This place has gone down the drain over the last six months. Not sure what happened but the quality of the food is worse. I used to eat here all the time because it was genuinely great but now I'm disgusted by the food. We came here looking for a convenient place to eat after an afternoon at the DMA. The high ceilings and chartreuse accents were inviting, and the service was welcoming. I decided on the milanesa de pollo after looking at some photos and my partner got the chicken enchiladas. We snacked on complimentary chips and salsa on the meantime. The milanesa de pollo was beautiful, with generous pieces of chicken, a smattering of charred corn, and a fresh arugula salad to alleviate some of the deep-fried guilt. Sadly the enchiladas were less enticing -- the tortilla wrap was kind of rubbery and the chicken was unseasoned and stringy. The service could also be more attentive, since we ran out of water for a bit. Not a bad choice if you're in the area, but maybe do some research beforehand on what people recommend. read more

I've always passed by this restaurant but I finally got the opportunity to try it out for myself. Me and my girls wanted a nice dinner with good margaritas and Miriam did not disappoint. Our server was quick and efficient and brought out our drinks first. The bar was a little backed due to National Margarita Day but we all started with the Tornado (frozen) which is topped with pomegranate flavored wine. For appetizers, we shared the queso with added chicken. I can honestly say this was my first time having queso verde (green cheese) but it was solid. The fresh homemade tortilla chips they provide each table, along with three different salsas, are appreciated. My favorite is the salsa verde. For the main course, I ordered the enchiladas Mar y tierra which consisted of chicken, steak and shrimp. It truly was enjoyable. The location is right across Klyde Warren and they have a parking garage next to the restaurant. They validate via valet. If you self park, I believe it is a charge. A beautiful restaurant full of energy and life. We popped in for dinner and sat at the bar. Carmen our bartender and server was attentive and gave excellent suggestions! The food and drinks were stellar! We started with the guacamole and it was simple perfection! For our entrees we had the 4 amigos tacos and the Oaxaca enchiladas. I would order each of the 4 tacos individually for a full meal because each taco was delicious. The enchiladas reminded us of the best Abuelita's home cooking elevated to match the environment. What a gem! This Mexican restaurant checks all the boxes -- nice atmosphere, modern design, and food that's both delicious and reasonably priced. For such a trendy spot, I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable the menu was (which helped make up for the paid parking garage nearby). I ended up with the short rib enchiladas, and wow... they did not disappoint! Generously filled with tender, flavorful meat and topped with a mild, savory sauce that had depth without the heat. I recently wrote an update for Miriam Cocina but we went again in July 2025 and I want to get my impressions on record. We went for dinner on Saturday and had (another) outstanding experience. What motivates this update is the carne asada. I have tried at a few restaurants--Meso Maya used to have a great asada before the quality deteriorated and we stopped going. The problem with carne asada is sometimes the restaurant uses poor quality beef or the cook does not prepare it properly. Not the case at Miriam. It was the best carne asada I ever had, and it will be my go-to from now on at Miriam. The beef was high quality, no gristle or fat at all. The beef was cooked perfectly. It was tender and smoky. It was simply unbelievably good. It sits on top of perfectly cooked onions and peppers. There is a delicious rice. The black beans were flavorful, not bland. There is a grilled Serrano pepper on the side which goes perfectly with the meat. In short, it was just about the perfect dish. The $27 price tag is worth every penny. I tried the Mexican Martini at Miriam for the first time and it was excellent ($15). Another new go-to is discovered. The wife had the appetizer platter and loved most of the things on it. The kid had quesadillas with fries and loved the fries (lol). I must say, they are super crunchy and addictive. Our server Michelle was efficient, professional, and friendly. We like Miriam because the food is consistently outstanding and we will be back for sure. The ambiance is attractive and the restrooms are always clean. Went on a day date with my husband and the food was fresh and delicious. I had the shrimp tacos, he had the Enchiladas Mar y Tierra, and we started with the chicken empanadas everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. My husband also ordered a traditional margarita and loved it. The only downside was the service. Our server brought out our food but never came back to check on us. We eventually had to ask another server for the check. When our server returned, he apologized and said he was going through something. This place is one of my favorites to eat and I'm not a Tex-Mex kind of person. Once in awhile we come and when we do service is always the best. This visit in particular was above and beyond. Paul, Kevin, Eddie and Carmen thank you so much for making things right, even though there wasn't really a problem. It was just a misunderstanding through the phone. Walked in with just my husband and daughter while we were waiting for our other friends and their two kids. So I can understand if the hostess thought it was only 3 of us dining. We waited a bit about an hour but that was ok for us as we had some cocktails. But Paul noticed our wait and did our best to communicate and accommodate us! Food is always good here. The appetizers are amazing. My daughter finished her whole plate of carne asada. The carne y papas is one of my favorites. Short rib enchiladas were completely devoured. Tres leches cake was good and not too sweet! We had a few more other dishes/appetizers; ceviche punta cana, bolitas de yuca (a good favorite), steak pirata, empanadas I haven't had a bad service here, even if it seemed like it was about to be.. it didn't! Tried here for my birthday brunch yesterday and my food was so good. I would go again. I got the steak and eggs and both were cooked to my desired temp. Service was quick and often. I was torn between a couple food options but opted for the steak and eggs. I ordered my steak medium well but many of the slices were cooked well, and I was not satisfied with how my eggs were cooked. I ordered scrambled easy but they came out hard and more fried than scrambled so I sent them back and received a much better version. The meal also came with potatoes which I found to be just alright, they could use some additional seasoning. We ordered the Puddin de Pan, Duo Verde, Alfredo's Carne Asada, Chicken Verde Enchiladas and Mexican Street Corn (Esquites). I would recommend everything we ordered, there wasn't a bad item - but I think the bread pudding would have been better if we had it in house and not for delivery. The food was so delicious we didn't have time to take pictures of most of it. The Chicken Verde Enchiladas were absolutely delicious, the sauce was savory and full of flavors and the chicken was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and super moist. It had corn and peppers inside too - definitely would recommend 10/10. This was the best Street Corn I've ever had, I hated having to share it with my boyfriend, haha. The Duo Verde was so good! The guac was delicious and full of flavors, all the salsa choices were interesting and I really liked the orange creamy one - I had never had a creamy salsa before. And the Queso Verde was so good! My children and husband love this place mainly due to the location and the fresh fruit Fresca they whip up. I personally am not a fan as I can't find anything on the menu that WOW me especially considering I prefer non-meat and animal free dishes. It's very rare (Maybe 10 times a year ) that I'll dine Pesc-related. I can attest that the fresh chips and the variety of salsa that accompany are yummy. Our children always get the taco de pollo from the Ninos menu. My husband enjoy the shrimp taco with rice and beans. The service has always been welcoming, friendly and attentive. The restaurant ambiance is good in the eyes and the open kitchen concept is very appreciated as you can see food as it is provided from the kitchen staff. I appreciate how they decorate for the occasions as I've dined near Christmas and Valentine Day and the decor is very welcoming. Just over 5 years ago I tried Miriam Cocina not to long after they had opened. Today I found myself needing food just prior to visiting the Dallas Museum of Art. Based on others favorable reviews I've seen Over the years,I thought I'd give Miriam another shot. After parking at the museum,we made the lovely stroll across Clyde Warren Park to eat at Miriam Cocina. So far so good. Most places in Dallas these days offer a brunch and here is no different. The usual suspects with a Latin influence are available and I opted for an omelette. Stuffed with sauteed spinach, mushrooms,bell pepper and onion,it was generous size. Served with fried potatoes. Also,I added an appetizer order of emenadas to include 1 chicken and two Short rib. A cucumber mint lemonade completed my order and nothing left to do but enjoy the pleasant settling and morning sun streaming in. Long story short,the chicken empanada was tasty. Not as magnificent as I expected but. That's were it stops. Combined with a couple of critical hiccups from the waiter and " less than" expected from the food,I'm afraid my 2nd visit to Mariam Cocina was.... As I looked around the restaurant between my arrival at 11:15 and 12 noon departure,business was slow for a restaurant in this area at this time of day Offering brunch . My boyfriend brought us here for our anniversary dinner on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was fairly quiet I'm assuming since it was a weekday. I really appreciated the free valet parking since it's located right by the very busy Klyde Warren Park. Our server was kind and the food all came out very quickly. I always give bonus points to restaurants who start with free chips and salsa, and the three choices of salsa were a great addition. My favorites were the green and orange. To start we ordered the empanadas which were probably the best thing we ordered all night. They were fried perfectly and super flavorful with the best sauce to dip them in. My passion fruit marg was strong and delicious! My combination entree was good but nothing super impressive. I didn't love the carrots and corn in the rice and the enchilada meat sauce barely had any ground beef so it was not the most filling. The pork belly taco was flavorful but a light tough to bite through as a taco. The tres leches was surprisingly much more moist than I was expecting and it was a huge slice. I was not a fan of the raspberry filling though and chose to eat around it. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and in a super cool part of town. I would recommend for a one time date night! read more

If you're coming to eat here either get an Uber or have some funds for valet. The parking was difficult, either valet $15 self park or metered. We were lucky to find some street parking across the street where the meter was about three bucks an hour. We were sat by the window with no light, very dark so it was hard to read the tiny print on the menu. I just use the screen on my phone, a small candle or lamp at the table would have been perfect & romantic. We got the queso for a starter & i was worried it would taste too much like spinach but it was blended in so it didn't. It was delicious & creamy. The chip bowl was super tiny. It is more of a personal size than for 2, we had to get it refilled a couple of times. I got the Alfredos Carne Asada, and it was beyond delicious. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The black beans were seasoned well & tasted fresh. The white rice has a slight lime taste & was so good. I also ordered a side of yuca fries, and they were well seasoned, tender, and the chimichurri sauce was a perfect touch. I would love the seasoning on the yuca fries. A lot of restaurants serve them very plain. My friend got the brisket enchilada plate with the black beans and a red Spanish rice. The enchiladas were so good that even my extremely picky daughter ate the leftovers at home. I drank the Piña picosa, and it was delicious!! It was actually spicy. Service was spotty, mostly good, friendly but several times we couldn't locate him. Hands down, one of the best brunch experiences I've had in Dallas! Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The chilaquiles were incredibly tasty--just the right amount of spice and texture. The chicken and waffles were seasoned perfectly, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Not always easy to get both right, but they nailed it. The drinks were also a highlight--fresh, balanced, and just what brunch calls for. On top of that, our server Eddy was amazing. Perfectly fried with a little crunch and super tender meat. My entree wasn't as impressive - I got the filete mahi mahi. The salad was good though I wish it didn't have the seeds in it. The fish itself just wasn't very good at all. It was chewy, not very tender. I'm not an experienced fish eater so I can't say if it's different from mahi mahi normally but it generally wasn't enjoyable. I think it's safe to assume most of the food is from a bulk supplier like sysco or similar. Think of what you might get served in a high-school or college cafeteria; that's the level this food is on. We had a reservation for 11:15, but didn't get seated until 11:30, it usually wouldn't bother me but it wasn't busy and there were plenty of tables open. Once we got seated it was okay, we ordered our drinks and food. I ordered an espresso martini, and in my opinion it was okay, it wasn't creamy like regular espresso martinis I've had from other places. I ordered the breakfast tacos, I thought they were okay too, it was supposed to be egg, bacon, and potatoes, but it really just felt like eggs and barely any bacon. Now that that's out of the way, this was the best food I've had in Dallas in a very long time! As busy as it was, our server did her best to be attentive and made recommendations. My friend and I both got the French toast which was perfectly sweet, not too much! And the short rib empanadas are to DIE FOR! They come with a lime crema on the side and all I can say is 10/10! When you walk into the restaurant, first impression is the chic decor. It feels like an upscale but friendly place. And then we find that the food is amazing too!! The shirt rib empanada had a beautifully flaky and tender crust. We also had the duo verde, the 4 amigos tacos, #6 combo, street corn. They all had great flavor. Every taco in the amigo plate was so good. We loved that they had many vegetarian options. I also recommend the El Bikini, their version of the skinny margarita.
