Expect long waits. It's very Mexican environment but I'm sure it's open to everyone. Not Tex max at all. The staff only speaks Spanish. They have live mariachi which is a little loud. The food is very good. It's the best part about that place. They keep the bathrooms very clean. I saw a lady constantly cleaning the area. I saw pictures of this place, and I had to try it out. Whole coal roasted goat? I'm in. The restaurant itself was spacious and clean, and knowing it was our first time, the waiter was very welcoming and took the time to explain different menu items. My friend and I got a ribeye chicharron with guac appetizer and split a shoulder meat goat meat sampler. The appetizer was really good, and their guac portion was generous. No skimping on avocados there. The grilled goat meat itself was quite interesting. Meat was fresh and tender, and I could taste the yummy smokiness from roasting it over coal. It didn't have much seasoning from what i could tell, which I was fine with, but I think some people may find it bland? There were plenty of salsa to go along with it. Also, the pork fat refried beans was amazing and goes well with the goat. Overall, there are plenty of other steak options on the menu if you don't like goat. You have to be kidding me. It was dead for a weekday lunch yet they were blasting music so you could barely hear yourself. I can't remember how I heard about this place but was excited to try the goat (cabrito). They didn't have a ton of options regarding goat and everything said "MP" or market price. We order the should and leg dish expecting it to be $20-$30 which is what it should be - it was tasty but honestly not even that much meat. This is not the regular Mexican food restaurant with a menu full of texmex dishes. This is as close as you will get, to a real carne asada restaurant, from Monterrey, Mexico. You can find Cabrito, which is a traditional grilled baby goat from North east Mexico, and a variety of grilled meats, also traditional Monterrey dishes like asado de puerco, chile relleno, tostada siberia, enchiladas rojas (not the usual cheese covered taco). We tried the ceviche, and it was as tasteful as any seafood place from Monterrey, we also had ribeye tacos and cabrito tacos, everything was delicious, it was a saturday around 3pm, and they had maybe other 5 tables, beside us, so the service, and the food was fast. We will definitely come back, and if you are from Monterrey, and miss home, you have to come here, you will feel like eating back home. Prices are also very reasonable. read more

The cabrito is delicious! This is the authentic flavor of cabrito like the original "cabrito al pastor" from Monterrey, Mexico. The refried beans with "veneno" (venom) were very good too. Our waiter Jessica was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The best authentic Mexican food I've had north of the boarder hands down. I lived in Mexico for 13 years and traveled the entire republic with a favorite cuisine in all states, I loved always going for Cabrito when in Monterrey Nuevo León and this is the real deal the exactly the same and best cabrito you can get there in Monterrey, the salsas are awesome home made and delicious and the deserts were just as delicious. Service was good but the food was not that great. There was not much meat which I understand prizes are going up but for $100 I can't imagine not having decent portions. Got 2 plates one was the goat thigh and the goat meat with consome. No alcohol was consumed and we paid $100. Dallas has better places to choose from. read more

Love this place -- completely authentic and delicious We had a wonderful dinner at Cabritos Los Cavazos this week. The cabrito was truly amazing - tender, delicious and the condiments (four different salsas, jalapenos grilled to perfection and fresh tortillas) were truly among the best in Dallas. We talked to Miguel (the owner) and he is enthusiastic about presenting his guests with the best food and experience possible. I understand people may be complaining about the price but this isn't Tex-Mex -- it's a world class experience with the best quality meat. I can't wait to go back as it will definitely become one of our regular places now. My only suggestion would be to add a couple of nice malbecs or cabernets to the bar offering -- the cabrito is certainly worthy of a nice red wine! read more

This is not you're regular Tex-Mex restaurant. I believe this is a more authentic Mexican restaurant. When I first saw the menu I wanted to leave but decided to try it since I was already there. They actually have goats hanging you can view while eating. It's a little pricey for the food portions we received. The shrimp taco & ribeye taco plate cost $13 each. We received twos, not given enough shrimp; more like kid portions. The charro beans were more like bean soup but tasted really good. The rest of the food was just alright. The shrimp tacos were dry and the shells were hard at the top. Serve was fair. Got seated quickly but had to wait a while for waiter to help us. I will not be back. I went with my family yesterday. It was a Wednesday at 6PM so we almost had the place for ourselves and it was perfect because that is how we like it, quiet. We ordered the "queso flameado" (flamed cheese with chorizo) for appetizer and it arrived sizzling in a hot cast iron pan with homemade tortillas. Amazing! For dinner we ordered the "frijoles charros" (charro bean soup) and I must say they are as authentic as the ones you eat in any part of Mexico. We also ordered one whole kid goat for our table and Wow! The goat was amazing! I was born in Monterrey, Mexico and grew up eating "cabrito al pastor" (roasted goat), and the taste is the right one. Some people say the got is bland. Perhaps they were expecting a seasoned goat, however this goat is not seasoned. It's flavor is natural from the roasting process and is amazing. Also, the service was excellent. Veronica was our server and she was friendly, honest, and very personable. We are definitely coming back. read more

I should have realize when I drove in to the parking lot on a Friday evening and no other cars were around there was a reason. Once I sat and saw the gorgeous variety of menu items, I was excited. We were a party of 6 and couldn't wait to get our food. Then when we did, I was disappointed the Cabrito portion was mostly made up of the scanty amount meat and bones. It tasted bland, no flavor and was definitely not cooked on an open pit as seen displayed on there restaurant ad. The service was inadequate. I feel I have to comment, so others do not make the same mistake as I did, even as I read other unfavorable reviews. In most cases I would give anyone the benefit of the doubt, the restaurant could have a bad day. Well it appears they have bad day every day. Know before you go, read the customer reviews. Food was delicious. We ordered the Parillada as recommended by our server and it was absolutely delicious! The beef fajita was super soft and honestly some of the best fajita I've ever had. Chicken was really good and the shrimp was great! Beer was a little warm and that made a big impact on our Meals. Server Yaddir was super nice and made great recommendations! He did an excellent job even though he was the only server for most of the tables, management needs to work on adding more servers especially since he was running around trying to get everyone's food and drinks in a timely manner.
