salt & Pepper a try! It was an off time, in between lunch and dinner, but they were very accommodating. The menu isn't any spectacular, but it's hard to say. There aren't any descriptions or pictures, so you have to ask about everything or take a chance. I got the stew beef but they made it seem like it was just the beef, since you got to choose two sides. I didn't know it would come like traditional beef stew. I ordered mashed potatoes and white rice, AND it came with the stew potatoes and carrots. The cubano cheese appetizer was the best part of our entire meal. It was absolutely delicious! Everything else was good, but kind of got forgotten about after one more table came in. So, 3 stars it is!

As my uncle said when I sent him a picture of my roast pork dish, it's not much to look at. But DAMN was it good. And a huge portion. I couldn't even finish of the pork, rice, and beans and was able to have the rest as a second meal later that day. Staff was friendly and I decided to get a cortadito on the way out the door. Super cheap for the quantity of food you get!

Fried pork chops with fried yucca and plantain!!!!! Absolutely perfect!!!

While this place doesn't have the greatest curb appeal, the food, the service and the prices are all 5 stars! Food was seasoned to perfection and properly cooked, the fresh squeezed lemonade very tasty with just the right amount of sugar. The empanadas were large enough that a couple of them could be an entree on their own. Everything was reasonably price and delicious . Service was prompt and courteous.

Food had no flavor. Sweet plantains were frozen in the middle. Means not fresh! Sent them back. Same ones we sent back, were brought to us cooked. That is cross contamination.Tostones were previously frozen. Very chewy. Rice wasn't even good. Was disappointed in everything. Don't waste your money or time

This is a review for a delivery order. I was at my favorite watering hole on a thirsty Thursday evening and in the mood for something tasty so I pulled out my phone, got on the YELP app and found Salt & Pepper Chef. Placing the order was pretty simple. Grubhub would be delivering it and I would get it in 40-50 minutes. This was my order: Order #632803938702181 From Salt & Pepper Chef (954) 969-1646 1280 S Powerline Rd Pompano Beach, FL 33069 Your Info Kerry B Scheduled for ASAP Estimated delivery time 40-50 minutes Order details Item Qty Price Cuban-Style Shredded Beef 1 $10.00 Fried Dominican Cheese 1 $4.00 Mariquitas Tostones Rellenos 1 $5.00 Avocado Salad 1 $5.50 Subtotal $24.50 Tax $1.47 Tip $2.45 Delivery Charge $1.99 Total $30.41 So there are a few things to keep in mind with this order. The first thing is on the app it says delivery charge $0. As you can see they charged $1.99. And, that was really not a problem. The Cuban Style beef came with rice and beans. The beans were a little bland, but still good and the beef could have spent a little more time in the pot. Still had good flavor. It was yummy. The Fried Dominican Cheese was FIRE... super good. It was the best part of the meal. It was two slices of fried farmers cheese. Absolutely delicious and the only reason I gave this establishment 2 stars. The Avocado in the salad was perfectly ripe, but the salad itself was below average. I could have gotten away with a side of avocado and been more satisfied. And finally, the Mariquitas Tostones Rellenos... the description on the app said stuffed tostones. What I received were long plantain chips with garlic sauce on the side. My reaction was HUH???? So I called the restaurant and the woman who answered told me there was something wrong with the app and that that item was $10, not $5. I told her I would have rather paid more and gotten what I ordered. Her response was "sorry." No, we will fix the problem or here's your money back, or anything else. Just "sorry." From reading some of the other reviews about this restaurant, seems like the bait and switch is a common practice. In any case, my suggestion would be if you are going to eat here, ask specific questions about the menu, pricing and exactly what you will be receiving. Or STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

We were greeted and seated right away. The menu is extensive -- plus you can look at some of the dishes displayed in the cafeteria area. They do a lot of takeout and have numerous lunch specials. Shout out to Yelp elite Lisa H who came here. And caused me to bookmark the location. The restaurant is Latin. It's a mix of country cuisines. Mexican, Cuban, Colombian, Honduran, Salvadoran, et al. My husband wasn't that hungry and decided to just have a small chicken soup. The small soup turned out to be a huge meal! The soup was excellent -- a flavorful broth and packed with all sorts of veggies and chicken with a side of white rice and plantains. He was very happy. I'd been craving a cocktail de camarones after seeing a recent Instagram post. So I searched Yelp and this restaurant showed it on their menu. I was disappointed when we came in to no longer see it on their menu. However, after asking the server about it, the kitchen was happy to make it for me. It was a very big serving -- delicious and refreshing. There were two huge shrimp on the edge of the glass plus a large lettuce leaf. Inside there were chopped shrimp pieces along with chopped tomatoes and onions, all in a red (ketchup) based sauce. It's kind of a mix between gazpacho and ceviche. They served a fresh made tostada along side. And I used some of the taco chips as well. The different daily lunch specials sound wonderful as do their taco specials. Pricing is quite reasonable and portions are large. We'd definitely come back here!
