Love coming here for burritos. If you like Chipotle you will LOVE Cabo Bobs. They have freshly made to order tortillas in different flavor options. Many different types of meats including my favorite, crispy fish. They have a lot of different hot sauce options as well and fountain drinks you won't find anywhere else. Truly a hidden gem. I usually split a burrito bowl with my wife and we both end up full and satisfied, so you know the portions are huge! My favorite is the brisket and crispy fish with either the cilantro and tomatillo tortilla or smokey cheddar tortilla. The burritos and bowls are Always on point!! Customize it any way imaginable. But the secret are the Fish Tacos!! I mean you can get burrito pretty much anywhere in town, and that's great, but the fish tacos are the shizz here!! In general, fish tacos are kind of hard to find but if you're looking for them, come check out Cabo Bobs!! Everyday during lunch time they're always packed and I mean like really packed. But you know what they say, that's a Tell-Tell sign that they are really good!! Good luck getting your online order from this location. The staff consistently ignores the pickup area, leaving completed orders sitting out while they stay on their phones behind the counter. The online pickup line turns into a mess because no one bothers to monitor it or call out orders, especially during busy hours. It shouldn't take this much effort to retrieve a simple online order. read more

So I've heard that this is one of the best places to be when in the Austin/Houston area, so obviously, I had to make a stop and it was SO beyond worth it! My sister and I decided to build our own tacos. I got one crispy fish, and one brisket/steak. She got one crispy fish, one pork, and one steak. All of them were absolutely incredible! The fresh pressed tortillas really push them over the edge, along with all of the fresh toppings, and house made sauces! All of the proteins were so well seasoned! The steak and brisket were extremely tender and juicy and the crispy fish was crispy on the outside and perfectly flaky on the inside. The prices were also an absolute steal!! The fact that I was able to get two, HUGE, fully loaded tacos with unlimited toppings, a drink, a large order of guac and chips and queso for a little over $17 (including tip), IN THIS ECONOMY - is absolutely unreal!! Sidenote: They have their own line of fountain drinks and they are FANTASTIC!! I did a ginger ale + cherry limeade combo, and it was SO GOOD!! Cabo Bobs is everything chipotle wishes it could be. Cabo bobs is a favorite for me, but this location has let me down multiple times lately. I feel they might do better if they pause online orders during busy hours. Waited for almost 30 minutes to order at 2pm on a Tuesday, then mid way through the line they accidentally dumped my bowl trying to do too many things at once and had to start over. If you're looking for a burrito similar to what you find in Socal, come here. They have a good customizable menu (I recommend doing the curated menu first) plus a generous chips/guac/salsa/queso portions. All of it is delicious. I really enjoyed each time I've come here. Initially, I was excited to try this restaurant, but my experience was very overwhelming. Upon walking into the restaurant, everything was clean and I followed the the ropes to get in line. I let a gentleman ahead of me and he was very helpful on letting me know what they served as far as burritos, tacos, bowls, salads, etc., but I had no help from any employee. It seemed to be a lot going on behind the counter, and every employee that I came across was very unhelpful. It was more like they were trying to rush me through the line instead of telling me about the product I asked one girl about the meats and she just basically said that she didn't know like she doesn't eat there or something. I don't know that should've been my first warning. I was very excited to see the tortilla guy. I thought that was very cool, but as this is a burrito place I got nachos and was very disappointed. The cheese is very runny like water. The meat was nonexistent. It really didn't have any flavor other than the spicy sauce that I asked for that was kind of sweet and I did not like that. Some family members said to try this place out and I have to 1st state this is the 2nd time I have been to Cobo Bob's, I forgot to wrote a review the 1st time so I figure I get it out of the way now. 1st off Thank You, I love this style of food being served the way it is, fresh shells, you pick the items and they make it in front of you the way you like it, not some unknown disappointment from the back being brought out to you. That said, the shells were good, but I have stuffed my Taco's I guess and the big thing I warn you about it eat fast our by the time you get to the 2nd or 3rd Taco the bottom will fall out on you, I might ask for 2x shells next time since at this point you need a fork to eat it all. This time I picked 2 different meats, Chicken, steak and pork for each taco to see what was best, and I have to stick with Steak, even those my fav is a mixture of 50/50 steak and chicken. Over all pretty good, but again the chicken and pork was OK, steak was better, but I think the 1st time I got something the steak was chewy or something, I don't remember thus this review I am laying it out a head of time of what I got and so on. I would say, much better then a lot of places, but has room for improvement in the meat flavoring dept, otherwise prices are good and you will walk away happy. read more

I'll first start by saying this was initially going to be a negative review. I ordered a brisket queso burrito through Google maps online order. I intended to order from the rio grande location since I work close by. I had a hard time finding the location for my order so I called the number on my receipt. From there I asked if they have my order. Initially I was told this location did not have my order. I then called the rio grande location and they didn't have it either. But since I was close by I figured I would go inside and check. The manager at the Rio grande location was an absolute jerk. He didn't offer to help and all and told me to go back in line and wait to place my order. I left frustrated and ready to never return to Cabo Bobs. Until I called this location and Melissa answered. She was so compassionate and understanding of my situation and helped me out and made sure my food was ready and I was taken care of. Kudos to the team at the Shoal Creek location and to Melissa for an exceptional job. I'll drive to this location out of my way now to pick up my food. I almost vowed to boycott this company and tell my colleagues and family to do the same. I'm shocked at how different the levels of customer service can be from one location to the next. Cabo Bob's is one of my local Austin favorites. High quality and a variety of ingredients to make good food. I personally think it's way better than Chipotle. You can get a variety of dishes from burrito bowls, burritos, salads, quesadillas, and nachos!!! The burritos are the size of a baby's head. Another great part about Cabo Bob's is they have a variety of tortillas: flour, smoky cheddar, ancho chili, and cilantro tomatillo. I'm fan of them all but smokey cheddar is probs my favorite. They also cook the tortillas fresh in front of you. All the ingredients are fresh and made on site. Their proteins are flavorful from the usuals chicken, steak, pork. They also have more unique ones like brisket and fried fish. I love the fried fish tacos or burritos. My go to order is a surf and turf burrito. Smoky cheddar tortilla, steak and fried fish loaded with all the veggies. Pro tip you can get half orders of certain proteins if you want a variety. Cabo Bob's does it well. Better than I expected! This place ran like a well oiled machine. Got a bit discouraged when I walked in and saw the line but it moved so fast because the servers were just that fast. They thought of everything! The neatest thing was being that alot of the servers are Spanish speaking, so they have the ingredients on the glass for you to point to as a form of communication. The food was hot, fresh and very well seasoned. Straight up delicious! There was plenty of seating whether you wanted outdoor or indoor and the restaurant was very clean, neat, and organized despite the huge crowd of people. Omg I LOVE a Cabo Bob burrito! They are DENSELY packed and the meat is really flavorful. The tortillas are really soft but they hold the food in well. This place is my favorite burrito place in Austin. It's cheaper than anywhere else and bigger than anywhere else. $10.99 get you a chicken burrito the size of a brand new bouncing baby boy!!!! I always get extra white rice, extra black beans, grilled onions, queso, lettuce, pico, jalapeno, cilantro, sour cream, shredded cheese, and ancho-Rancho sauce. So my kids really like this place and I wondered what it was all about. I tried it and I can tell you I will not be going back to Chipotle. This is MUCH better. The service is so fast even though the lines are long sometimes, they are moving fast. The tortilla options are awesome and meat or veggie selections are so good. The food is always cooked really well and now I see quesadillas being made. The drink varieties are so good with pure cane sugar and tacos are a perfect portion for me. I just told my daughter that it's a good thing we are 8 minute away and not 2 minutes away or we'd be there much too often. My kids also see a friend or 2 there every time we go. I hear that Cabo's has become the catering of choice for home parties. I am definitely going to look into that now. read more

I came on a weekday for lunch and was surprised to see how many people were here! It must be located near offices. There was a line, but it moved fast. I asked for a fried fish burrito which is on their menu as a suggested item and delicious every time. The workers were moving so fast like a well oiled machine. Just as they scooped white rice on the tortilla I told them I wanted brown rice - so they threw away the tortilla and white rice I'm glad for the detail and honoring what I want, but I was a bit sad for unloved, warm tortilla and waste of food. I been coming to Cabo bobs for a while now. I come to this location and the one on 183. Very consistent food and very similar service. I prefer Cabo bobs over chipotle any given day. Chipotle is actually crap version of Cabo bobs. This is always been my go to lunch spot especially the one on shoal creek. Best part of cabins is that we have way more options than chipotle. Their fish burrito is fire. I usually get a chicken bowl with bunch of toppings along with a green tortilla. Interior of this place is very fast casual laid back. Line moves super quick and food is out quick. Good is super fresh and service is always top notch. No matter which location I go to, service is on point. Great place to grab good Mexican food with lots of options for salsa's and condiments. read more

I arrived at Cabo Bob's with my family and was amazed by the ambience and scenery. I have never been to Cabo Bob's before, as I am not a Texas resident. Everything on the menu looked absolutely exquisite. I decided to go with tacos so I could try the different flavored tortillas, as well as try three different meats. I was delighted by the staff and their friendliness and patience as I navigated through all of the scrumptious options. Each bite of food was a journey to heaven and back. I kid you not, I have never experienced something so exceptional, and for such a reasonable price. I may have to move to Austin so I can eat this deliciousness on a more regular basis. My GO TO for quick, easy, good, affordable meal. ALSO, if you are a 1st responder/uniform medical worker, they currently do 40% off! My favorite meat option is the fish, they make it so crispy and smooth at the same time. They also give you lots of food, so if I am good at portion control, I can make it 2 meals! They are always so generous with the portions - they'll pack your box with all the veggies you want! This restaurant has a fun vibe. There's a stead buzz of dinners talking and the exchange of staff with dinners getting their meals in the line. The variety of tortillas and protein offerings give a good chance everyone in your party will find something they like. We tried the chicken tacos on flour tortillas and they were awesome! The chicken was tender and seasoned well. We also has the fish tacos, which tasted ok, but were underwhelming.  The corn tortillas they were on were great though. With both tacos we had different vegetables and found them to be fresh. Would like to comment the 3 taco meal was too much food for my male companion who had a big appetite (I could only get thru 1.5). It's A LOT of food. Our only true disappointment were the tortilla chips. Very unappetizing to us. We threw them out. The queso, on the other hand, was really good. I'm torn here on my rating. I think you get a lot of food for the price you pay. The service was pretty good and, of course, fast. I did like the red sauce. It was tangy and flavorable. I ordered the #5, and I didn't particularly like the tortilla. It was huge and it fell apart easily. Perhaps if I had gotten a bowl, my opinion may have differed. However, the ingredients were good. I ordered the #2 which is three fish tacos with tomatillo, chipotle crema, mango Pico de Gallo, guacamole, cheese, shredded cabbage and lime. The fish tacos were made with quality pieces of fish. *Quality fish and a stellar salsa bar can elevate most fish tacos to greatness, but a dry or bland batter can also be its undoing, but this was not the case here. The crema on these fish tacos really bond all of the ingredients and flavors together. This dish is a winner in flavor and freshness, and I love that it's a healthy. I also ordered a side of chips which were not at the same standard of the tacos (sad face). If you are in the area, this place is worth a try if you can manage to get into the parking lot from the chaotic street traffic. read more
