We came here for happy hours with family on Mothers Day. Obviously, the restaurant was full of customers. No empty tables. Some people waited at the foyer and outside the restaurant. It was quite crazy but we expected that because it was Mothers Day. We reserved a table online a few days ago. Luckily we got the time that we wanted. When we arrived at the restaurant, we only waited for a short period of time and got a table at a patio. The patio with fresh air and windows was quite nice and comfortable. We ordered 8 or 9 dishes from their happy hours menu. We tried their rigatoni bolognese , burger, sushi, fries, tuna temaki, prawn crunch roll, avocado kale salad, and avocado dip. Everything tasted good or better than expected. The service was good. Although the restaurant was busy, our server was very attentive and checked on our table. The pricing was reasonable as well. We would love to come back and try other dishes from their regular menus. This branch is located in the same parking lot of Coquitlam Centre, so customers must be able to find parking. read more

My family and I came to this location for a birthday celebration. From the very beginning of the night to the end, we were greeted with respect and kindness. Our server was Julia B and she was exquisite. She knew how to take care of my family and their needs (seniors, elderly with disability and a toddler.) we had a wonderful meal! The London fog crème brûlée was delightful. The steak frites were perfectly cooked. The bacon cheddar burger was delicious and I highly recommend upgrading to the yam fries. And the spaghetti Portofino was also very well done! Additionally, when we were exiting, i heard a staff member use the radio to ask an available staff near the front to open the door for me and my party. I come here often with my daughter whenever we are out shopping at coquitlam centre. always been happy with the food and service until today. our server did not check in at all (we needed more napkins and some hot sauce) and we even tried to flag them down to no avail. no biggie...we can survive without extra napkins and hot sauce. however, what i will NOT TOLERATE is complete and utter RUDENESS when i asked for the bill for the SECOND TIME. i was rudely told that they are only one person and they thought i would want to pack my food first. ok, even so, when they dropped off the takeout boxes, they could have said "bill is coming!" or something to acknowledge they are coming back. instead, they turned their back before i could even ask about the bill and forced me to track them down (again) to inquire. they basically tried to CHASTISE me in front of my daughter for asking for the bill again when they didnt even acknowledge they were coming back. they lost a loyal customer. i wont be going back. read more

Had a such an amazing time here at the Cactus Club cafe! My family brought us here since they come here often. The dishes were delicious and taste better than some places in NY. FYI, as a New Yorker I did not know that for burgers, they do not have the option of how well or rare you want the burger which was interesting. The staff were attentive and patient! The ambiance was nice but could but could be a bit brighter. Wish we came during happy hour to take advantage of their happy hour deals! Too bad that the day I went, the outdoor seating was closed because that would been great on a nice day! I always say Cactus never disappoints, but sadly this one has disappointed me twice. it's a super busy location and it seems the kitchen and wait staff can't keep up. The first time i was disappointed, our food took over 45 mins to come, and they offered us a free dessert, which came and was COLD in the middle (it was the chocolate molten lava cake). The second time, i not only waited an hour and 15 mins to sit, but i came and had the chicken strips which were delish! however the fries were overstated and old. my friend's calamari was overly spicy and tasted like it was doused in lime. We had people visiting from overseas and kelowna and they chose this place as it was near their accommodations. They got to the lower mainland late so this was an ideal place to meet since it stayed open till midnight or so. We were a big group of 15 or so and we were spilt into two groups. Lucky they managed to seat us nearby. My SO and I already ate as it was like 10 pm when we were there so we only had drinks and appies. The others had proper meals like burgers, salads and pasta. They also managed to squeeze in desserts before the dining room was closed. The avocado dip we had was delicious. I'll order that again. I had the sunset soda which was really refreshing. This cactus club is really nice and spacious. There were other groups celebrating birthdays when we were there. There are small intimate tables lining the walls as well as booths by the side and tables in the middle which can be combined for big groups. There is another section near the door which seemed to be more for drinks. Service was good and the vibe was chill. Plenty of parking out there in the mall big lot. The food is usually good, if a bit on the pricey side. Service is always lovely. I don't think I ever tasted anything bad in the restaurant, but their takeout is hit and miss. It's happened a few times to receive incomplete orders or food with quality issues (undercooked chicken, rubbery scallops). Went with my son for an after school treat and booked the reservation for 2:45. We've been a patron for many years and go often to various locations. My son had the spaghetti portofino, and crab cake frites. My son has some left over and he didn't like the shrimp nor tomatoes, so I picked a couple of little bites once home my husband ate the leftover spaghetti. The dish was very very oily, the cherry tomatoes in the description are just regular tomatoes. Around 5:30 pm my son started to complain about stomach aches. He started to vomit every 5-15 minutes in the trash can up to 11 pm. I called to let them know, spoke to Madison to ask if they can check if the dish is expired or not cooked properly, I do not wish my one else to go through this. She said she will reach out the next day and I haven't heard anything yet. i woke up at 3:30 am and ran to the bathroom, my son was on the can so i vomited into the sink. my son vomited in my bed as well. I found buckets and placed them beside us. we continued to vomit through out the night, it was painful. Needless to say I missed work and my son missed school. my husband had to cut out the morning as he had diarrhea! I've never experienced this level pf food poisoning, im still in bed. The space makes more sense and has an open space concept which already feels better, and the interior was designed to be versatile so great for usual daily restaurant business, party, and weddings. Have an aesthetic and quality of things seems better than most cactus club. Food actually tastes good, portion isn't big but a good amount. BUSY BUSY so best to make a reservation. I've been to almost every Cactus Club in the lower mainland and the newest edition to the Cactus family was a huge success tonight! They were extremely busy but the staff handled themselves amazingly. They had a minor hiccup of running out of the feature menu item Hot Chicken + Pickles but that didn't take away from an over solid night of food and drinks. Our waitress was top notch and on her game all night just as how you would expect at a Cactus Club. We ordered the Yam Fries, Prawn Crunch Roll and the Szechuan Chicken Lettuce Wraps to start, all three were amazing. I was a little sad I couldn't try the Hot Chicken + Pickles, hopefully i'll get over it because I absolutely love Nashville Hot Chicken! For our mains we ordered two Blackened Creole Chicken's and one Feenie Burger! You can never go wrong with Cactus Club's Blackened Creole Chicken with buttered mashed potatoes and asparagus, it always hits the spot, I'm the biggest fan of the creole butter, I could literally put it on anything and I'd love it. The Feenie Burger was solid as it always is, I love sautéed mushrooms on a burger it also has aged cheddar, smoked bacon, red relish, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and comes with sea salted fries, the fries were hot, crispy and fresh, not spectacular I'd probably get the Yam Fries with the burger next time instead! For dessert we shared the Chocolate Lava Cake, Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bar and the New York Cheese Cake, the desserts were great, the Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream that came with the Lava Cake and Crunch Bar was insanely good, I could eat just a bowl of that Ice Cream on it's own. The cheesecake's raspberry compote wasn't very sweet it was more of a tart compote which was good but I would prefer a sweeter one. All in all it was a great experience, what you would expect from a Cactus Club restaurant. I'll definitely be back. (Also a bonus tip, ask them what days they have half priced bottles of wine, because when they do it's an amazing deal, they also re-cork your bottle if you finish drinking and want to take your bottle home with you) read more

Worst service I have ever had. Took the server 7 minutes, I was timing her, to greet me. Got my food before drinks, and I only ordered a water! The server never came back to do a quality check. The manager had to get our drinks, after she delivered our food. No apology, nothing done to the bill to make up for their tardiness. Worst experience ever! For the prices the Cactus Club charges, the service should be impeccable. Don't waste your time or money on this place. They clearly don't have it together. I really don't like any of the cactus clubs and loud noisy crowded ambiance. We only came here cause it was close to home. Even worse, their dining room was open space and low booths with little to no privacy. Not in the mood to chit chat with the server either she was very understanding of that and took our orders. Tried this place for the first time for dinner recently and it's okay but not sure I'll go back. My husband and I had a small table in the lounge area and we couldn't hear each other unless we raised our voices quite a bit which was uncomfortable. It's not a night club so why not turn the tunes down to a reasonable level. Our waitress was good but it took a bit too long to get my second glass of wine because I got through a good portion of my food by the time it arrived. The food tasted great so no complaints there but the serving size of their wine is smaller than most places and the prices are stupid crazy high. They charged $20 for one 8 oz glass of wine so my two glasses of wine cost almost as much as our two main courses. One star for the food and one star for the decent service but that's all I could give. If you opt to try this location I recommend you ask if they have a cork fee and bring your own wine. At least then you get the wine you enjoy and aren't paying the price of a bottle for one glass. read more

Regular Cactus Club with empty fishbowl feeling for seating they like to call 'modern'. if you enjoy staring at and being stared at by all the other people seated eating very close to you in a cafeteria style looking dining area with dimmed lights and a few flames around then you will love it.
