We ordered: - fried pickle chips to start - my wife's Crunchwrap - my daughters plain Caesar salad - and I ordered the "beef sandwich" Results: - Pickle chips never came out. - Crunchwrap was fine - They added $5 fake chicken to the Caesar salad for no reason. And the fake Parmesan was terrible - I didn't realize it at the time but they gave me this anemic "pulled mushroom" sandwich instead of my ordered beef. I mean it was black strips on a bun so I thought it was fake beef. The sandwich wasn't good and then when I got the check realized they'd given me the wrong sandwich. Worse, when I was leaving I saw the "beef sandwich" and it looked so much better. And also... being down the street from Slows BBQ meant we could have gotten their fake chicken sandwich instead which is phenomenal. Me and my friend came here during brunch hours (10-am-3pm) while came with a brunch menu. She got the brunchywrap, and I got the egg burger with a side of home fries. The only good thing about this food was the home fries. Not only were the entrees mediocre, they were incorrectly made. For example, my friend requested chorizo in her wrap, they gave her sausage. For me, I requested the egg be taken off. It came with no onions, and the cheese wasn't melted. Not to mention, to portions were average size and the price $18 for each dish. There were less than 8 other customers in the restaurant at this point. Safe to say, we are truly disappointed, as we came a few years ago for a pop up, and the food was great. Truly fell off. I also was charged $16 a few months prior for a cinnamon roll that was genuinely one of the worst I've ever had. They're $5 now so hopefully the recipe changed. Tried this place and it was alright. I believe that they must have just opened this location because they were not able to serve alcohol due to a transfer liquor license snag, and the restaurant was sparsely decorated with an eclectic variety of retro items. The place has a good vibe though, the service was great, and people were friendly. We had an assortment of their vegan food ranging from cheese sticks, artichoke dip, pasta, to a couple of their sandwiches. All of the food was good but not really anything that wowed me to say. I will definitely try this place again and try a couple more of the menu items because I do see the potential for this place. I'm always thrilled and so grateful when I discover that a vegan gem exists in a location I am visiting. The distance to Corktown, is it? Wasn't enough to stop us from venturing in the sub 20 degree weather to check this place out. It is SO cute inside. We were seated immediately during brunch service on a saturday. I was really hoping to try a coney dog because my vegetarianism precludes my consumption of the OG version. They only serve that shit during lunch or dinner so unfortunately, I was not able to order it. I was mentally in denial about this possibility when I was looking at the menu so I didn't really adequately have a back up planned. I asked the server for a recommendation and she directed me to the griddler, a breakfast sandwich of vegan sausage patty, eggs, and cheddar flanked by two pancake buns. DELICIOUS. What a nice combination of sweet and salty flavors. The pancakes were so good I wanted a plate of them afterwards. GF ordered the shrimp and grits which she really enjoyed. I'm not a fan of seafood so this wasn't for me. Servers were lovely but it took a long time for our drinks to come out, we had to ask again when the food was served but we had not received our beverages. I was so dead set on ordering the fucking vegan coney dog that we ordered it for delivery the following day. It was ECSTASY. I would say better than sex but that doesn't even do it justice. I really wanted to love brunch here because I've had SUCH good experiences at Street Beet before. Their smash burger and Crunchwrap are honestly 10/10 -- I've left raving about them in the past. This time I came for brunch and ordered the shaken espresso, biscuits and gravy, a pancake on the side, and the lemon arugula salad. Starting with the drink -- the shaken espresso was very sweet. I'm not really a sweets person, so it just wasn't for me. I was hoping for something a bit more balanced and bold. For food, I got the biscuits and gravy because I was craving something savory and salty... but surprisingly, the gravy tasted sweet. The biscuits also weren't as fluffy as I expected and were a little hard to cut into. I really wanted that soft, buttery, comforting brunch vibe and it just didn't hit. I also added a pancake on the side and it was insanely sweet as well. By that point I was genuinely confused why everything leaned so sugary. I totally get that some people love sweeter brunch options -- it just wasn't what I was expecting across the board. The lemon arugula salad though? Perfect. Fresh, balanced, and exactly what I needed to offset everything else. The location itself is super cute -- it has such a cool vintage diner feel, and I loved the free arcade games in the back. That part of the experience was honestly so fun. Our waitress was nice. The food here is amazing! Always on point. This was our first time at the new location. Love the atmosphere. Bathrooms were clean and nice. The service, however, wasn't great. Our waitress wasn't attentive and never came back to check on us after our food was delivered. We had to track her down to get to go containers and someone else brought the check. For a full service restaurant, the service was lackluster at best. We'll go back because the food is awesome and it's one of the only all vegan spots that's close. Brunchy wrap was not great, brunch menu in general does not seem worth it for portion sizes. NOT CRUNCHY like the dinner menu's crunchy wrap but maybe that was simply an assumption on my part so I don't hold it against them but just an fyi. Either server or kitchen made a mistake and put sausage in the wrap instead of chorizo. Tasted fine, basically the Anna's House vegan breakfast burrito but they charge you $3 for avocado. Home fries great, no notes. When I went here when they shared a space with some bar in 2024 and the food was amazing. Last year I got a sausage mcmuffin thing at a pop up from them and it was mediocre. Went to the restaurant soon after opening in January and wanted a dessert, the server said they had a cinnamon roll but it wasn't on the menu so I said ok. When we got the bill we were charged $16 for this not at all good gluten free cinnamon roll. Still I decided to give this place another chance to support one of the few vegan restaurants around here. Service and food quality has gone down while the prices have gone up. My friend got pickles on her burger and was charged $1 extra for 2 slices of pickle. I really want to like this place and recommend it but I can't after multiple disappointments. Positive is the restaurant design strikes a happy medium between vibey and comfortable. They had great music on and gravity falls on the tv so obviously the know ball. Honestly I will probably be back because there are so few vegan restaurants here so I hope they are able to improve the next time I go. read more

First time popping into the permanent location and it was soooooo nice! We loved the decor a lot! It was my husband, myself, and our toddler in and we were stoked to have some specials they had. We got the queso burger, the infamous bowl, side of fries, and buttered noodles (of course we got a shake to go too!) The food was outrageous and I could literally eat the queso off a dang shoe! To start, I am not vegan. My wife is vegan, so came here pre-concert. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! Service was great. I had the crab cakes and Chesapeake fries and I was floored with the flavor of the crab cakes! Very moist and tender. Shared Brussels sprouts and a strawberry cheesecake shake with my wife. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and finally I had some time and I was in the area so I figured I'd step in. So here's the thing you see Street Beet on the outside and you assume that the door below the sign is where you enter no no no no my friend that is not the entrance. Let me help you out. You have two options you can enter through third Street bar and it's literally in the back where you're like. Am I supposed to be back there yep, you are because that's where street beet is. Or you can go through the alley. Enter through the back where there's outdoor seating and then street beat is right there. You'll thank me later because I was pulling on doors. I definitely shouldn't have been pulling on. Now let's get to the food part. You're here for the food. The place is entirely vegan, which was wonderful. I love a good vegan spot in Detroit. Now the pita wrap that I received was not the best. Don't get me wrong. I love the cheese. I love the pita that they used and I love the sauce however the tofu Batter that they used was a little bit too salty for me. Now the Patty melt was absolutely amazing. In fact, so delicious that I questioned if it was vegan or not. Overall, the staff was friendly. They had pastries they had drinks. The food was absolutely divine! Parking......We won't even go there. I circled the block like I was at a concert. Overall, I have to say the food was good. I recommend the patty melt. They are moving soon to a new location so maybe the whole entrance thing can be resolved. Overall, I have to say 4 out of 5 delicious. You know what I almost forgot something so when I arrive, they gave me a mega mechanism that was used to say when your order was ready I asked how far around the vicinity could be mechanism be she said around the building I got in my car parked in front of the establishment because I had figured out the whole parking thing and I waited. I noticed time had passed over 20 minutes and the thing had not buzzed. The next thing I know I go in I sit for another 10 minutes and I noticed that patrons who were there after me got their food. I looked at the order on the counter, and I correlated it with the number on the mechanism and handed her the mechanism that still had not buzzed by the way and got my food 30 minutes probably after it had been made. I've been a fan of Street Beet since the first pop-up I went to in 2019 and I'm so happy they're back full time. The menu has just gotten better and better over the years. This time I ordered the tenders, regular fires, salted caramel milkshake and a cookie from Cookies by MK. Everything was incredible. They're also really good about nut and gf allergy warnings which I've always appreciated. The space inside third street bar is great, with plenty of seating and the staff are really nice. This table was full of non-vegan diets and the overall feedback was that everything was delicious and you would be pleasantly surprised to even know the food is vegan. We had a whole mukbang happening at our table. We had crunchwraps, chicken nuggets, a sampling of different fries ranging from regular to litty fries. Today is Street Beet's final day open and I am feeling very emotional about it. I'm very happy for those running Street Beet as they are off to pursue new ventures and I truly cannot wait to see what they are and will be sure to support anything they do going forward, but I can't lie...I am BEYOND sad to see Street Beet go. They have mastered vegan fast food. It's as simple as that. I've been going to them since their pop up days with Kentucky Fake Chicken and McDaddy's and so many more. Everything I've ever ordered here has been DELICIOUS and definitely better than the actual fast food establishments. But also, to be fair, I've never eaten at Taco Bell before, so most times when I come here, I will order their Taco Bell-inspired menu items, and I just always love them. I definitely can't compare to the originals in this case, but I think even people who have eaten the equivalents at Taco Bell would say that Street Beet is far SUPERIOR! I will miss them so much. Literally everything on the menu will be missed. My last time eating here I got the Supreme Crunchywrap and Litty Fries and let me tell you...what an absolute PERFECT final meal here. I expected the gravy fries to be a lot more gravy than the little side 4 tablespoon cup I got, and expected to taste mushroom gravy like how they have at Brooklyn street local but it was just pure salt. You've gotta eat the fries within 20 mins or it will become all limp, made that mistake because i had to drive home. On the plus side, the crunch wrap totally tastes like a Crunchwrap, but I think I got confused and meant quesadilla which is my bad. I asked if the wrap had nacho cheese in it and I'm told it does? I didn't really see or taste any in there tho, and would've been cool getting charged for a side. They do curbside but it must be on the same side of the road which makes sense, it only sucks because there wasn't any spaces and they don't have a lot. I was really anxious going inside because there was atleast a dozen people there, and this is during corona times. I think it would've been better to just have people picking up line up on the back wall or outside even, just to sort everyone out. Food was very salty, kinda spendy, but service was quick. I have respect coz they make their "meats" from scratch far as I know. Had the Caeser wrap, nacho fries, and the special sesame chicken sando. Wrap seemed ok price/portion wise, special small, and nacho fries average. Everything was tasty, but very salty. The fries seasoning was all on the top and the cheese was a little side cup. They also sell olipop (spendy at $5.30 but worth it imho for a fancy drink), a healthier soda pop which was very tasty. Lots of fiber and minimal sugar. Maybe food was less salty when it was a pop up, maybe they've always been so salty to try and make it junk foody, idk. The food here consists of good fakes in my opinion... you know the type... hard to tell the difference between the "fake" and the original.... The chicken sandwich could almost pass for a real chicken sandwich if you were running on 50% coming from drinking your weight at the bar next door (that's also connected). The Crunchwrap is honestly really good and it would be slightly insulting to compare it to the Taco Bell item. There's always a wait but I don't mind. I've had an opportunity to try their entire vegan take on KFC and the two Vegan Taco Hell items pictured (crunch wrap supreme and nacho supreme). Sometimes I strongly wish I could just enjoy the supreme items from Taco Bell like I did in the old days, but I no longer eat beef. Yet never stopped wanting that guilty pleasure. So I love that they offer such items semi guilt free. I'm giving 3 stars because out of all that I've tried, everything as been tongue burning salty! So perhaps they are not really aiming for healthier takes and just vegan cruelty free. I went on a friday maybe an hour before they were closing and they were really sweet and nice about it. I always try to avoid that but it was close and have been on my list to try so i was glad they accepted the order. I ordered the chicken sandwich and if you're not familiar with vegan chicken, think of all fo the same flavors with a wendy's chicken nugget texture. Ok. Street Beet is doing amazing things and I'm in love with the brand. My wife and I were so excited to come here finally. We were just let down. The FAKE Chicken Sando was soggy. I was really hoping it crunched. My wife got the FAKE Chicken Caesar Wrap and wasn't impressed with the dressing. Reggo Fries and Nachos Hell Grande were great. The cookies and cream shake was good.
