Checking hammerhead sharks off the bucket list!
    Greg D.

We booked 5 days of diving (2 tanks per day) with this crew and were blown away! It was by far the best diving experience we have had in Cabo San Lucas, and the team was both generous and professional. We had our own personal dive master Juanito Montoya) for the two of us who not only took care of all our needs and concerns, but took some amazing footage of our dives to add to our own. Having our own dive master allowed us to take advantage of our Advanced Open Water certification and dive deeper and separately from the other groups on the same boat/location. This made it very personable, and having the same dive master on all of our dives made everything more comfortable. My partner sometimes has equalization issues, so we were able to descend at our own pace when the situation occurred, and not worry about keeping up with the group. We also saw the largest dolphin pod we have ever seen, and the crew & captain let us hang out with them as we floated along sides with dolphins as far as the eye could see in every direction. We got to check off seeing Hammerhead sharks from our bucket list too! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Choose this team for your diving experience and you will not be disappointed.

Excellent Service and Diving Experience!!! If I could leave more than 5-stars, I would. David our dive guide, Peppe the photographer and our captain were all top notch. We dove with CPD 4 days in Cabo Pulmo then three days in Cabo San Lucas. Our diving experience was well planned and the personal attention of the dive guide and office staff was superior. I highly recommend their services to anyone planning to dive while in town. Our entire experience was great! Loved the photos and video sent to us after diving - will certainly dive with CPD again upon a return to Cabo! Thank you for a great experience!

Best dive guides in Cabo! This was my first time diving with Laura and her crew but have snorkeled before and my bestie has used her a few times in the past. Overall communication was excellent and all questions were answered. I was extremely impressed on how safe and comfortable they made us feel with each dive. We dove with Felipe for 2 days with 6 dives and appreciated how patient he was. We did a day trip to Cabo Pulmo with Antonio and brought along the photographer Pepe. They provided snacks and drinks and overall we had a great time on the trip! Will always dive with this shop and HIGHLY recommend them! Thank you for such an amazing dive vacation!

The only company to dive with in Cabo San Lucas! I was lucky to have 2 private x2 tank dives over the course of 2 days with Dive Master Jonatan. He was super professional and knowledgeable. We dove Lands End, Pelican rock, Blow Hole and Whale's Head. We saw lots of awesome sea life: eels, sting rays, puffer fish, grouper, guitar sharks, sting rays, sea turtles, whales, etc! I would highly recommend this place over the large PADI resorts. The staff is super friendly and fun!

Ophelia and David are fantastic! I have a bit of anxiety with snorkeling and Ophelia helped me find confidence and stayed with me to make sure I was completely comfortable! David was the diving guide my best friend had (she's fairly new to diving). David was wonderful with her and she truly enjoyed her dive! I highly recommend this group for your diving & snorkeling adventures!

We reached out to quite a few local dive shops before booking our dives in Cabo. My partner and I are both AOW certified and had about 45 dives completed, but we've always prioritized diving with the right people as we get more practice as divers. I always try to find a highly recommended tour operator when it comes to diving -- going with someone who is experienced and puts guests' safety first is of utmost important when it comes to scuba diving. Through the Girls That Scuba group, we found Laura, who owns and operates Cabo Private Guide. A few months prior to our trip, we discussed via email the best options for our three day dive itinerary based on what we wanted to see and our experience and skill level. Communication was really easy and clear and I love being able to work out all of the details of a trip over email before we head out! Laura was very transparent with us from the beginning and managed our expectations for what we should expect diving Cabo in March. It's not peak season for the best visibility or large animal encounters, but we always prefer to know what to expect rather than be overpromised something we may not get to see. Over the course of our three day dive trip, we were lucky enough to basically have our own private boat and guide, Adrian, who briefed us on every dive site, pointed out animals to us underwater, and took videos for us to keep! Our original day 1 plan was to dive Cabo Pulmo, but because the conditions weren't favorable, we decided to stay local and dive two sites just off the coast of Cabo San Lucas. Again, appreciated the transparent communication from Laura to give us the best experience. Once she found out about the conditions in Cabo Pulmo, she emailed us and gave us options to alter our itinerary! Although on land it was quite warm, between 70-80°F, the water temperature was quite cool. 68°F at the surface and much cooler as you dive deeper. We ended up diving in 5 mm wetsuits and hoods -- crucial for staying warm! I even added a shortie on top of my wetsuit since I tend to get really cold. For Day 2, we were able to drive up to Cabo Pulmo to do the dives there. Adrian, our guide, gave us a really great background on the area and how it changed from a fishing village to eco-tourism to protect the marine ecosystem. What we saw in Cabo Pulmo was amazing. Huge schools of fish -- LARGE fish too! We got SUPER lucky on our first dive of the day. A school of cownose rays swam right past us as we were floating along the dive site. I nearly cried into my mask as I saw them glide by. We'd seen mantas and eagle rays in Komodo but never a school this huge! Along with the rays, we saw two huge sea turtles, schools of snappers, leopard groupers, broomstail groups, guitarfish, and moray eels, too! Both of our dives at Cabo Pulmo were super easy and peaceful, and it's now topped my list as an area we have to come back to in the future. Our last day, we dived Gordo Banks. This is an advanced dive and was probably the most difficult dive I've ever done. Laura and team require divers to go on another dive first before taking you out to Gordo Banks so they can evaluate whether your skill level is appropriate for this dive. Gordo Banks is a difficult dive because it's deep. We went down to the max depth allowed as AOW divers where there was little light, poor visibility, and you could barely see the reef below you. On our first dive, we heard the loud singing of one or two humpback whales. Although we couldn't see any whales due to the poor visibility, our guide thinks they were no more than 500 yards way from us based on how loud the singing was. It was an otherworldly experience I will never forget! On our second dive, we were able to see the reef below us and were surrounded by a school of snappers. I watched a yellowfin tuna hunt the school of snappers... truly amazing to see these predators on the hunt! The last part of our dive we saw a scalloped hammerhead's silhouette appear from the distance. We swam alongside it for a good minute before it disappeared into the darkness. Gordo Banks is great for chances to see pelagic creatures! Overall it seems like we got lucky on our 6 dives with Cabo Private Guide, but Laura and Adrian worked hard to give us the best experience and made us feel super comfortable and safe. We will definitely come back to dive with them again the next time we're in Cabo. You can easily book dive excursions with Laura's team on their website and I highly recommend diving with them if you're in the Cabo area. If you're not into diving but still want to encounter some sea creatures, they can also take you whale watching, snorkeling, and even swimming with whale sharks (we did this in Isla Mujeres and HIGHLY recommend it)!

What more can I say this is a top-notch five star operation. I started diving with these guys two years ago in 2019 and I finally made it back here two years later post Covid. In those two years this operation has just continue to grow but grow in a good conservative and sustainable way. They continue to have a focus on small group chores that are sustainable and low impact on the environment. Laura and her team are top-notch Phillipe is an amazing guide. I had the pleasure of diving with Phillipe two days one at Cabo promo and the other day in the bay at lands end.

Hence I would have given 4 stars because of this. I was expecting a much better informative tour with the marine biologist. However, in general, she didn't cut short our time and they did speed a long to various areas whenever we saw a spout of water blow up. And, in general, had a great time seeing e humpback whales- we saw one full breach too. I think we may have seen about 20 in January 2026. I heard Cabo is the best place to see the humpback whales and from December through March. I would reccomend the blow up boats as you can get much closer. We were in a small boat with about 8 people but I saw videos of people in the blow up boats that could actually touch the whales if they wanted to. Would have liked this better I think. Also, we forgot our water bottle in the boat afterwards and the company was very customer service oriented in helping us restrict the water bottle. Thank you for a great first time experience in Cabo and seeing humpback whales!

The tour was good, we didn't even need to take photos because Victoria had a giant camera to do it for us. This way, we can really enjoy the natural settings of the Whale habitat. Towards the end of our tour, we were able to see 8 whales swimming together. Victoria said there are 7 are males chasing 1 female to see who would end up 'dating' her, aka - put a baby in her. Mating season was in the air and we got to see that. Best excursion ever! Private small tour. I'm happy to say, they followed sealife protocol and didn't get too close to harm the whales and there were only a few boats out for whale watching. It didn't feel commercial.

They helped orient us to the e-bikes and helped us when we were having trouble staying steady on the bikes, especially on the loose sand. We also did a second tour the next day with the camel experience. It was very nice. We got to take pics with the camels and take a ride on them to the beach. After both excursions we had a Mexican lunch that consisted of mole chicken, ribs, rice, beans, salad, veggies, watermelon, fries, fried chicken tenders, cheese tortillas, beer, margaritas, tamarind water and hibiscus tea. At the end of the e-bikes we had a brief tequila making session at the end with tastings of tequila. After the camel experience we got a tutorial on how to make a corn tortilla like they did back in the day and tequila tastings. We got a chance to buy pics but it was super expensive. The first day we paid $60 to get pics and a video of the excursion. Today we paid more than 3 times that amount for pictures and video after the camel excursion. I asked why and they said it was a different event so the prices differed. If pics were not expensive as they were, I'd say this was a top tier event. The tour guides, food, drinks and experience were awesome!

The company Cabo Adventures is a total scam and preys on vulnerable families. I will NEVER use them again for any other activity despite us coming to Cabo every year. I encourage every one from Yelp not to use them as well. Each ticket cost over $200 per person to be part of a group dolphin experience. This is not even private. A child MUST be accompanied by an adult so that forces more people to join. You think after spending over $800 for 4 people they would treat us like royalty right? WRONG. They do not mention any photo pricing online because they don't want to scare you away before you purchase your tickets. But let me tell you, it's an all or nothing photo package (you cannot pick a few or buy per picture) and it was over $500!!!!!! The b*tch working at the photo center must get off on making kids cry because when you call her out on the ridiculous prices, she shuts off the computer, takes her booklet, and says "ok good bye, there's the door". They do not negotiate at all because they know you have no other option. It's truly heartless. How insulting after we just spent $800 just on the tickets for a 30 min SHARED experience. They allow observers who are not doing the dolphin experience but they conveniently put them far away from where the dolphins are so it's impossible for them to take any pictures or video. Note: females you are NOT allowed to have anything in your hair such as hair ties or clips which there is no mention online or even when you check in. They don't give a reason why and it really sucked because the day we went it was super windy and our hair went everywhere ruining a lot of the photos plus making it hard to see in the water with hair in your face. My poor daughter had to take out her cute braids :/ Many other great and reasonable experiences. Go elsewhere and do NOT support Cabo adventures. Shame on you guys. UPDATE: I'd like to respond to the manager Lorena who tries to justify these ridiculous prices instead of listening to her customers' feedbacks and making adjustments. No, it's not optional to get the photos because what's the point of doing this experience if you do not have pictures to keep as memories? Yes, I understand there's safety regulations about not having cameras with us in the pool but forcing bystanders not in the pool to be over 100 ft away to take pictures which will be blurring, you leave us no choice but to purchase the photos. Nobody is asking for free photos but charging $500 is a scam. Even Disneyland only charges $80 for unlimited photos for a whole week! And respect gets respect. After spending over $800, YOUR employee is the one who was disrespectful to me first with her attitude about the price and not even trying to talk to your supervisor or work something out with me. Clearly, you only care about profit, not about customers leaving happy or having a good experience.

She arranged a two day trip for us to see the grey whales with their babies in the "Santuario de la Ballena Gris", and planned another day for us to swim with the whale sharks. She planned every detail. Communication was perfect and she is organized and prepared. A true professional, she was also so flexible about allowing us to decide how to spend our time, giving us plenty of ideas, and switching things around when we wanted to. She took care of all the transportation, permits, snacks and meals, boats and wonderful captains, wetsuits, equipment, Spanish translation, and lodging near the grey whale sanctuary. We learned so much from her and always felt safe and cared for. We were fortunate enough to observe caracaras, countless grey whales feeding and training their babies to prepare for their long migration, and herons and seabirds on our trip to the reserve. She had a long drive, but the experience was phenomenal. Then we had planned to see the whale sharks, planning the entire trip around the peak time for whale shark viewing -- but on the day of our trip, the whale shark refuge was closed (I believe because the previous winds had encouraged them to move 60 miles away to feed, something that was unprecedented). Although we expect they'll be back soon, we had to decide what to do with our last day with Karen. She had so many fantastic ideas and was able to pivot her plans, preparation, boat and captain to a custom-designed trip for us. She drove us to La Paz with a plan to take us out to swim with the sea lions at Espiritu Santo, part of a UNESCO world heritage site. But before we got to the snorkeling site, we were astonished to have two juvenile humpbacks repeatedly breaching out of the water in front of us. We were the only boat around and paused to peacefully observe their playful antics so close to us. We also got to see blue footed boobies and frigatebirds with their red breasts on our way to the site. Then to the sea lions. The pups were around 4 months old and many of their mothers were off fishing, so the pups hopped in the water with us to play as we snorkeled over the beautiful reef. Karen pointed out so much while we snorkeled together. It was an experience of a lifetime and we felt like we had so much time enjoying the pups; other boats were there but Karen guided us to an area where we felt like we could really enjoy the pups in solitude. They tugged on my fins and jumped on my back more than once. Back on the boat and on our way to our next stop, we paused to enjoy the playful dolphins checking us out. Peaceful and touching experience. Our final stop that day was Balandra Beach. We walked from the boat in the shallow clear turquoise water all the way to the sandy beach and enjoyed solitude at the beach, listed as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. When we returned to the boat, they had prepared a delicious fresh ceviche lunch that the captain had prepared. It was a perfect three days and we plan to return again to see the whale sharks! I cannot see any reason to enjoy this area with anyone else and highly recommend it. Definitely take some time from your Cabo or La Paz vacation to explore with Karen.

Knowing it's a 20 minute walk from the place where the cruise ship tender drops you off to the place where the tour boats dock, we decided to scout it out the night before. The email from the company instructed us to check in at the Roger's office ("kiosko 2") to ensure we got the correctly-fitting snorkeling gear, so we went looking for the office using a map from the Roger's website and Google maps. We tried inputting the exact address from the email and asking everyone we could find at Puerto Paraiso mall, but when we went to the alleged office location, nothing was there. As a last ditch effort, on the way out of the mall, we paused and asked a random guy at a booth with ads for tours (mind you, nowhere did it say Roger's on it)! This booth was NOT located in the same spot indicated in the map on the Roger's website. However, this guy was somehow able to look up our reservation, and it was legit because he knew my name even though I never said it. He told us to just meet at the dock the next day - not to even worry about going to the "office" (wherever it may be). So that's what I would advise any future travelers to do - just go to Dock D, which isn't hard to find. Ahead of time, I had emailed the company and asked if I could add additional people to our tour and how to pay for them. I received a response indicating we would need to pay 35 per person and they could either send me a PayPal account to put the money in, or we could pay at the dock. When we got on the boat, we inquired about the two extra people and were told to pay 40 dollars. Thankfully I had the email from the company and I disputed this. I was given a roundabout explanation about how the corporate office is somewhere else in Mexico and sometimes there's miscommunication. This felt like an attempt to con more money out of us, but to their credit, they did honor the emailed price. The tour itself was great. We had Jonathan as the guide and Memo as the boat driver. Jonathan had great English skills and was knowledgeable. Our kids got to drive the boat, which had them laughing hysterically. They also dropped a couple members of our party off to snorkel in a designated spot, and the snorkel gear they provided seemed nicer than the cheap stuff we brought. At the end, they offered to drop us off closer to the cruise ship to help us avoid the 20-minute walk, but said it would be a $2 dock fee per person. We did take them up on that, as we had small kids in the party and didn't want them to have to do the walk in the hot sun. They do take pictures during the tour and offer you the chance to buy them at the end. Technically this is mentioned on the website, so it's not surprising. However, I will note that they offered us a discount on the photos at the end if we left them a review - lowering the price from 80 to 50 dollars. So, take that into account when you read other reviews. We declined. I recall when I was researching tour options that some other customers had mentioned their tours being outsourced to other people. There is definitely something odd with the "company." It presents itself on its website like a small business and frequent references are made to "our boat." But when you get to the dock, nothing says "Roger's" - no signage, no uniforms, etc. There's also more than one boat - another party was checking in at the exact same time as we were with the same people. It's almost like they've been bought out by a bigger conglomerate of tour operators. Perhaps this explains the conflicting information in some spots (i.e., the email confirmation saying to check in early at an office but a guy at a random kiosk that doesn't say Roger's on it somehow having our reservation and telling us to just go to the dock). Overall, we enjoyed the tour itself, but the issues with finding the location and being asked to pay different fees than we were quoted were off-putting.

At this point, it was like what the heck. We're here now. And he didn't seem pushing whatsoever. Friendly was always a plus and got our attention. They up sale you with other add on, but we just wanted to do the boat ride to the arches. The price was good per person compared to what Expedia or what the hotels would have charged. It's better to get the rates when your actually there in town as they tend to be cheaper than booking through the hotel or site. He walked us to the docked, also there was a 1.00 per person fee for the dock entrance. Not sure if that really was the case or add on for gratuity as a sale. Either or, it was fine. First off, we had the whole boat to ourselves. Just us and the captain. Leaving the marina, water was nice but once you got out to open sea, the water got a bit choppy. Our boat tour of the arches was about 45 min or so. He took us along the arches to see pelican rock I believe, as well as lover beach. Snorkeling was also in the area and kayaking. We could have paid more if we wanted to be let off on the beach and be picked up Later. Obviously there was the arches, which was nice. Depending on the time of day, it does get pretty crowded with boat tours. The captain was sweet, explained the tour, joked around. All around cool guy. Also, there was a section of the boat that was clear so you could actually see the fishes down below. Plenty of picture perfect spot. Tour goes from the marina, towards the rocks, pelican rock. As well as where snorkeling are, lovers beach, the cave. Then arches, sea lion rock or something like that, around the arches to the Pacific Ocean side, divorced beach as he called it. Not sure if that's the real name of it. But swimming on that side was hazardous as current was pretty strong. You go around the rocks and return back to the marina. But the view are amazing. Nice to be on the Baja peninsula sea of Cortez where it meets the Pacific Ocean. Then going back you have the view of the beaches with all the hotel line along the water front. Sunset tours are popular as most people would want that perfect picture but as well as all the lights coming from the city. Overall experience was amazing. The tour was nice as we were the only one on the boat with the captain. It can get crowded with other people but if you can, just get your group on.

We paid $110 each for a 2.5 hour whale watching tour that included lunch and drinks thru out the trip. You also had to pay a $5 dock fee once you arrived. The ship is VERY clean and had at least six staff members constantly taking care of you- refilling drinks- they offered beer, tequila sunrise, pins coladas and such. They came around often for refills if you wanted- plus they had bottled water. They have very clean restrooms on board as well- like 4 stalls for each. We went out a couple miles and saw at LEAST 12 whales on this trip. So amazing. Captain Pepe did a ln excellent job of moving about to find them as well as turning the ship when needed to everyone could see. There's a max of 100 people allowed on board- I think we had about 65 on this weekday tour. The lunch was tasty and offered chicken or beef tacos with rice and beans. They also had a nacho bar with a nice pico, guacamole and hot sauce. They started lunch service at 11:30 and had everyone fed by noonish. They quiet the music when you're actively looking for whales and everyone participated watching and letting others know when they saw one. Big group effort!! It was a diverse crowd of many ages too so that was nice! They had us back exactly on time for us to ensure we were back to our ship on time. They were in good communication after we booked an ensured we knew where to go to board as well as answer any questions we had. We had a great day and I can highly recommend this tour company! NOTE- to those that posted a complaint that they weren't served drinks upon boarding before snorkeling- I believe that is a liability issue. I've never seen a tour provider allow you to drink before snorkeling only after. Just FYI
