I love this place. They have all kinds of superfoods for weirdos like me. The salads are phenomenal. The smoothies and juices are awe-inspiring. So are the (cooked) soups. The employees are always so friendly and seem content. They say on the website that the food is made with caring and kindness. I know that seems like a metaphysical new-agey "vibes" kind of deal, but it's true and it makes a difference! Don't judge me! I can't wrap my head around the price whiners in some of the other reviews. These ingredients are not cheap, as anyone who cooks with them at home knows. Most of this stuff is fresh, organic, and super high-quality stuff (e.g. the seeds, nuts, and powders like maca). $10 for a salad with incredible homemade dressing in a generous portion is totally reasonable. $11 for a smoothie packed with superfoods and mixed in a vitamix is also. There is not a big markup here. If you want cheaper, crap food, there are PLENTY of places to get it. More ginseng, camu camu, and goji berries for me. read more

This was the second spot I tried to experience vegan restaurants within 10 miles of my home. The food was great. I felt healthy and happy and full. The prices were a little high butt worth it. I had the quesadillas with sour cream. Of course there was no meat, and no soy, and no Dairy. It was so flavorful even a full carnivore would be happy. I also had an Energizer smoothie which was just the right amount of natural sweetness. I will be returning someday soon. read more

Thoughtful, inventive, healthy foods prepared by the longstanding forerunners in raw organic food preparation in metro Detroit. Not only is the food amazing and somewhat eclectic, but the staff is extremely knowledgeable and create an air of well being that stays with you long after you leave the doors. I am not a fan of kombucha, but me and my friends refer to the always chipper staff as the "buche pimps" who lovingly have named the pots of brew with names like "frank the tank." The raw cocoa desserts and cheesecakes are worth the trip to royal oak alone. If you are feeling a bit sluggish and need a little bit of a nutrient boost, I highly suggest checking this place out and fortifying your soul with fresh wholesome goodness and contagious smiles found at the cacao tree. I adore this place. My quinoa wrap was the best tasting wrap I have ever had. It was clearly made with love and it was a large portion. It was pricey, but i understand that all of their ingredients are fresh and costly. It's a cute atmosphere and I love the hippie vibe. As a vegetarian, I am always looking for places like this to eat. My only complaints were that the benches were messed up and i almost fell off of them...the seating area could be better or at least more stable. The woman who took my order wasn't exactly the peppiest...kind of monotone and out of it but whatever. The greatness of the food made everything better. read more

Really amazing food and smoothies! I always get "On a Beach in Hawaii" smoothie and the burrito. As a creature of habit, I haven't ventured out to try other options but my go to options are so yummy that I never feel like I need to. I took off a star because the prices are pretty outrageous (my smoothie + burrito would be about $20) so it is not an everyday dining option. However, if the food is really local and organic, then I can stomach the costs. I highly recommend that you try this place. Not for everyday, but for those days when you feel disgusting from eating crap the day before and want to feel good. read more

My first venture to a truly vegan dining experience. I ordered the Mexican salad with Ranch because it was the most featured item on yelp. I'm not sure what makes it Mexican, maybe the avocado? It's a very good salad, a bit pricey for what you receive in my opinion. I do like the neighborhood since it reminds me of being back in downtown Long Beach, just be aware there isn't much street parking, well at least around noon when I decided to go. There is a public parking building right in the back of the building that has the first two hours free. read more

This place is pretty cool I've only been here a few times. I usually get the broccoli soup and Mexican salad. The ingredients are fresh and local which I like. What I don't like is having to pay $2.00 for an extra side of dressing, I think that's a bit much. However it's not too much to keep me from eating here lol. Oh and the desserts are absolutely amazing a little pricey considering it's such a small portion, so be careful if you grab two or three it'll cost you at least $10 or so. read more

I have a number of food restrictions and requirements and while im used to getting eye rolls and a hard time for asking what kind of almond milk is used and if it has carageenan at other places, at cacao tree i get a smile amd told they make it themselves (yay!). Awesome! What's so great about cacao is that the menu is different than inn season yet just as diverse and so great tasting! The owner and staff were so nice and down to earth. My girlfriend is not vegan or vegetarian and she loved it, plus the wait staff was so nice in suggesting and explaining everything on the menu. Great wholesome food for anyone! Try the Mexican Salad and Daily Tonic; they're good.

We live Downriver and it's nearly impossible to find places like this. We drove 1 hour in a snowstorm and it was worth all 10 white knuckles! It's a small cafe (four 2-tops and counter seating for at least 10-12 people) perfectly located near the main parking garage. You order at the register and they bring your food to your table. They have quite a smoothie menu (I ordered the Spice of Life one and it was phenomenal...next time I plan on ordering the Nilla Wafer). The main menu is nice and varied, consisting of wraps (our kids ordered the taco and quesadilla wraps...my daughter finished hers in mere minutes, my son is a carnivore and didn't finish his - I did, and it was delicious), soups (coconut curry - yum), and salads (Mexican salad w/Chipotle Vinaigrette for my husband and I - four thumbs up), and "pudding" for dessert (we didn't tell our son that it was made with avocado...he ate the entire thing, all gone). They have several items available in containers, ready to take home. We bought the "chicken" salad, sour cream and onion kale chips, and macaroons. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming...the atmosphere was inviting. It is indeed a bit pricey (all told after tip it was just under $120), but in my opinion it's worth it. I would pay this amount any day rather than fill my families' bodies with processed, nutritionally-barren food. My ONLY suggestion would be to move the Vitamix back into the kitchen area. Sooo many people were ordering smoothies and that thing is LOUD. The space is small enough as it is without adding an extremely loud commercial blender into the mix. It was difficult to have a conversation and after so many times of hearing it it became annoying. I am from out of town and was looking for a tasty meal. I tried the falafel wrap with collard greens, coconut water and the most amazing chocolates. Everything was raw vegan, amazing and delicious. The staff was so awesome. They were friendly, informative and entertaining. I will definitely be coming back. I planned on only stopping in to get a snack and ended up lingering for several hours enjoying the foods, chatting with other guests and employees. I am curious to meet the owner. Love this place! I visit as often as possible. Everything is made fresh from high quality ingredients and even local when possible. I love knowing that whatever I select it will be giving me vital nutrients as well as an awesome tasting meal. Prices are high, but the portions are big. So as a vegetarian, I was very skeptical about this place given that I LOVE cheese. My friend recommended the burrito and I basically only ordered it to appease my friend. I was sure it was going to be disgusting. OH MY GOD WAS I WRONG. Granted, it does not taste like a traditional burrito, but damn it is pretty freaking close. The nut meat was very very filling - I only ate half and I usually eat all my food. I asked them to add nacho cheese on it and the cheese was almost indistinguishable from regular nacho cheese. I told my friend that I could see myself eating this once a week, it was that good. I also had the superberry kombucha which was one of the best kombuchas I've had (better than GTs). Only downside, I probably won't be eating this once a week as it is pretty pricey. $10 for what is essentially a wrap. The kombucha was also pretty expensive. Go try it with an open mind. Hell, go there with a closed mind and you'll still like it. It was very very good and incredibly flavorful. read more

I really like the protein smoothie and their salads are always very fresh. A very healthy place to eat and the food is delicious.

As gluten intolerant vegetarian eating out is a challenge. I really love this restaurant, they do not judge the peculiar diet restrictions and offer great suggestions. As I am always on the search for an amazing salad I was thrilled to discover the Foodie's Favorite. It has amazing greens and is very filling. Delicious vegan food! Was in the area for work a few weeks ago and felt like eating healthy. I travel for work on a weekly basis and it's difficult to find restaurants that serve fresh and nutritious food. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I have to agree it is a bit pricey, but the food is so delicious its worth it and you forget you're eating raw. We had the falafel wrap, tacos and veggie burger, and they were all amazing! I tried a burrito for $10 and it was probably the best burrito I've ever eaten. I also bought some chocolates, 4 small pieces for $4. They were good, but I don't think I'd buy them again at that price.
