I waited 2 weeks before posting this to see if owner would correct the online page. On line the deviled crabs are 3.99. Ordered per instructions for pick up next day. I was charged 4.99 per crab. I ordered 13, plus cubans, and shopped in store, spending $90.00. Call next day to inform him of their mistake. He basically told me he hasn't gotten around to changing on line and too bad for me. Butcher! Love the specialized service. Tip: Armenia location has 3 lb lean ground chuck for $12.99. I ask them to cut in thirds so I have one pound of meat separated in my freezer to use for different meals. This makes great burgers or spaghetti with meat sauce or stuffed Peppers. Each location is different so check them all out when possible. Fresh prepared foods and soups are great. One can find items here not at local grocery store. For example, I get Fideo noodles here and other items from either Spain or Italy. Sometimes you can find a good wine on special. They also have a sitting area so you can have them make you the daily special, soup or sandwich. They close at 6 during the week so get there quickly after work. read more

A resounding YES if you're looking for a solid Italian deli & market and butcher shop with a uniquely Tampa-Cuban vibe. Their Italian sub is very good... think awesome bread topped with a sharp provolone, freshly carved cold cuts (they even had mortadella on there, I really just like saying the word) topped off with a salty, olive-oily olive tapenade. It was big enough to share. There is room to dine in in the cafe area or you can take it to go. They also have deviled crab and a variety of hot Cuban dishes. The meats looked the bomb but we were out and about and didn't want anything to spoil in the car. They had a decent sized grocery selection and a larger than expected wine selection. I hate to say that i will never visit the establishment again. Although i was not the regular customer(African amer.) I thought my patronage would be valued. I came for lasagna, in a small serving amt. As requested. Unpleasant, rude older lady (luisa?) Gave a large expensive slice (cut by pound). I reinforced that i just wanted a smaller serving she told me she can't cut a smaller piece. I told her i have had smaller servings before, she stated she can't sell it like that. After saying neva mind she reluctantly cut a smaller piece and weighed it. I then stated i would like a slice of cuban bread, she said they don't sell that. After saying i had it before she says they are out of bread, huh? I expressed my upsetting experience at the register, she cashier apologized n stated she would let father know, who i assume is the owner. She then says , ill take off 11 cents for my problems, i wasnt even asking for a compensation.. Wth?!! Really? Never again..shameful read more

Great Italian deli and meat shop! The filets are a great price and delicious. Wrapped in bacon so you know they're good. They also have a great array of antipasto items. This a great place to get specialty Italian wines as well, a really great selection at good prices. Hey also have specialty pastas and other authentic Italian items. Overall good experience. They were short staffed so I won't hold that against them. Italian sub was not that great. I have had wayyy better. The Italian sausage sub was good. Yummy sausage and peppers on the sub!! I would call this joint an Italian/Cuban hybrid. They have a lot of Cuban choices in their market. We saw Cacciatore's last night while we were driving to a restaurant. Being a fan of Italian markets we decided to stop in. I'm glad we did. Although I wouldn't call this just an Italian market, it had quite a selection of Latin items as well. The meats in the deli case looked fresh and delicious. I picked up some olives and some artichoke/hearts of palm salad from the deli along with some guava jelly I had on my toast this morning. Since we were on our way to dinner I couldn't try any of their sandwiches but I will definitely come back for the muffaletta, they are so hard to find here. read more

A first time visit and glad we did. Small in size than Cacciatore Bros but good variety of meats and grocery products, with an Italian lean. Enjoyable visiting grocers like Cacciatore & Sons, that provide good food options in a classic cultural environment. Great neighborhood feel store. read more

The chicken and yellow rice dinner was awful: it smell sour and the rice was gummy. I had to buy the black beans in the refrigeration area and they were good. The loaves of Cuban bread is always good. read more

i have lived in the neighborhood for about 18 months and just went in to the store for the first time this week. the meat case had bacon wrapped filet mignon for $6.99 each and they looked really good. i bought 2 and just finished eating them and they were delicious and so tender. I also bought a quart of homemade sauce with meatballs. i hope it is as good as the filets. i will be back often. lots more things to taste read more

My family has been shopping here for generations and I have never thought to write a review until today. My 3-year-old fell asleep in the car just as I pulled in after making the drive from S. Tampa. I called and asked if they could take my order over the phone and run it outside to me. I could see a lot of people through the window and it was a very busy Saturday in their market. The woman didn't even hesitate and said, "Of course!" She was so helpful to me and I can't tell you how much I appreciated that customer service. You don't get that anywhere else except a family-owned small business. If you have never been there, the meats are great and the product selection is unique. It is a real treat! read more

I came here and picked up some pasta and Italian subs because I appreciate a good sub once in a while. I was so excited to try it and I'm not going to lie the first few bites could pass as ok, but as the third bite rolled around I literally started gagging. It tasted like someone soaked the bread in acid and then fermented it in a bowl of salt. Literally the worst thing I've ever eaten. I did some investigating and found so much salt just sitting on the bread that when I touched it my finger was covered in salt. I scraped off that layer and was greeted with another bite of horror. It was so bad that I am actually contemplating driving an hour and a half round trip to take it back and save myself from the $12 salt bath I just took from my inedible sandwiches. There is only one thing I hate more then losing money and that is horrible food. This place managed to check both those boxes. Solid 1 Star. Hoping they didn't find a way to ruin the bagged pasta I got too. It's really not hard to make an Italian sub. I mean if publix can do it the Italian store should really figure it out. read more

There are many salads and olives to pick from. I selected the antipasti salad and it was delicious. Filled with meats, cheese, artichokes and olives. One day I will return to shop from the many speciality items that fill the shelves. They had many prepared foods for lunch. I was overall impressed. Extremely, neat and clean. read more

Well, what do you know! I have written two reviews about these people (complaints about their deviled crabs). Neither very flattering in the least. My wife came home yesterday with four of the things. I had been looking forward all day to deviled crabs. Until she told me what she did. She works not far from Cacciatore & Sons, so rather than go across town to Brocatos (my favorite) she decided to give them another try. As Gomer would say, surprise, surprise, surprise. I have to say, even though they went up a dollar in price, they were well worth it. Filled to the brim with crab meat and a very nice flavor. I must say for the price and the taste they got Brocatos beat this time by a country mile. We will be back. As long as they keep this up they have won me over. Thanks guys! read more

I ordered for my staff at their deli for the first time today. Spent almost $100.00 on meals/sandwiches for staff. Picked up the order promptly at noon. One of the staff helped me carry the sandwiches/lunches to my car. I mentioned I better check the large order. He said "you won't have to do that as we get the orders right." Got back to the office to find 3 uncooked eggplant parmeseans instead of cooked. I had also ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich with no cheese or dairy as one of my employees is very allergic to dairy. The sandwich had cheese on it. I called the deli, spoke with a woman with a heavy accent. She accused me of not ordering the eggplant correctly. Told her I didn't even know they served uncooked food! I told her I needed to reorder sandwiches for the 3 people who got the uncooked food. She told me she was busy and didn't have time! I called back 20 minutes later and was told there were no managers or owner to complain to, that I had to call back Monday. That is the first and last time I eat at that place. The service was terrible, they can't get orders correct and the sad part is no one seems to care. If my allergic employee didn't check that sandwich for dairy, she could have been badly hurt. Stay far away from this place. The food isn't worth the poor service. read more
